Eleven miles north of Moab along Highway 191, Willow Springs Trail spreads across open desert terrain within State Trust Lands, offering dispersed camping along a main dirt road and numerous side routes. The $15 fee provides access to designated sites marked by fire rings, with portable toilets and vault facilities scattered throughout the area. Corey K. notes the campground fills quickly, arriving Thursday afternoon to find it "totally full."
The main access road handles standard vehicles without issue, though some side routes require higher clearance or four-wheel drive capability. Sites accommodate everything from tents to large RVs, with many reviewers commenting on the generous spacing between camping areas despite high occupancy during peak seasons. The exposed setting means minimal shade protection, making summer conditions challenging, while fall and spring visitors report comfortable temperatures and clear night skies.
Mountain biking access draws many campers here, with direct connections to popular trail systems including Klonzo and Bar M routes. The location puts visitors within 20 minutes of downtown Moab and provides quick access to both Arches and Canyonlands National Parks. Robbie B. highlights the "easy access to the Klonzo and Sovereign Trails via Willow Springs Road."
Cell service reaches most areas of the campground, and the site allows campfires, pets, and alcohol. No water is available on-site, so campers must bring adequate supplies for their stay. The 14-day limit typical of BLM lands applies here. Reservations are available through the standard booking system, though many sites operate on a first-come basis during busy periods.
For those seeking additional overnight options in the region, nearby Utahraptor State Park Campground provides developed facilities just over a mile west.
