    Premier RV Resort at Eugene

    Well Managed Campground

This is a large campground, mostly populated by big rigs, and mostly long term stays. Looked like a lot of people were working in the area. Almost all of the RV's there are very nice - no long term stay hoarder scenes. The roads are paved, majority of sites are pull through, photos on Dyrt are accurate. We had a 30 amp site and all of the utilities were well maintained and arranged well. Water pressure was good. Everything is well maintained. The women in the office were friendly, efficient, and helpful. It is a very dog friendly park and there is lots of room for dogs but everyone picked up after dogs and we heard almost zero barking. There were a few kids there but they were quiet except for a little play time in the afternoons. Downsides: a couple of the machines in the laundry were out of service (but the others worked well); there is a lot of road noise from I-5; cellular reception is sketchy. The road noise varies a lot though so ask for a site close to the office or in the older section. The new sites farther back are closer to the interstate. The road noise was much less annoying than we anticipated and we slept well. There is a TA truck stop nearby for filling up as well as a diner and a McDonalds. Of course, driving into Eugene to eat is easy enough. We had just 1 bar of Verizon and it was unusable but we had 3 bars of ATT which worked well. The do have a dog wash station toward the back of the park and also a car wash station that is easily accessible on the main road. We stayed for 3 nights while taking care of some things in Eugene and it worked out well for us. If only this place was farther off the road it would really be great.

    Premier RV Resort

    Nice CG, but small sites

We are full-timers in a 36 ft Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow. We were in site 57 for 4 days in mid September. Very friendly staff. The CG is clean, quiet and well maintained, but the sites are fairly short and narrow. As others have mentioned, tow vehicles usually extend into or are parked partially on the roads through the CG, but the roads are fairly wide throughout the CG. Also, our slides extended well past the concrete pad on both sides, leaving very little room to get around our RV. The sewer connections are not threaded, so you’ll have to weigh down your sewer hose. There is a fair bit of road noise from the highway. There is a nice open area, off leash pen and network of short trails for walking your dog. AT&T coverage was fair, ranging from 2-4 bars of 5G with speeds up to 19 MB/s. The CG WiFi speed varied considerably, from next to useless up to 1 MB/s. We were able to get DISH coverage on all three western satellites at our site. There were 11 OTA channels to be had with our fixed omni antenna.

Armitage Park & Campground - a Lane County Park

    Book this one early!

Located near Eugene, OR, this is one of the few local campgrounds near us.

Open year round and it is usually full year round as well. Reservations are definitely a must for this small campground!

This campground has all the amenities! Full hook up sites, toilets/ showers, laundry, swimming/boat ramp, picnic area, and even a dog park. Wide variety of site sizes and can accommodate most RV sizes. There are also hiking trails nearby.

Close to town so you can easily get forgotten supplies or groceries. Perfect stay for a quick overnight when in town for Ducks games or just getting out of the house!

Definitely recommend checking this one out if your in the area!

Silver Spur RV Park & Resort

    Not terrible.

I ended up here last minute due to weather on the Oregon coast. I’m in a 40’ coach. It’s a very well kept RV park, a lot of long term residents were here. The office is very nice, the lawns are very nice, the office parking lot is asphalt. Has a nice little children’s play area. There are very bumpy gravel driveways to the RV parking spots (possibly just the time of year causing the poor road condition). The RV spaces are very easy to get into being angled. We stayed in a pull through space, easy in and easy out. Only giving a 4star rating for the very small RV spaces. Was very crammed for anything more than a last minute stay.

    Blue Ox RV Park

Disneyland is not the happiest place on earth

This is the happiest place on RV Earth! What a beautiful park! Amazing trees of every kind and flowers and bushes all cared for meticulously. Great wi-fi. Management is exceptional! Indoor pool, multiple laundry rooms, rec room - all spotlessly clean. Close easy access to freeway but minimal noise. Full hookups of course, Wi-Fi is strong and fast, 48 channels of sharp cable TV picture. We are putting this on our A list and will return whenever we're passing through this area again. Two bars of 5G Verizon. Beautiful city soccer fields and park just outside the entrance to the park. Great place to walk and relax. Recommend.

    Whitcomb Creek County Park

Camping on a peninsula in the mist of Green Peter

Your in the woods at this location, bring your boats/canoe/kayak the reservoir is huge to explore.

The campground is only open in the summer and as of 2018 has some wonderful updates on Loop “A” and Loop “C” (new tables, and site pads, and fire rings). Loop “B” is still rustic and not a bad site to sit. There are a few Double site can hold two campers. There is not water or electricity, bring it in and pack it out. Can accommodate big rigs, or small tents. There are four pull through sites. Best to RSVP through ww.linnparks.com on popular weekends or take your change for any open sites, if no sites available head up Quartzville past mile marker 17 and park along the road for free, only where there are metal fire rings.

    Sun Outdoors Portland South

    Glamping

This was my first experience at an RV Resort. It is located right of the interstate but feels secluded. They have both back in and pull through sites, a little tight with neighbors but I was told it is better than other RV resorts. Beautiful landscaping, indoor pool and hot tub, small market, laundry facilities, horseshoe pits on beautiful grassy area. Yes to dogs and cats and no breed restrictions! They have a nice grassy area with poop bags! Bummer no fires 🙁 If fire pits I’d give the 5th star! Also, within 15-20 mins there are amazing countryside, wine tasting, hiking/walking, Willamette River with off leash areas for dogs, and downtown Portland. Additionally there is an off leash park 8 mins away. Overall a good experience, we enjoyed our stay. My photos don’t show much of the place but their website’s photos represent well.

    Humbug Campground

    Love it here

Humbug is one of our favorite campgrounds. We love the easy access to the beach and the beautiful hikes.  Showers are hot and free, rangers are always friendly.

Cell service is pretty iffy here, but we manage to make it work with the cell booster.

There's a dump station and water fill, trash and recycling, water spigots throughout campground, and firewood for sale.

Tent sites in Oregon don't currently have the 25% non-resident surcharge (though I've heard that's changing soon) and there are plenty of non-hookup/tent sites that will fit RVs. There are also FHU and pull through sites.

Guide to Stayton

RV sites near Stayton, Oregon offer access to the Willamette Valley's diverse terrain at elevations between 400-500 feet. The region features mild year-round climate with summer temperatures averaging 75-85°F and winters rarely dropping below freezing. Campgrounds provide full hookup services with varying degrees of privacy between sites and specific outdoor equipment policies.

What to do

River activities: Access the Santiam River from Gills Landing RV Park in Lebanon. The campground sits directly on the river with hiking and biking paths. "Directly on the river with hiking/biking paths. 20 full hookup sites with locked safe restrooms/coin showers. Camp host greets upon arrival and provides area maps and complimentary tokens for showers," reports James and Susan K.

Shopping excursions: Walk to outlet stores from Portland-Woodburn RV Park. Located behind Woodburn Outlet Mall with a private entrance. "You can walk to several restaurants and the outlet mall. There is a great laundry room, clean bathrooms and showers, pool, pet areas, and nicely paved, level, but crowded sites," notes Jim J.

Explore nearby towns: Day trips to Salem, Albany, and Silverton are easy from most campgrounds. Blue Ox RV Park in Albany provides a central location. "Close easy access to freeway but minimal noise. Full hookups of course, Wi-Fi is strong and fast, 48 channels of sharp cable TV picture," shares Mike E.

What campers like

Clean facilities: Consistently maintained washrooms at Emerald Valley RV Park near Jefferson. "Bathhouse was clean and modern. Sites were level and good WiFi. Overall site was clean and well maintained," mentions George L., who stayed at the park in 2022.

Kid-friendly amenities: Recreational options at Silver Spur RV Park & Resort in Silverton. "There was also plenty to do around the campsite between fishing, the small kids park and the park provided activity's (corn hole, etc.)," writes Josh H., adding that both staff and fellow campers were welcoming.

Indoor recreation: Year-round swimming options at multiple locations. "Been here several months and has been a pleasure. Great staff. Multiple Laundry Rooms, heated indoor pool, recreation area indoors. Hour from the coast, hour from ski areas and plenty to do in and around Albany," notes Dennis H. about Blue Ox RV Park.

What you should know

Variable WiFi performance: Internet speeds and reliability differ widely between parks. At Knox Butte RV Park, "Their WiFi is also excellent. Very easy access to and from I-5," according to Michael C. However, at Silver Spur RV Park, another camper reports, "WiFi Sucks, 1.84 Mbps download/ .37 Mbps Upload."

Road noise considerations: Some RV sites near Stayton experience traffic noise. At Premier RV Resort in Salem, "There is a fair bit of road noise from the highway," mentions Ray & Terri F. Similarly, at Silver Spur, "the B lot backs right up to the highway with unbearable road noise. Had two nights planned but will be leaving after the first," reports Scott S.

Strict rules at some parks: Certain campgrounds enforce detailed regulations. "They allow absolutely NOTHING except for a bbq grill to be outside & around your camper. You cannot put stuff in your lawn area, like Christmas lights," explains Elizabeth G. about Hee Hee Illahee RV Resort.

Tips for camping with families

Cabin alternatives: Consider yurt rentals for non-RV family stays. Premier RV Resorts of Salem offers fully-equipped yurts. "We had a darling porch with bbq and picnic table, Keurig coffee maker, 2 bedrooms, dining table and living room too! Cable tv as well," writes K L., who rented a yurt last summer.

Budget-friendly options: Tent camping with electricity available at select parks. "I've camped at Salem RV Park twice now and love it! Stayed in a tent site w electricity and hooked up my little lights for ambience," notes K L., who paid about $25 per night.

Pool access: Check for seasonal swimming options when traveling with kids. "We really enjoyed staying here. Friendly staff, brand new washer/dryers, nice facilities, nice big spots," comments Heidi about Phoenix RV Park, one of several facilities in the area with pool access.

Tips from RVers

Site selection: Choose interior spots to minimize road noise. At Portland-Woodburn RV Park, "The location is within easy earshot and access to I-5 freeway. Great for 'I'm on my way to…' Note: Very cramped, I'll need to disconnect the toad and perform multiple back and forths to exit," advises Greg H.

Monthly stays: Long-term rates available at most campgrounds near Stayton. "We have been staying here full time since October 2021 and will be moving on in about a month or so. Many full timers live here but it's a convenient spot to park for a few days at a time or full time," shares Laurie about Portland-Woodburn RV Park.

Site limitations: Plan for compact spaces at many locations. At Knox Butte RV Park in Albany, "Everything is paved, the sites have nice clean picnic tables, and plenty of green Lush grass," reports Robert R., though many reviewers at other parks note tight spacing between RVs.
