Best Cabin Camping near Concrete, WA

Concrete, Washington provides several cabin options within local campgrounds and resorts. Howard Miller Steelhead County Park offers clean, well-maintained cabins along the Skagit River with mountain views. Thousand Trails Grandy Creek features both standard and deluxe cabin rentals with more amenities than basic sites. "The campsite is great for kids because of the amenities like the pool and other games. Sometimes it's nice to just get away though and still have power and a bed," noted one visitor. Many cabins include electricity, beds, and basic furniture, though amenities vary significantly by location.

Rustic and deluxe cabins are both available, depending on the location. KOA-style cabins at Burlington-Anacortes KOA and Thousand Trails Grandy Creek offer more comfort features than basic log cabins at other campgrounds. The Thousand Trails property includes a market for basic provisions, while others require bringing supplies from nearby towns. Cabin rentals typically include fire pits with picnic tables, though firewood availability varies by location. Some cabins offer heat and air conditioning, particularly at the KOA properties, while others provide more rustic accommodations with limited amenities.

    Camano Island State Park Campground

    Group Camp Stay

We stayed with several families at the group site with a mixture of trailers, tents, and tents on cars. The trailers ranged in size from 22’ to 36’ and we found ample space for each.

This site has close access to the bathrooms shared with those staying in the cabins. Peekaboo views of the water between the trees.

The site has several campsites that branch off of the road through the site which is also a trail. It has a central gravel area for a large group or trailers next to a large field area. There is no kitchen shelter, just picnic tables, fire pits, and a grill.

The site feels very private but you have people passing on the trail/road, which runs through the middle of camp, at regular intervals.

The park is full of steep hills which can make those with mobility challenges or kids wanting to ride bikes tough. The road to the beach is very steep.

Bring bug spray as mosquitoes were vicious as well as the yellow jackets.

Get there early on a summer weekend. We arrived to the campsite Saturday around 11AM ($10/night). Each site had its own table and fire pit - ours was tucked into a nice private spot. Some of the sites had bear lockers and there were bathrooms nearby with running water and large trash bins throughout.

Hidden Village RV Park & Campground

Great price, very nice manager lady.

I rented a long term space here for over 2 years while working in Washington. Price was by far the best around. It's a very good sized place with spaces to accommodate even the largest trailers. Even when full there's room to maneuver.Full hookups, wifi, bathrooms, shower, laundry room, swimming pool. Has seperate parking for boats, utility trailers etc. Lots of big trees around for a fair amount of shade. Is pet friendly. Manager lady is very nice. Has a separate non power section for tents or dry camping. It's not the fanciest but for the price is great.

    Deception Pass State Park Campground

    Cozy campsites !

There were SO MANY available campsites when we got there. About mid afternoon. The ranger was super friendly and welcoming! The bathrooms were nice and had showers that require tokens that you can buy with your site at check in. The sites vary in size and shape but most of them are decently private/ spaced apart. The site next to us never got booked, probably because it was small, but it was nice for us because it was only a few bushes away. Sites include a picnic table and fire ring with grill grate . There was a trail to the beach not far from us and it was super nice. Although there are plenty of signs that require dogs to be on leashes most people did not adhere to those rules, so keep an eye out if you're bringing the doggos. Very family friendly, very cozy, very nice stay!

    Howard Miller Steelhead County Park

    Stayed two nights

What a lovely campground! There’s a day use area with a bathroom and picnic tables right before entering into the campground. This place allows you to pay to park in the lots for $15/night if you are occupying it which is nice when the campground is full. There’s trash bins located throughout the campground as well as restrooms and shower houses (quarters needed). Dump station is $5. Several free options to pick from based on your setup. If you are paying to overnight park in the parking lot, you technically are not supposed to be using any of the amenities within the campground itself including the shower. If you speak with the Office and allow to pay them directly. They are very accommodating to allow you the bathroom code for the showers. They ask you only stay one night in the parking lot but you can ask for an extra night but get approval.

There’s a bar and grill across the road with pizza and dog friendly. There’s trails around the campground to walk. Very pretty views of the water at half the sites. Camp hosts were very kind and came around at night to check to make sure everyone paid to stay so make sure you do if you are in the parking lot! Had fantastic ATT service and was able to work well. Varied from 3-4 bars of 5G. Only 30 minutes from NC NP entrance. Definitely would stay here again!

    Flowing Lake Park & Campground

The cabins are a lot of fun!

We typically visit the cabins here in the winter, so we don’t usually partake in the summer activities of swimming, boating, etc., but we do love coming here in the winter. The cabins are heated and have bunk beds, which makes for a cozy retreat into nature in the winter. The only reason that this spot did not get full stars is because the park has had transients hiking through the trails (which made for a scary 2 a.m. bathroom break).

    Wonderful group site

Stayed in the group site with my daughter’s American Heritage Girls troop. We had 22 girls and there was plenty of room. This is a huge group site. Has running water, a couple fire pits and a bunch of picnic tables. These are lots of level spots to pitch tents. The flush toilets and shower house are in the parking area for this site so really convenient. We drove down to the beach from the site but I’m pretty sure there is a trail if you wanted to walk. We had a great time!

Guide to Concrete

Cabin accommodations near Concrete, Washington provide access to the North Cascades mountain range at elevations ranging from 200 to over 5,000 feet in the surrounding peaks. The area experiences moderate rainfall with annual precipitation of approximately 65 inches, creating lush forested terrain with diverse camping options. Winter temperatures regularly drop below freezing while summer can bring warm days with temperatures reaching the mid-80s.

What to do

River fishing: Skagit River waters offer productive fishing spots. At Howard Miller Steelhead County Park, camp sites are positioned for angler access. "The tent sites are right on the waterfront behind a row of foliage. The Skagit is a fishable river and spectacular when the salmon pinks run every other year. You can hear them jumping and splashing from your camp site," notes Kayko S.

Waterfront activities: Enjoy lakes within minutes of cabin accommodations. Colonial Creek South Campground offers direct water access. "This is by far the nicest campground in North Cascades National Park that one can drive to. If you are lucky to be able to reserve beach side spots on Diablo Lake you will also have lots of privacy and incredible views of this amazing turquoise blue lake and maybe even your own water access/beach," explains Emma A.

Hiking: Access numerous trails directly from several camping areas. Maple Grove Campsites is reached via a 3.5-mile trail with minimal elevation gain. "The trail is relatively flat and goes through some beautiful old growth forest. We got a spot right by the lake that was flat and soft. All of the sites had fire pits and seemed pretty dispersed," shares Ethan A.

What campers like

Solitude: Away-from-crowds options during specific seasons. "I went during the middle of the week, on a slightly rainy day, at the end of August and was the only person there," reports a Maple Grove visitor. For greater seclusion, consider visiting camping cabins near Concrete outside peak summer months.

Wildlife viewing: Bird and animal watching opportunities. "Two bald eagles were eating dinner on the shore of the Skagit River across from us," notes George from Howard Miller Steelhead County Park. Wildlife sightings are common throughout the region, though visitors should follow proper food storage practices.

Mountain views: Clear sightlines to surrounding peaks. Howard Miller Steelhead County Park offers "spacious sites with beautiful Mountain Views. RV sites equipped with water & electric hookup. Nice clean gravel sites with fire ring & picnic tables," according to Jackie S.

What you should know

Seasonal closures: Not all cabin accommodations operate year-round. Colonial Creek Campground operates from May 22 to September 20. During winter, many national forest roads close with snow accumulation, limiting access to more remote cabin locations.

Varying amenity levels: Facilities differ significantly between locations. Thousand Trails Grandy Creek offers numerous conveniences but presents trade-offs. "If you're looking for a 'nature' experience this isn't it. If you have a trailer or reserve a cabin is great," mentions a visitor.

Reservation requirements: Book well ahead for peak season stays. Howard Miller Steelhead County Park often fills quickly. "Saturday. Every campground near North Cascades is full. Including this one. But the host is phenomenal and when we explain that we're fully contained and only need a place to park, he accommodates us for the overnight parking fee," shares Kathleen D.

Tips for camping with families

Activity options: Find campgrounds with dedicated children's facilities. Burlington-Anacortes KOA provides multiple recreational options. "The jumping pillow has been repaired and is better than ever! Great place to bring the kids. Because it's off the road and has a security gate, I have no problem letting my kid be a kid," writes Kathy A.

Swimming locations: Identify safe water access points. Thousand Trails Grandy Creek offers structured swimming areas. "Very nice place clean and quiet people here are so nice. So much here to do for the kids," notes Jamie A.

Security considerations: Some locations offer additional safety features. Burlington-Anacortes KOA includes "gated and safe" grounds according to one reviewer. This provides parents additional peace of mind when staying with children.

Tips from RVers

Site selection: Choose locations with adequate space. Deception Pass State Park Campground offers variable site sizes. "Spacious sites with beautiful Mountain views. RV sites equipped with water & electric hookup. Nice clean gravel sites with fire ring & picnic tables," notes a reviewer.

Hookup availability: Full-service sites are limited. Bay View State Park provides electrical connections with water but has size restrictions. "Parking can be tricky in the higher numbered sites, especially for large vehicles," explains CJ W.

Noise considerations: Be aware of sound sources near campgrounds. Deception Pass experiences periodic aircraft noise: "Definitely worth a stay with its proximity to the beach, stargazing, hiking. The whole area feels magical. The only downside is the noise from the naval base nearby. You'll hear jets overhead on a regular basis," reports Will L.
