    Serendipity Bay RV Resort

Peaceful but sites too close together

Very well-maintained and pet-friendly RV park with various amenities such as a pool, fishing pier, and dog park. Sites are very close together with little room to set up outside between RVs. Very little room to park vehicle once RV is in place and limited space to back in. Enjoyed the peaceful sunrises and sunsets and the constant breeze was a plus to keep the humidity and heat down. Take plenty of anti-mosquito repellent, as around mid-morning and late afternoon, the mosquitoes come out in force. A good location for those wishing to fish, but not sightseeing. The town has very few amenities and only a couple of restaurants and small stores.

    Victoria City RV Park

    Riverside RV Park, Victoria, Texas

The city of Victoria operates a very nice RV park adjoining the city’s recreational complex. 18 pull through sites have full hookups and are generously spaced. Cost is $12.00 per night and all sites are “first come, first served”. 50 amp service is available on each site.

The park is located within a park and adjacent to the park is a paved walking/biking path that if taken to the south, leads over to the Guadalupe River. Along the river is a 18 hole City golf course, minor league baseball field, duck pond and a children’s museum. All beautiful landscaped and maintained by the city of Victoria.

I highly recommend this park and I would certainly stay here again in the future!!

    Hub City RV Park

Very nice city park - Hidden Gem alert!

We came into this park on the 4th day of the big Texas freeze this past winter. Unfortunate for them,  pipe broke and they were out of water at the time. But it was fixed a couple days after we arrived.

Now as for the park. It has a section of 30 amp services which are in some shades and are on concrete, a newer area in the park has been created which for the most part is in a field, with new 50 amp service and are on grass. All sites have water and sewer as well. There are seasonal/annuals in the park I would say about 25% of 30amp service is. If you choose to be one, you need to go to the town and get a permit otherwise there is a two week limit to camp here.

We use ATT on Nomad Internet and Verizon & T-Mobile on our phones, ATT Wi-Fi was 4 bars and our phones were each 3 bars and no issues with any of the services,

There is  bath house located in the center of the park as you come into the entrance. The park is on a "park and hook up and then pay" system. After setting up to go to the front of the bathhouse and leave a check or cash into a box. The city of Yoakum maintains the park and it is well kept. Garbage dumpster is free and available as well. There is a playground for kids as well  as right next to a full size golf course. So you could get into your golf cart and right over to the clubhouse while never getting on a roadway.  The cost is very cheap, we paid $13 a night with senior discount, regular price is $15  That is FHU!! You will hear a plan or two during the day as there is a small airport down the street, but the low flying small planes are not too disturbing. The town of Yoakum is 5 minutes from your location and it has a Family dollar and a H.E.B as well as a few cool shops.

If your ever out that way and need a place to stay that is friendly, clean and quiet for the most part, you won't be disappointed.

    El Campo Lost Lagoon

    Best pool in Texas

As noted in other reviews, this is a GREAT place to come to with our without kids. They are always hosting activities and there is a place to grab a bite to eat by the pool if you don't feel like going back to the rv to cook. If you have a toy hauler the 🎣 pond side is beautiful and quiet, just back in and let the party patio down!

Campsite with picnic table, lantern pole and fire ring.

    No Park WiFi.

Guide to Edna

RV camping near Edna, Texas provides options for outdoor enthusiasts in the coastal plains region. Located approximately 25 miles from Matagorda Bay, this area experiences Gulf Coast weather patterns with high humidity and warm temperatures most of the year. Campgrounds in the region provide varying levels of access to both freshwater and saltwater recreation opportunities.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: At Matagorda Bay Nature Park, visitors can access multiple fishing environments. "Great location at the junction of the Colorado River and the Gulf of Mexico. Clean and spacious lots, not over crowded. Nature center with interactive exhibits, gift shop, snacks, mini golf and 5 minute walk to beach. Great sunset viewing," reports Crystal E.

Beach access: Matagorda Bay Nature and RV Park offers convenient beach options. "Walk to the beach or there is access to drive on the beach I would advise a 4wheel drive vehicle. I've been to this campground a few times," notes Ricky B. The park also provides guided beach experiences for those interested in learning about coastal ecology.

Water activities: Boating and paddling options exist at several area parks. "This location is absolutely awesome. Right where the Colorado River flows into the Gulf of Mexico. The fishing is awesome and the sunsets are spectacular! There isn't any shade, so I think it's best to go in the fall or spring," suggests Debbie J. from Matagorda Bay Nature Park.

What campers like

Clean facilities: Many campers appreciate well-maintained grounds and bathrooms. At Twin Lakes RV Park, a camper noted, "Washateria is also very clean. I'm giving this place 4 stars, but only because of the gravel roads which may be a hurdle for some RVers. It was not an issue for us. We'll be back."

Cost value: Victoria City RV Park receives positive feedback for its affordability. "Clean, cheap, easy access. This RV Park is situated along a creek which separates it from the rest of the park. There are 18 full hookup stations here, all are drive-thru. This place is very basic, not much of a view. It's clean and well kept by the city," states Drexel M.

Waterfront sites: Campers enjoy direct water access at select parks. "Nicely equipped RV park right on water. Paid a few more dollars to have a pull thru site with FHU, cable & level concrete pad to pull on to," shares Stuart K. about Serendipity Bay RV Resort.

What you should know

Weather considerations: Coastal conditions affect camping comfort throughout the year. "When the ocean 'breeze' died down and the humidity was up, we were attacked by swarms of mosquitos which required us to heavily apply repellent in mid-February," warns a camper at Matagorda Bay Nature and RV Park.

Limited amenities in small towns: Many campgrounds are in remote locations with minimal services. "Not much in the town of Matagorda, basically a fishing village, and of those businesses, not many operating in mid-February," notes one reviewer.

Site spacing: Serendipity Bay RV Resort has mixed reviews about site proximity. "Sites are very close together with little room to set up outside between RVs. Very little room to park vehicle once RV is in place and limited space to back in," reports Jon L.
