    Eagle's RV Campground

    No frills

Overnight stop, kinda tight getting off the 2 lane road into the entrance. Not too far from 95. Traffic was noisy as we had a spot right up front. Works for an overnight but nothing more.

    Magnolia Springs State Park Campground

Clean park with plenty to do

Stayed for 2 nights in Site #3. Was called prior to arrival regarding checking in. Missed "closing time" but went to site and checked in next morning.  The Park fee is not included in the camping fee with is a bit of a pain, but I actually received a partial refund since the Senior rate was not included in my reservation.

Plenty of well marked trails to hike, a nice lake, beautiful spring, and if you are interested a thorough Museum about the Civil war prison camp that was located on the grounds. (Note: there is no swimming at the spring)

Sites are level with good power and water.  I felt they were a bit close, but we are not campground people.  #3 seemed one of the most private, even though right across from the Hosts and near the Bathhouse.  The Bathhouse was very clean and new.

Made in the Shade RV Park and Campground

Made in the Shade is a jewel in Georgia

This campground was quiet and tranquil. Large oaks and mature trees. Camping paradise. Immaculate grounds and facilities. Water, electric and gray water dumps at each site. Washers and dryers. Gravel sites, but it’s a place I hate to leave. Pet friendly and great staff.  Nice playground and horseshoes area as well!

Super nice KOA with a coffee, wine and beer bar

Former KOA of the year campground. Just off the freeway with a bit of highway noise but heavily wooded and just plain beautiful.

    Camelot Farms Equestrian Center

    Terrible Customer Service

This is such a shame. I have always enjoyed going to Camelot Farms and have been every year for the past several years. I was initially excited to hear Camelot had opened back up the camping facilities and decided that although the price has increased 300% as compared to before the sale, I would continue my tradition of beach riding with my best friend. I contacted Gini Quade who had stated in several posts on FB to reach out and she could facilitate this trip. She also provided a number to call. I have called the number several times this week with no response. I then reached out again through text message and the message was read but no reply. Again, I tried calling only to find out I was provided the wrong number. I reached out yet again through FB to let Ms. Quade know that I was provided the wrong number and requested the correct number. Yet again the message was read with zero response. Unfortunately, the weekend has now arrived and STILL cannot get a response. I will be contacting management. Good luck to all of you who try to plan a trip. I hope you have much more success than I have had. This has been a very disappointing experience.

    Very quaint little campground.

Stopped on the way to Maggie Valley NC. Nice half way spot from Fl. Full hookups available. Our 35 ft rv fit perfect in the spot. They are dirt/sand sites. The camp store wasn’t opened when we were there for the 1 night. Right beside a cow farm to look at. A fishing pond is available but the water was super murky. Everyone was friendly. Fire pit available. Would recommend. Super cool playground with an awesome swing. See video. 😊

    Black Pearl Farms

    Rustic

CAUTION:  The directions provided by The Dyrt to this location are incorrect.  It is not located on Sand Hill.  So please use Google Maps to find the location or you will be down a long dirt road with no place to turn around.

Black Pearl Farms fit most of our expectations.  However, I did make some poor assumptions regarding the information.  We were in spot 3 which had "access to power and water".  Which was true, but not what I assumed.  The site was a few yards away from a wash area to get water from and there was a 12 volt power cord outside to plug into.

Our dog loved having the space to roam around and the camping spots were in a wooded area behind the farm.  We stayed in number 3, but if we return our preference would be for number 2.

Anyway, it was a nice spot once we arrived.

    Point South KOA

    Great experience

We stopped for one night on our way north. We had a ok site. The two best sites are 52 and 16. This KOA had a nice clean pool, a big chess game, panning for gold, a playground, a lake, a neat old phone booth that is a lending library and the Mermaid Coffee bar and Cafe. They do wine and beer tastings or you can just buy a glass of either. The sell Hunts brothers Pizzas that were cooked in a pizza machine, they were great. They have a small store if you need some things. This KOA has some cabins that are nice looking, a few of them are old train caboose’s. Very nice place to visit. To top it off a beautiful sunset.

Great Park for long term stay

Great place to set up camp. The landlord is very attentive and is always looking for a way to go the extra mile. It is very quiet with well behaved children at play. I highly recommend!!!

    Large sites, quiet, well maintained

Large gravel sites most can accomodate 40 ft RV some smaller pads as well but plenty of room between your neighbors.  Bathrooms are very clean, loads of hot water and private. A separate laundry room is available, The park is quiet and well patrolled by sheriff, so very safe. Stayed for three months on a travel nursing assignment, great on site management. Wifi works well, I was able to stream netflix with it.

    Peaceful and quiet

A very peaceful and friendly atmosphere in a country setting. The owners are very friendly and well mannered country people. Everyone that we met were polite and liked sharing. It does have a fishing pond and the guest are welcome to use it. I would recommend everyone that comes through St. George to visit this lovely place whether it’s one night to rest, a few days to get away, stop in. Pet friendly and has a playground for the kids to play .

    Nice but no cell coverage

Nice campsite, full hookups, enjoyed the lightning bugs, great place to enjoy camping and getting away from electronics since no cell phone signal for T-Mobile and no wifi in campground, definitely need to wear your bug repellent

very nice clean, quiet, family owned park

We stayed here for 6 months and hated to leave. The manager Morgan was so kind and attentive to everyone's needs. There was plenty of room to run for the dogs. Our 50 Amp site was level and spacious. Laundry machines on site and private showers! The bathhouse was very clean! Gravel/dirt pad and roads all well maintained. Wifi was excellent and we could stream Netflix and Hulu. Great Verizon cell service. Wonderful gem of an RV park! The location was quiet and beautiful, surrounded by woods and fields.

    Tuck in the Wood Campground

    Great little place!

As a primitive tent camper, the price was a little steep at $34 per night, however.. very quiet and fairly private on the tent camping side of things. Showers and bath house in general was always clean and campground owners very nice and welcoming. I'd definitely stay again! The no-see-ems were pretty thick in a tent site in early April, so bring bug spray if you want to sit outside during the day.

    Stoney Crest Plantation Campground

Roadside RV Pasture Near Hilton Head

If you suddenly find yourself in northern Georgia in and around Savannah(arguably the coolest place in the entire South) and find yourself in need of parking your mobile camping unit for the night, then Stoney Crest Plantation Campground might be a good place for you to consider. While this camping depot indicates that they offer up tent camping, my own impression is that this is squarely an RV-focused lot, with about 30 or so pull-thru and back-in sites offering all of the typical hook-ups(water, sewage, 50/ 30/ 20 amp electric) as well as designated trash and recycling bins. Located just off of May River Road due north and east of Savannah, Stoney Crest is little more than a grassy knoll for RVs to park for the night(or semi-permanently, as a number of RVs would hint at). One of the great upsides to this location is its proximity to toney Hilton Head Island(just 10 miles away), so if you are looking for proximity to paradise, without the price tag, then Stoney Crest Plantation has you covered. Here at pet-friendly Stoney Crest they offer coin-operated laundry room(2 washer and dryers) facilities, swimming pool, playground, restroom and shower facilities(although I will admit, in dire need of a super cleaning and updated refurbishment), TV/ recreation room, 2 vending machines(note: no on-site market or store) nature-walking trails and complimentary WiFi. Insider’s tips? Here’s a few:(1) If you are looking to‘hit the links’ then there’s a great golf club just due north of Stoney Crest called Hampton Hall Club, which has a simply fantastic 18 holes for you to sink some little white balls in;(2) When you get tired of investigating what might be left in your cooler with which to make a meal and want to explore the local surroundings, then I highly recommend you give‘Squat‘N’ Gobble’ a shot as they have some outstanding‘Low Country’ food options, including Low Country Boil(shrimp, corn on the cob, andouille sausage, red potatoes) and Fried Chicken;(3) Nearby you’ll discover there’s a‘sculpture garden’ in Palmetto Oaks that offers up unique man-made sculptures in the midst of nature;(4) Decent(not amazing) hikes in nearby Saint Joseph’s and Oscar Frazier Parks; and(5) If antebellum South is of interest to you, there’s Heyward House Museum and Welcome Center that displays a lot of the pre-Civil War customs, culture and way-of-life before the South was overtaken by the North. Happy Camping!

Waynesboro, GA….Just ok. Probably wouldn’t make an effort to come back.

Campground was easy to find. It went south once we entered the campground. There is no signage to tell you anything. The manager who was very sweet had told me she would send me information but I didn’t receive anything. She got confused on the dates and was very apologetic. We drove all over the area looking for the office. There was a trailer that had a shower in one end and laundry in the other and a door marked private which “May” have been the office but we’ll never know. We have a 42’ 5th wheel and dragging this thing behind us around the campground was quite the adventure. Nobody seemed to know where the office was….we ended up at a dead end that was like a culdesac and someone parked their SUV on the curve instead of in their drive and it took us a while to spin the monster around. We could have sold tickets as we had an audience. Dinner and a movie I guess!! Finally got headed in the right direction and a guy in a pick up stopped and took us to his leader. We used actually 2 sites to park. It was full service, pretty quiet, lots of full time people. Not much grass, mostly sand and tree roots where we were parked. Nice sized dog park. Internet was poor. They have 2 different Wi-Fi’s to use neither of them were good. Our hotspot didn’t work well either- seems to be a dead area. I have AT&T cell service and had service at the camper but not while trolling through the park so I could call the office of course.

    Mixed feelings

Manager was super nice. Offered to help me set up knowing I was a newbie at rv camping.

Bathrooms/showers were dated but very clean.

I felt safe (not at first though) and my neighbor to one side lived there and was very kind. Very quite park. Site was small and almost couldn’t put my awning out. Picnic table was unusable.

It had the feeling of a trailer park. So many people live there full time.

This company is refusing to refund me over $400 for their mistake.

This company is refusing to refund me over $400 for their mistake. Scheduled ride for 4 at 10:00am the next day through their website. Received call from manager at 9:00pm that evening with schedule conflict. Offered to cancel, but manager stated he would call back in the morning to let us know whether they could accommodate us or not. I called the manager back at 9:30am and left a message that we would be cancelling and requested my card be refunded since we had not heard back from him. A few weeks later, I contacted the owner and she was only willing to refund$125 for one rider, claiming that they had horses ready and waiting for us. We would have been there, had the manager not contacted us the night prior. If you choose to ride with this company, pay in person at the time of your session. But I would highly recommend finding another service.
