Page Lake Powell Campground
Close to everything
Level pads with some close easy hiking. Minutes from lake Powell and Horseshoe bend.
Lone Rock Beach Primitive Camping Area provides pets-allowed sites for both tent and RV camping along the sandy shoreline of Lake Powell. Antelope Point RV Park also welcomes pets at its full-hookup sites within Glen Canyon National Recreation Area. Both areas maintain standard leash policies, requiring pets to be supervised at all times. Page Lake Powell Campground offers additional amenities for pet owners, including picnic tables and trash disposal that simplify camping with animals. The pet-friendly RV sites at Roam America Horseshoe Bend feature electrical hookups, water access, and sewer connections, making extended stays with pets more comfortable. Campgrounds around Lake Powell typically lack dedicated dog parks or pet washing stations, so owners should pack portable water bowls and waste bags.
Several dispersed camping options welcome pets throughout the Glen Canyon area, including Warm Creek Bay, State Line Spot, and Ferry Swale Road BLM sites. These free camping areas provide more space for pets to explore but have significantly fewer amenities. Most lack toilets, trash service, and potable water. The terrain around Lake Powell can be challenging for pets with sandy areas that become extremely hot during summer months. Sharp desert plants and wildlife considerations require extra vigilance when camping with dogs. High winds occasionally affect the Glen Canyon Dam Bridge Outlook area, making it less ideal for pets sensitive to weather conditions. When planning longer stays, Page offers basic veterinary services approximately 3-10 minutes from most campgrounds in the region.

"Big wide open parking area next to the bridge. Nothing special, but convenient."

"Wonderful large dog park and the best laundry facilities I've seen. Highly recommend!!"
"It's in a nice location, with attractive cliffs all around, and it's actually pretty close to Antelope Canyon and very close to Page itself. "
"We needed a spot to stay for the night near lake Powell on our way further west in Utah. This worked out nicely with our 20 foot trailer(with space to turn around)."
"Right along the Utah/Az state line. No shelter but gorgeous views and super quiet. Our dog loved it too."
"A bit bumpy on the dirt road to the site, but we managed our 30ft RV ok and enjoyed a quiet night tucked just off the dirt road"
"Few places next to a dirt road, super quiet. We managed well with our 24ft RV 2WD but road is first bumpy and will be sandy after"
"The entrance is a steep little incline to the gate. Once through the gate the road is better but has some rocky sections which are real bumpy. The road splits. To the right is an old water tower."
"Located by Lee's Ferry, the Navajo Bridge, Cliff Dwellers, Horseshoe Bend, and the awe inspiring Vermillion Cliffs, these camp sites offer a remote camping experience but still close to plenty of amenities"

Level pads with some close easy hiking. Minutes from lake Powell and Horseshoe bend.
Sandy Beach dry camping at its best. Great price and Beautiful views. Can't get much closer to the water. National Park pass works here. Fifteen minutes from lake Powell park.
Not ideal for star gazing since you're right next to the Dam, but right across from Lake Powell and only 20 minutes from Horseshoe Bend. Bring cash and you'll be able to drop that in the envelope. Not a ton of amenities, but great for your basics. Pack in, pack out.
The campground is conveniently located close to Horseshoe Bend and Lake Powell. There are biking, hiking and running trails nearby. There is a playground with a trail around it in the campground, but there is not a dog park.
The sites are pull through, gravel sites with full hook-ups. They were slightly uneven, but spacious. The bathroom amenities weren’t clean, there was hair all over the shower. They also provide wagon rentals which looked pretty neat, if you don’t have a camper, but want to stay overnight in the area.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay but wouldn’t rate the bathroom/shower amenities highly.
This campground is very cool! Great view of Lake Powell and surrounding rock formations. Great for swimming, camping, pets, etc. No fire rings, but bathrooms are available. 4WD not necessary for some parts, but definitely necessary if wanting to drive down the beach through the sand. Tent and RV camping allowed, no reservations. Must pay the Glenn Canyon entrance fee unless you have a National Park Pass. Camping is an additional $14/night fee.
Location: excellent proximity to the Grand Canyon, Horseshoe Bend and Antelope Upper & Lower Slot Canyons. Within approximately 1 hour to each. The campground is situated on Lake Powell with breath taking views. 15 minute drive from Page, Arizona which offers lots of tourism activities, shopping etc.
Park: Well run resort, very clean, very nice. Each concrete pad was level and well positioned for a beautiful view of the lake. There is great spacing between sites. There are several loops to spread everyone out and limit traffic from other loops. They have lots of walking and biking trails. Access to the lake and docks, and boat storage.
Sites: Each site has a level concrete pad and full hook ups and an incredible view of the lake.
Cellular: ok T-Mobile, we couldn’t stream videos but Facebook, email, calling we’re all able to be utilized.
Absolutely stunning sunrise & sunset & you're right next to the white sandstone that separates UT from the AZ border. Super cool spot close to Lake Powell (on the AZ side) as well as Lone Rock (UT) & Horseshoe Bend (in Page). Not far from Hoodoos trail either, highly recommend. No shade at this campsite, please be sure to pack it in, pack it out. Keep this space beautiful!
We needed a spot to stay for the night near lake Powell on our way further west in Utah. This worked out nicely with our 20 foot trailer(with space to turn around). Nice views at sunset and plenty of space for the pups to run around. Very very windy the night we stayed, but otherwise a lovely spot!
Stayed 7/18/20- FREE
Our site was situated on a “corner”, overlooking Lake Powell and with beautiful rocks behind us. Coming from AZ, this area is just passed the entrance to Lone Rock Campground, on the left. The turn is just beyond the guard rail. You can see a brown sign off the road some. Once you cross the first cattle guard, you come to an opening with a small trail forward, and a site on the right. Take a left passed the second cattle guard and there is more room to spread out around the abandoned farm equipment. We setup on a“peninsula-like” area. You could see Lake Powell and Lone Rock itself from our site. Would absolutely stay here again. If you’re not looking to be around the crowds of the main campgrounds, this is perfect! No facilities.
Very little AT&T service.
Dispersed camping options around Lake Powell provide an alternative to established campgrounds. Sites along Ferry Swale Road offer minimal amenities but feature sweeping canyon views. According to campers, the roads are accessible for standard vehicles despite being unpaved. The terrain surrounding Lake Powell consists primarily of sandstone formations with elevations ranging from 3,700 to 4,300 feet, creating dramatic temperature variations between seasons.
Sunrise photography at panoramic viewpoints: The open terrain at Ferry Swale Rd - BLM Dispersed Campsite provides unobstructed views of morning light on the canyons. "Big open land with a choice of roads to find your spot. Some minimal highway noise but it didn't bother us," notes Julie M.
Kayaking from beach campsites: At Lone Rock Beach Primitive Camping Area, campers can launch directly from their sites. "Daytime dips in the lake, nighttime lakeside fires. Perfection," reports Chris S., highlighting the water access benefits.
Hiking through Cathedral Wash: The trail near Lees Ferry Campground offers geological exploration. One camper describes it as "magical because as you descend you are going through the layers of sediment that you can see in the Vermillion Cliffs."
Sandy beach camping: The shoreline at Lone Rock Beach allows camping directly on the sand. "Great spot on the water! Can get as close to the lake as you want or short walk down to the beach area. Tons of open space available," explains Erin C.
Dump station with fresh water access: Practical amenities make extended stays easier. "There is a dump station and potable water. Cost was $14 and find your spot," notes Francois T. about Lone Rock Beach facilities.
Wind protection features: Lees Ferry Campground offers strategic site design. "Most picnic tables have shade structures and there are privacy barriers between many of the campsites," according to one reviewer, providing relief from the frequently windy conditions.
Road conditions for dispersed sites: Access to remote areas requires planning. At State Line Spot Dispersed Camping, "The road can be easily driven by all campers (RV, Trailers, etc. No need for 4x4). If any rain has come through, I'd scout ahead as the road is sandy and could get washed out," advises Noah E.
Sand management strategies: Beach camping comes with challenges. "You won't miss it. The camp host is located here along with a huge dumpster for your trash, RV dump, and fresh water which is all included in the price of your campsite," explains Bethany W. about the upper area at Lone Rock Beach where sand is less problematic.
Cell service limitations: Connectivity varies significantly. Corral Dispersed camping offers "Weak to absent cell connection," according to camper Raph B., while other sites closer to Page maintain stronger signals.
Swimming areas with gradual entry: Certain sections of shoreline offer safer water access. At Page Lake Powell Campground, "We stayed right on the lake, at a clean and spacious campsite," notes Samantha G., highlighting the family-friendly swimming access.
Weather preparation essentials: The region experiences extreme conditions. "When we were there the winds were 40mph gusting to 50mph so sand was all over the place," warns Francois T., suggesting families bring goggles and secure tent stakes.
Educational hiking opportunities: Canyons provide natural science lessons. "Also, take time to check out Navajo Bridge Monument. The condors hang out on the bridge structures. You will be able to capture amazing pictures," recommends a Lees Ferry camper.
Leveling requirements: Many sites feature sloping terrain. At Roam America Horseshoe Bend, "Note: many of the sites are sloping so be ready to level a bit," advises Kim G.
Beach sand driving techniques: RVers report varying experiences at Lone Rock Beach. "You pick and choose your spot anywhere you want on the beach! Just be cautious of areas of sand but most of the beach is easy to drive on," explains Brandon F.
Dog-friendly campground amenities: For those seeking pet-friendly facilities, Roam America Horseshoe Bend provides "Wonderful large dog park and the best laundry facilities I've seen," according to Donna H., making it suitable for extended stays with pets.
