Hiking trail networks: Silver Falls State Park Campground provides access to multiple trail systems beyond the famous Trail of Ten Falls. "THE most beautiful park in Oregon that we've seen! Hiked for 5 hours! BEWARE: It's WET, so bring your wet weather gear, and good, sturdy hiking shoes for slippery terrain," notes Melissa L.
Disc golf courses: Waterloo County Park offers an 18-hole disc golf course through forested terrain. "Waterloo is pretty open and has some bike trails and some parks and a pretty great disc golf course! The water is really cold but perfect for a day outside or a picnic with the kids!" shares Ally T.
Water recreation options: Green Peter Reservoir at Whitcomb Creek County Park provides boating and fishing opportunities. "Your in the woods at this location, bring your boats/canoe/kayak the reservoir is huge to explore," suggests Cindy U. The park features a boat launch with limited shoreline swimming access.
Adventure activities: Try the treetop canopy obstacle course at Camp Dakota for a unique outdoor experience. "We had a great time at Camp Dakota. Our yurt was comfortable and we enjoyed disc golf, archery, axe throwing, a fun general store and an escape room. We came in thinking it was a little on the spendy side, to ending up thinking it was a bargain," writes Bjorn S.

Heated glamping structures: Yurts at Champoeg State Heritage Area Campground provide year-round comfort for luxury camping near Stayton. "The yurts are heated, and a couple of them are pet friendly, which is great for us! There is a small table in each yurt. Theres a couch and a bunk bed for sleeping arrangements, with the lower bunk larger than the top bunk," explains Lana N.
Clean facilities: Campers consistently mention the well-maintained bathrooms and showers at Silver Falls State Park. "Awesome campground. Well maintained. Site spacing is good with lots of privacy between camps. Bathrooms and showers are super nice and clean. Roads and campsites are paved and level. Short drive or hike to the falls," reports Richard H.
Family-friendly infrastructure: Most luxury camping sites near Stayton feature playgrounds and structured activities. "We love hiking the trails and our kids love the playground and river swimming!" shares April F. about Silver Falls State Park Campground.
Peaceful setting: Waterloo County Park offers spacious sites along the Santiam River. "Campground with something for everyone! Right on the river for swimming or fishing. If you drive up the road, you can float down the river to your campground! Spaces are large, and nicely spaced out," explains Chrissy T.

Seasonal closures: Some camping areas have limited access in winter. "The campground is only open in the summer and as of 2018 has some wonderful updates on Loop 'A' and Loop 'C' (new tables, and site pads, and fire rings)," notes Cindy U. about Whitcomb Creek County Park.
