      Myrtle Beach KOA

      Disappointed

We stayed 5 nights in a two room camping cabin with our two dachshunds. This campground has been around for a long time and it shows. They do an excellent job at keeping the campground neat and clean, but some of the little things are falling apart and they haven’t made any updates in a while. This koa offers a free service - a shuttle down to the beach. At the time we visited there, the city was dredging the beach and had the public access that the koa drops people off at blocked off. Instead of dropping off at the access that was open, they took you to the one that was blocked off and made you walk to the next public access which was several blocks away. We were disappointed in this since we’re older. Myrtle Beach koa has been a favorite campground of ours and we’ve stayed there many times, but each time we go, we feel like there’s no attention to detail and things are starting to get run down.

      LumberJack RV Park

      Top Notch RV Park

You cannot go wrong staying here! Great prices and excellent service!! We arrived right before dark, my husband turned off the truck and when he went to start it again, it would not start. The starter had went out in his truck, and we were still hooked to the camper, partially blocking the road in the RV park. The owners did not have a problem with our truck staying in the road through the night, and they were so helpful, and even took my husband to the auto parts store at 7:30 the next morning to get a new starter. Along with the owners, others staying in this campground was super friendly, and offering their help. This is our second stay in this RV park, and definitely won't be our last!

      Myrtle Beach State Park Campground

      Myrtle Beach State Park

Really great campground Convenient to Surfside beach and Myrtle Beach. Beware of the airport though. That’s why I don’t give it 5*. The first planes fly out around 6-630am. It’s fun to watch but really loud consistently all day. The park is so nice and convenient that the planes are worth it. Just beware the sites in the 200/300 range are far more private

      Pitts Landing Dispersed

      Good Overnight Stop

Gravel road with a few flat sites that are level. Very Quiet except for some distant road noise. There is litter scattered about. Overall a good overnight stop.

      Apache Family Campground

      A Family Tradition

I’ve been coming to this campground since I was about 5. My grandparents camped here, my parents now own a permanent place here, and we just purchased a camper to vacation here. It’s a wonderful community feel! There’s activities for all ages and the grounds are well kept.

      Brunswick Beaches RV Resort

      Nice Campground near the beach

Well maintained, clean, relatively few full-timers. Perfect for a long weekend or week near enough to the beach

      Lynches River County Park

      Clean quiet and spacious

I was impressed by the cleanliness and the amenities available at this campground. There’s a dog park, splash pad and climbing wall(hours depend on the time of year) There are also walking trails and a way to access the water.

Lots of room at the site so even if it was busy, still wouldn’t be too close to neighbors!

Camping near Nichols, South Carolina primarily centers around established campgrounds within a 30-mile radius, with sandy terrain and mild winters making it suitable for year-round camping. The region sits within the Pee Dee River basin watershed, characterized by blackwater river systems and Carolina Bay formations that create distinctive lake ecosystems. Most campgrounds maintain operations throughout all four seasons with varying occupancy rates and availability.

    What to do

Fishing at waterfront sites: Little Pee Dee State Park provides fishing opportunities at Lake Norton, which features distinctive water coloring from the Carolina Bay ecosystem. A visitor noted, "The lake is absolutely beautiful, and one of my favorite things about this park. Part of the lake is from the Carolina Bay, and the coloring of the water is gorgeous."

Hiking local trails: Explore walking paths around campgrounds for wildlife viewing and nature observation. At Little Pee Dee State Park Campground, "The trails are easy to navigate. The camp sites are set up next to a large pond. From there the trails basically bring you on a trek around the pond. Many geese and birds are easy to spot as they enjoy the water."

Water recreation: Several campgrounds offer non-motorized boating options. According to one camper at Little Pee Dee, "Locals often come here for fishing and non-motorized boating. We were fortunate to witness a mass crayfish event--the recent flooding had brought them out of the swamp and up the spillway, much to the delight of seafood lovers."

Mini-golf and recreation: Family-focused campgrounds like Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Daddy Joe's offer activities beyond natural attractions. "Laser Tag. Splash pad. Water slides. Indoor and outdoor pool. Playgrounds. Dog parks. Putt-Putt. Ice Cream. Fishing. Basketball. Volleyball. Horse shoes…and our kids did it all."
