    Premier RV Resort at Eugene

    Well Managed Campground

This is a large campground, mostly populated by big rigs, and mostly long term stays. Looked like a lot of people were working in the area. Almost all of the RV's there are very nice - no long term stay hoarder scenes. The roads are paved, majority of sites are pull through, photos on Dyrt are accurate. We had a 30 amp site and all of the utilities were well maintained and arranged well. Water pressure was good. Everything is well maintained. The women in the office were friendly, efficient, and helpful. It is a very dog friendly park and there is lots of room for dogs but everyone picked up after dogs and we heard almost zero barking. There were a few kids there but they were quiet except for a little play time in the afternoons. Downsides: a couple of the machines in the laundry were out of service (but the others worked well); there is a lot of road noise from I-5; cellular reception is sketchy. The road noise varies a lot though so ask for a site close to the office or in the older section. The new sites farther back are closer to the interstate. The road noise was much less annoying than we anticipated and we slept well. There is a TA truck stop nearby for filling up as well as a diner and a McDonalds. Of course, driving into Eugene to eat is easy enough. We had just 1 bar of Verizon and it was unusable but we had 3 bars of ATT which worked well. The do have a dog wash station toward the back of the park and also a car wash station that is easily accessible on the main road. We stayed for 3 nights while taking care of some things in Eugene and it worked out well for us. If only this place was farther off the road it would really be great.

    Premier RV Resort

    Nice CG, but small sites

We are full-timers in a 36 ft Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow. We were in site 57 for 4 days in mid September. Very friendly staff. The CG is clean, quiet and well maintained, but the sites are fairly short and narrow. As others have mentioned, tow vehicles usually extend into or are parked partially on the roads through the CG, but the roads are fairly wide throughout the CG. Also, our slides extended well past the concrete pad on both sides, leaving very little room to get around our RV. The sewer connections are not threaded, so you’ll have to weigh down your sewer hose. There is a fair bit of road noise from the highway. There is a nice open area, off leash pen and network of short trails for walking your dog. AT&T coverage was fair, ranging from 2-4 bars of 5G with speeds up to 19 MB/s. The CG WiFi speed varied considerably, from next to useless up to 1 MB/s. We were able to get DISH coverage on all three western satellites at our site. There were 11 OTA channels to be had with our fixed omni antenna.

Armitage Park & Campground - a Lane County Park

    Book this one early!

Located near Eugene, OR, this is one of the few local campgrounds near us.

Open year round and it is usually full year round as well. Reservations are definitely a must for this small campground!

This campground has all the amenities! Full hook up sites, toilets/ showers, laundry, swimming/boat ramp, picnic area, and even a dog park. Wide variety of site sizes and can accommodate most RV sizes. There are also hiking trails nearby.

Close to town so you can easily get forgotten supplies or groceries. Perfect stay for a quick overnight when in town for Ducks games or just getting out of the house!

Definitely recommend checking this one out if your in the area!

    Deerwood RV Park

Nice RV park, but not worth the price

We had a 10 day stay. Let me start with the positives:

    • Most spaces have at least 10-12 feet of grass between.
    • Nicely maintained.
    • Nice location, lots of trees and grassy areas.
    • Asphalt pads for most sites, some premium sites have a concrete pad for RV/trailer/camper with asphalt in front.
    • Decent wifi during the day, but slow as molasses at night. Assuming people streaming or downloading.

    Negatives:

    • One way route around the park.
    • Road is narrow and winding, larger rigs have issues with staying on path.
    • Mostly back-in spaces, which combined with the road, makes for interesting times getting your rig settled.
    • Spaces are fairly short, especially on Standard sites. We barely fit our 39’ Class A and a 2 door Jeep Wrangler. If our vehicle had been any longer, we would have had to park in overflow parking. We saw a lot of fifth wheels with no other vehicle in the space, we assumed they were in the overflow area.
    • No real spot to unhook a tow, except for the overflow parking area, which has a wider road portion.
    • Some signs of semi-permanent residents.
    • If you have a satellite, I am not sure the shady/trees spots would orient. We saw a lot of tailgater dishes at front of spots (we had a lawn spot with landscaping, but not in the trees).
    • Grassy lawn area is large enough to require weekly maintenance and the lawn mowing can be annoying.
    • ALL spots require jack pads. Having not stayed in too many parks with asphalt, this was a surprise for us. They did not mention at checkin, but we got a polite email the next morning.
    • Billed as a luxury rv park. Price does not reflect that. No pool, just laundry/showers/restrooms.
    • Freeway noise. Very close to I-5. Louder on the side of park closest to street and entrance.

Silver Spur RV Park & Resort

    Not terrible.

I ended up here last minute due to weather on the Oregon coast. I’m in a 40’ coach. It’s a very well kept RV park, a lot of long term residents were here. The office is very nice, the lawns are very nice, the office parking lot is asphalt. Has a nice little children’s play area. There are very bumpy gravel driveways to the RV parking spots (possibly just the time of year causing the poor road condition). The RV spaces are very easy to get into being angled. We stayed in a pull through space, easy in and easy out. Only giving a 4star rating for the very small RV spaces. Was very crammed for anything more than a last minute stay.

    Blue Ox RV Park

Disneyland is not the happiest place on earth

This is the happiest place on RV Earth! What a beautiful park! Amazing trees of every kind and flowers and bushes all cared for meticulously. Great wi-fi. Management is exceptional! Indoor pool, multiple laundry rooms, rec room - all spotlessly clean. Close easy access to freeway but minimal noise. Full hookups of course, Wi-Fi is strong and fast, 48 channels of sharp cable TV picture. We are putting this on our A list and will return whenever we're passing through this area again. Two bars of 5G Verizon. Beautiful city soccer fields and park just outside the entrance to the park. Great place to walk and relax. Recommend.

    Whitcomb Creek County Park

Camping on a peninsula in the mist of Green Peter

Your in the woods at this location, bring your boats/canoe/kayak the reservoir is huge to explore.

The campground is only open in the summer and as of 2018 has some wonderful updates on Loop “A” and Loop “C” (new tables, and site pads, and fire rings). Loop “B” is still rustic and not a bad site to sit. There are a few Double site can hold two campers. There is not water or electricity, bring it in and pack it out. Can accommodate big rigs, or small tents. There are four pull through sites. Best to RSVP through ww.linnparks.com on popular weekends or take your change for any open sites, if no sites available head up Quartzville past mile marker 17 and park along the road for free, only where there are metal fire rings.

    Sun Outdoors Portland South

    Glamping

This was my first experience at an RV Resort. It is located right of the interstate but feels secluded. They have both back in and pull through sites, a little tight with neighbors but I was told it is better than other RV resorts. Beautiful landscaping, indoor pool and hot tub, small market, laundry facilities, horseshoe pits on beautiful grassy area. Yes to dogs and cats and no breed restrictions! They have a nice grassy area with poop bags! Bummer no fires 🙁 If fire pits I’d give the 5th star! Also, within 15-20 mins there are amazing countryside, wine tasting, hiking/walking, Willamette River with off leash areas for dogs, and downtown Portland. Additionally there is an off leash park 8 mins away. Overall a good experience, we enjoyed our stay. My photos don’t show much of the place but their website’s photos represent well.

Guide to Jefferson

RV parks near Jefferson, Oregon provide convenient access to nearby attractions while offering essential services for travelers. Most campgrounds in this region sit between 200-400 feet in elevation, creating moderate terrain suitable for various camping setups. Jefferson-area campgrounds typically maintain year-round operations with seasonal rate adjustments and availability constraints during summer months.

What to do

**Riverside activities: Access the Santiam River at Gills Landing RV Park where campers can enjoy river views and nearby hiking trails. "Very nice campground with full hook ups and river access," notes one reviewer who appreciated the water proximity.

**Golfing opportunities: Mallard Creek Golf and RV Resort combines camping with golfing access. A visitor shared: "Our golf package paid for the golf but for a powered cart you have to pay $20 per person for 9 holes or $30 for 18." The resort offers special packages that bundle RV sites with golfing privileges.

**Local urban exploration: Many rv sites near Jefferson, Oregon provide easy access to neighboring towns. "You can walk or bike into town for food," mentions a camper about Gills Landing's convenient location, making it suitable for those wanting to explore local businesses during their stay.

What campers like

**Clean facilities: Blue Ox RV Park receives consistent praise for its maintenance standards. One camper noted, "Great safe RV park with pool, clean showers, paved sites," highlighting the well-maintained infrastructure that makes stays comfortable.

**Indoor amenities: Several campgrounds offer amenities beyond standard RV hookups. "Multiple Laundry Rooms, heated indoor pool, recreation area indoors. Hour from the coast, hour from ski areas and plenty to do in and around Albany," a camper shared about Blue Ox RV Park, appreciating the indoor facilities.

**Responsive staff: Quality service stands out at many Jefferson-area campgrounds. At Silver Spur RV Park & Resort, campers appreciate the personnel: "Not only is the staff professional, knowledgeable and responsive but also very friendly and they take care to make sure everyone enjoys their stay!"

What you should know

**Site spacing considerations: Many RV parks prioritize quantity over spaciousness. A Silver Spur reviewer noted: "The only reason I say 4 stars is the sites are a little small. Very little space between other campers." Similarly, another camper mentioned, "We stayed in a pull through space, easy in and easy out. Only giving a 4star rating for the very small RV spaces."

**Environmental factors: Ambient noise affects some rv sites around Jefferson. "While the park is nice and well maintained, the B lot backs right up to the highway with unbearable road noise. Had two nights planned but will be leaving after the first," warned one Silver Spur visitor.

**Internet performance: Connectivity varies significantly between parks. At Hee Hee Illahee RV Resort, a visitor cautioned: "They advertise high speed Wi-Fi but unless it's during the day, its so over crowded that you cannot get on anything. So if you stream Netflix in the evenings after a long day, you better bring your own portable Wi-Fi."

Tips for camping with families

**Recreation facilities: Several campgrounds offer family-focused amenities. One Silver Spur visitor mentioned, "There was also plenty to do around the campsite between fishing, the small kids park and the park provided activity's (corn hole, etc.)," making it suitable for family outings.

**Budget accommodations: Some locations offer affordable alternatives to standard RV camping. At Salem RV park, a tent camper shared: "Stayed in a tent site w electricity and hooked up my little lights for ambience. I believe I paid only $25 night."

**Cabin options: Families without RVs can find alternative accommodations. "We stayed at their only cabin. The state park was full and we were in a tent (this place has no tent sites). The price was awesome! The cabin was great!" reported a Silver Spur visitor, noting this option works well when traditional camping sites fill up.

Tips from RVers

**Site selection: At Knox Butte RV Park, experienced RVers appreciate the practical layout. "Everything is paved, the sites have nice clean picnic tables, and plenty of green Lush grass," notes one camper who found the design accommodating for larger rigs.

**Extended stay considerations: Many Jefferson-area RV parks accommodate longer-term visitors. "We stay here often. Nice amenities but the sites are in need of tlc. Most lots are monthly," explained a Silver Spur Resort regular, indicating potential maintenance differences between short-term and monthly areas.

**Weather preparation: Jefferson-area RV sites experience seasonal challenges. "Been here several months and has been a pleasure. Great staff. Hour from the coast, hour from ski areas," notes a Blue Ox camper, suggesting visitors prepare for varied weather depending on season and planned activities.
