Accessible via 9.2 miles of graded gravel road, Hatch Point Campground provides 10 sites on BLM land with four configured as pull-through spots. The $20 nightly fee ($10 with senior pass) operates on a first-come, first-served basis with a 14-day limit. Each site includes a gravel parking pad, picnic table, and fire pit, though wood collection is prohibited on-site.
The high desert setting means sparse tree coverage and rocky, sandy ground that can challenge tent stakes. Campers report mixed cell service, with Verizon showing one to two bars at campsites and stronger signal up the hill from the camping area. "Vault toilets and trash cans but no water," notes Greg L., emphasizing the need to bring all water supplies.
The vault toilet facility stays well-maintained with hand sanitizer and toilet paper stocked. Sites vary in accessibility, with some requiring a walk down from vehicle parking areas while others allow direct access. The exposed location means wind can pick up, though the rock-abundant terrain provides natural tent anchoring materials.
For campers exploring additional options beyond this remote spot, Hatch Point BLM Campground sits just 0.2 miles west with a similar setup.
