Best RV Parks & Resorts near Lyons, OR

Several RV parks surround Lyons, Oregon, providing year-round accommodations for motorhome travelers. Mallard Creek Golf and RV Resort in Lebanon offers full hookup sites with 30/50 amp service, concrete pads, and big rig access just 11 miles from Lyons. Emerald Valley RV Park in Jefferson features spacious pull-through sites with full hookups and 50 amp electrical service, operating year-round with excellent ratings for RV camping. Gills Landing RV Park in Lebanon provides level sites with water, electric, and sewer connections, accommodating larger motorhomes with their big-rig friendly layout. Blue Ox RV Park in Albany stands out with meticulously maintained grounds and full hookup sites. "The RV spaces are very easy to get into being angled. We stayed in a pull through space, easy in and easy out," noted one traveler about Silver Spur RV Park, though they mentioned the spaces were somewhat cramped for extended stays.

Cell service varies significantly throughout the region's RV campgrounds. Verizon coverage ranges from strong at Blue Ox RV Park to nearly non-existent at some locations, while AT&T generally maintains 1-3 bars across most parks. Dump stations are available at most facilities, though Drakes Forest RV Campsites lacks this amenity. Nearly all parks welcome pets, with designated dog areas at several locations. Seasonal considerations affect pricing and availability, with summer months commanding premium rates at golf-adjacent RV resorts like Mallard Creek. The entrance to some RV sites may present challenges - one reviewer cautioned about steep concrete pad entrances that could cause bottoming out. Propane service is available at select locations, with Eugene Kamping World RV Park offering bulk propane at $3/gallon. Winter travelers should note that all major RV parks in the area remain open year-round, though amenities like pools may close seasonally.

    Premier RV Resort at Eugene

    Well Managed Campground

This is a large campground, mostly populated by big rigs, and mostly long term stays. Looked like a lot of people were working in the area. Almost all of the RV's there are very nice - no long term stay hoarder scenes. The roads are paved, majority of sites are pull through, photos on Dyrt are accurate. We had a 30 amp site and all of the utilities were well maintained and arranged well. Water pressure was good. Everything is well maintained. The women in the office were friendly, efficient, and helpful. It is a very dog friendly park and there is lots of room for dogs but everyone picked up after dogs and we heard almost zero barking. There were a few kids there but they were quiet except for a little play time in the afternoons. Downsides: a couple of the machines in the laundry were out of service (but the others worked well); there is a lot of road noise from I-5; cellular reception is sketchy. The road noise varies a lot though so ask for a site close to the office or in the older section. The new sites farther back are closer to the interstate. The road noise was much less annoying than we anticipated and we slept well. There is a TA truck stop nearby for filling up as well as a diner and a McDonalds. Of course, driving into Eugene to eat is easy enough. We had just 1 bar of Verizon and it was unusable but we had 3 bars of ATT which worked well. The do have a dog wash station toward the back of the park and also a car wash station that is easily accessible on the main road. We stayed for 3 nights while taking care of some things in Eugene and it worked out well for us. If only this place was farther off the road it would really be great.

    Trout Creek

Quiet and Nice - Very Green

This campground in Willamette National Forest is operated by Linn County but is a forest service campground. It has narrow access road off hwy 20 but is paved.

The campground sits along Trout Creek and has semi private sites with picnic tables and fire pits. There are pits toilets and pump water and garbage cans throughout, no recycling.

Heavily shaded with sun peaking through throughout the day. Many sites available on Sunday morning when we were there and some pull throughs.

Reservations can be made but also there is first come first served. There is also a picnic and day use area as well.

    $20/night Open May 21st-Sept

    NO fires at this time

One bar ATT service but no TMobile or Verizon

    Premier RV Resort

    Nice CG, but small sites

We are full-timers in a 36 ft Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow. We were in site 57 for 4 days in mid September. Very friendly staff. The CG is clean, quiet and well maintained, but the sites are fairly short and narrow. As others have mentioned, tow vehicles usually extend into or are parked partially on the roads through the CG, but the roads are fairly wide throughout the CG. Also, our slides extended well past the concrete pad on both sides, leaving very little room to get around our RV. The sewer connections are not threaded, so you’ll have to weigh down your sewer hose. There is a fair bit of road noise from the highway. There is a nice open area, off leash pen and network of short trails for walking your dog. AT&T coverage was fair, ranging from 2-4 bars of 5G with speeds up to 19 MB/s. The CG WiFi speed varied considerably, from next to useless up to 1 MB/s. We were able to get DISH coverage on all three western satellites at our site. There were 11 OTA channels to be had with our fixed omni antenna.

Silver Spur RV Park & Resort

    Not terrible.

I ended up here last minute due to weather on the Oregon coast. I’m in a 40’ coach. It’s a very well kept RV park, a lot of long term residents were here. The office is very nice, the lawns are very nice, the office parking lot is asphalt. Has a nice little children’s play area. There are very bumpy gravel driveways to the RV parking spots (possibly just the time of year causing the poor road condition). The RV spaces are very easy to get into being angled. We stayed in a pull through space, easy in and easy out. Only giving a 4star rating for the very small RV spaces. Was very crammed for anything more than a last minute stay.

    Blue Ox RV Park

Disneyland is not the happiest place on earth

This is the happiest place on RV Earth! What a beautiful park! Amazing trees of every kind and flowers and bushes all cared for meticulously. Great wi-fi. Management is exceptional! Indoor pool, multiple laundry rooms, rec room - all spotlessly clean. Close easy access to freeway but minimal noise. Full hookups of course, Wi-Fi is strong and fast, 48 channels of sharp cable TV picture. We are putting this on our A list and will return whenever we're passing through this area again. Two bars of 5G Verizon. Beautiful city soccer fields and park just outside the entrance to the park. Great place to walk and relax. Recommend.

    Whitcomb Creek County Park

Camping on a peninsula in the mist of Green Peter

Your in the woods at this location, bring your boats/canoe/kayak the reservoir is huge to explore.

The campground is only open in the summer and as of 2018 has some wonderful updates on Loop “A” and Loop “C” (new tables, and site pads, and fire rings). Loop “B” is still rustic and not a bad site to sit. There are a few Double site can hold two campers. There is not water or electricity, bring it in and pack it out. Can accommodate big rigs, or small tents. There are four pull through sites. Best to RSVP through ww.linnparks.com on popular weekends or take your change for any open sites, if no sites available head up Quartzville past mile marker 17 and park along the road for free, only where there are metal fire rings.

    Humbug Campground

    Love it here

Humbug is one of our favorite campgrounds. We love the easy access to the beach and the beautiful hikes.  Showers are hot and free, rangers are always friendly.

Cell service is pretty iffy here, but we manage to make it work with the cell booster.

There's a dump station and water fill, trash and recycling, water spigots throughout campground, and firewood for sale.

Tent sites in Oregon don't currently have the 25% non-resident surcharge (though I've heard that's changing soon) and there are plenty of non-hookup/tent sites that will fit RVs. There are also FHU and pull through sites.

    Sun Outdoors Portland South

    Glamping

This was my first experience at an RV Resort. It is located right of the interstate but feels secluded. They have both back in and pull through sites, a little tight with neighbors but I was told it is better than other RV resorts. Beautiful landscaping, indoor pool and hot tub, small market, laundry facilities, horseshoe pits on beautiful grassy area. Yes to dogs and cats and no breed restrictions! They have a nice grassy area with poop bags! Bummer no fires 🙁 If fire pits I’d give the 5th star! Also, within 15-20 mins there are amazing countryside, wine tasting, hiking/walking, Willamette River with off leash areas for dogs, and downtown Portland. Additionally there is an off leash park 8 mins away. Overall a good experience, we enjoyed our stay. My photos don’t show much of the place but their website’s photos represent well.

    Cascadia State Park Campground

    Private to Semi-Private

County run campground (despite the “State Park” in the name). It has a more natural feel, and each site has a different layout. Beautiful trees, forest-like atmosphere. Quiet and peaceful during the week. Some sites have a lot of privacy, and some are wide open.

Site #10 was almost completely private and flat. Our 26ft class C fit in this spot. You can hear the creek from this spot and other spots but other spots also have cut throughs to the main trail so be aware of hikers coming up to your spot (except site#10). All sites are first come first serve. No reservations. Hosts on site. We arrived on a Thursday mid day and had our choice of several spots, but all spots filled up by Friday. The weekend crowd was the usual hell raising children running around all campsites, loud music and yelling. MOST people quieted down after 10 pm though.

There are some pull through sites and sites vary in size and length of parking. Picnic table and fire pits at each site. Lots of shade and some sun throughout the day. Sign at the kiosk posted no generator use but people were using them anyway.

$17/night. No dump station here, but there are several water spigots throughout. Dumpster and garbage cans, though no recycling, as well as flush bathrooms, free showers and port-a-potties at the end of the loop.

There is a hiking trail to the falls, though just a trickle this time of year and there were many off shoots of this trail to each camp site. Also there is a very busy river section where kids an adults played and floated in the small pools that were left from dry season.

Two large group camp areas, day use area, and an open clearing (unfenced but natural bushy borders) for pet exercise area.

Weak Verizon- text only, no data or voice.(cell booster did not help).

ATT ok service, usable 1-2 bars. TMobile not available.

    NO FIRES AT THIS TIME.

Guide to Lyons

RV camping near Lyons, Oregon provides access to year-round facilities throughout the Willamette Valley. The region sits at the western edge of the Cascade foothills with elevations ranging from 400-700 feet, creating mild winter conditions that keep campgrounds accessible even during winter months. Most Lyons-area RV parks maintain open status through all seasons with varying levels of amenities and space configurations depending on their proximity to natural features.

What to do

Golfing packages: Mallard Creek Golf and RV Resort in Lebanon (11 miles from Lyons) offers special RV packages that include golf rounds from Memorial Day through September. "Mallard Creek is gear up for the serious golfers so the summer has special packages for the RV site with golfing from Memorial day weekend to the end of September," notes one camper who enjoyed the resort's amenities.

Access to hiking trails: Mt Hood Village Resort provides convenient access to numerous outdoor activities. "The main attraction of this place is the nearby recreation. There is a path that leads to the Wildwood recreation area and within the RV park itself there is access to the Salmon River for fishing/swimming," explains a reviewer who used the park as a base for exploring.

Biking opportunities: Several parks offer dedicated biking paths or are positioned near cycling routes. "There is easy bike riding in the RV park, and right across Hwy 26 is some of the best Mountain Biking in the country at the Sandy Ridge Trail System," mentions a Mt Hood Village camper who appreciated the diverse recreation options.

What campers like

Indoor amenities: Blue Ox RV Park in Albany features heated indoor facilities that visitors consistently praise. "Great staff. Multiple Laundry Rooms, heated indoor pool, recreation area indoors. Hour from the coast, hour from ski areas and plenty to do in and around Albany," reports a long-term resident who appreciated the comprehensive facilities.

Level sites: Gills Landing RV Park in Lebanon offers well-maintained riverside spots. "Great sized campground within the Lebanon city limits. Directly on the river with hiking/biking paths. 20 full hookup sites with locked safe restrooms/coin showers. Camp host greets upon arrival and provides area maps and complimentary tokens for showers," explains a satisfied camper.

Pull-through convenience: Many Lyons-area RV parks feature angled pull-through sites that accommodate larger rigs. "The RV spaces are very easy to get into being angled. We stayed in a pull through space, easy in and easy out," notes a Knox Butte visitor who found the arrangement practical for their stay.

What you should know

Seasonal crowds: Summer months bring higher occupancy to area RV parks, especially those with recreational amenities. "We decided to make this RV park our maiden voyage in our new Travel Trailer. It was pretty pricey for an RV park at the time we booked (+80/night) but then again there isn't much competition that is actually up on the mountain," reports one Mt Hood Village visitor.

Wi-Fi quality varies: Internet connectivity fluctuates significantly across parks. "WiFi Sucks, 1.84 Mbps download/ .37 Mbps Upload," reported one candid Silver Spur RV Park & Resort visitor, while others find adequate connectivity at different locations.

Highway noise: Some parks experience traffic noise due to proximity to major roads. "While the park is nice and well maintained, the B lot backs right up to the highway with unbearable road noise. Had two nights planned but will be leaving after the first," warned a Silver Spur guest who found the location problematic.

Tips for camping with families

Amenities for children: Silver Spur RV Park & Resort offers family-friendly facilities. "Amazing RV Park, well maintained roads, lots, and landscaping. Both fellow campers and staff were extremely welcoming. There was also plenty to do around the campsite between fishing, the small kids park and the park provided activity's (corn hole, etc.)," reports a family who enjoyed their stay.

Recreation options: Mt Hood Village Resort provides multiple activities suitable for children. "This was a good family camping spot. Pros - there is a playground, swimming pool, small store, cafe, bathrooms with showers (and warm water) and activities during the day for kids," notes a family camper assessing the facilities.

Budget accommodations: Some parks offer cabin options for families without RVs. "We stayed at their only cabin. The state park was full and we were in a tent (this place has no tent sites). The price was awesome! The cabin was great! They have all sorts of activities for you and kids if you have them," explains a Silver Spur visitor who found an affordable alternative.

Tips from RVers

Site selection: At Emerald Valley RV Park in Jefferson, site layout and accessibility earn high marks. "The spots were level, no fire rings only a few picnic tables but caters to RVs only so most of us have tables and chairs. The bathrooms/showers were very clean and well cared for," reports a camper who appreciated the practical amenities.

Extended stay considerations: Long-term visitors have different needs than overnight guests. "We have been staying here full time since October 2021 and will be moving on in about a month or so. Many full timers live here but it's a convenient spot to park for a few days at a time or full time," explains a Portland-Woodburn RV Park resident who found the park suitable for both short and extended stays.

Maintenance quality: Well-maintained parks consistently receive better reviews from RV campers. "Amazing RV Park with pool, clean showers, paved sites. Dog park less than 1 mile. Awesome staff!" notes a Blue Ox visitor who appreciated the park's upkeep and amenities during their three-month stay.
