What you should know
Seasonal operations: Many campgrounds close during winter months. Richfield KOA operates from March 1 to October 31, while Sam Stowe Campground remains open year-round but with limited winter services.
Road conditions vary: Mountain Mecca requires appropriate vehicles for access. "Need high clearance and 4x4... Beautiful but couldn't get up the road," warns ellen J. The road "recommends using 4wd to come up to prevent washboard, but any vehicle with awe would do."
New facilities: Some campgrounds are recent developments. "This is a brand new RV park, big spacious sites with new utilities- full hookup at about $41 a night- with delightful 360 degree beautiful mountain views," explains Kevin H. about Monroe Canyon RV Park.
Tips for camping with families

Seasonal weather considerations: RV travelers should prepare for temperature extremes. When staying in winter, Leigh-Anne H. notes their experience: "Stayed here in the dead of winter and was very comfy and cozy. Bus had heated blankets and was thoughtfully set up."
Hookup options: "The spaces are wide and long and can accommodate some pretty lengthy rigs," writes Shad G. about Monroe Canyon RV Park. "The great part for us was that it is accessible to the Paiute trail system within minutes."
