Best Dog-Friendly Camping near Gold Hill, OR

Safe, family campground with a nice shop, pool, restroom. You can rent a cabin, wagons, or a campground. There’s also a dog park, which my dog loved!

We stay here often on our migration from PNW to the Desert for winter. It is a extremely well run park, with immaculate bathrooms and well groomed sites. Sites have concrete pad, fire pit and table with FHU. An easy off of Highway 5 and close to Costco and many restaurants. Small lake/pond with walking trail around and extra large Dog Park.

Stayed at the Seven Feathers RV resort for a few nights rest and to play bingo!!! Love there bingo hall!! They have a shuttle bus service that picks you up and drops you off at your RV/trailer. The park is really clean surrounded by mountains. Huge enclosed dog park. The pool and spa was closed due to Covid but sitting outside was so peaceful!!

Spent last 10 days at JSSP. This is one of my most favorite campsites. Theirs boating, swimming, hiking, biking, dog park, several updated kids large outdoor play grounds. So many trails and adventures to be had. I’ve spent 10 days here and this isn’t my first go and I’m still discovering things. JSSP is clean clean clean and Huge with like 151 spaces to accommodate everything lol I love it here. Just beautiful and peaceful and calm. Nice get away from life. Thank you JSSP hosts/rangers. I’ll be back.

This is a large, sprawling, very peaceful and green Jackson County campground with several loops. 

Loop D is no hookups (though each site has a non-threaded water spigot). Each site also has a grill, a picnic table, and a firepit. It’s so quiet and empty and peaceful during the week, and then practically fills up on the weekends. ATT had good service but the Verizon phone was roaming/ extended network. Still usable but slow and could not use the hotspot. 

This campground has one of our favorite dog parks. It’s nicely mowed, thick grass, beautiful surroundings, and huge. You can also rent a boat or kayak and spend the day on the lake- so fun! 

Sites without hookups are $28, and electric/water sites are $33. There is a dump station at the entrance, free for use by campers only.

No it is not perfect. It is close to Hwy 5 so a lot of road noise. But most in this area are. Sites are tight like most KOAs. We chose an end spot and did alright. Plus it was quiet part of year. Many year around residents but was not cluttered. Also sort of kept the short term rentals separate. Nice country location. Good green space to walk dogs. Did not get harassed for walking dogs off leash. We r responsible pet owners. Great laundry room. A little expensive for laundry. Pool table and Pac-Man was used by families. Very clean facilities and flexible manager on when we chose to leave.

site: good size. semi-private. close to neighbors. amenities: very clean. attractions: river near. park. Just checking out sites for our next visit, but observed lots of pets here.

A nice place to stay. There’s a creek running along side the park and a nice grassy area for pets. The sites are pull thru, making it easy. Right off of I-5 so easy to find.

This large campground is off highway 62 at Lost Creek Lake. There are water and electric hook ups and non hook up sites available.

 We stayed here twice, once in a non-hookup site and we used a hook up site during a heatwave so we could have a/c. Nicely paved loops and sites with mix of sun and shade and grass and dirt. There is also paved trails for hiking and biking all over the area. From the campground the access to the lake is small trek on one of the paved trails which was a nice bike ride. Near the day use is also a store and deli and signs for various water craft rentals. The camp sites all have water (even in dry camping area though spigots were not threaded), picnic tables, BBQs and fire pits. There are amazing free hot showers and bathrooms in each of the loops. Rangers make frequent rounds. It can be quite crowded here on weekends and though sites aren’t very private they are spaced a decent amount.  

There is a trash compactor near the RV dump. No recycling other than a "Kids Can" program which I believe only accepts aluminum cans?  There was no sign to let you know.

You can either make a reservation in advance or show up and see if there are any free sites for the night.

There were also multiple playgrounds and a large gorgeous dog park. We would stay here again. Good ATT service, TMobile had bars but service was inconsistent and Verizon had 3-4 bars of LTE roaming.

Whether you come by yourself, spouse, pet or kids, this place has it all! Basketball area, exercise, ping pong, canoe, pontoon, trampoline and more! Word has it, they're making an area for a BATTING CAGE! What RV resort have you ever heard of with that?!

Nice landscaping, mainly level paved sites, a little grass and cement for picnic table. Entirely fenced for security although people are getting in at front entrance. Noticed people biking through in middle of night. Small dog area; too small. Not enough places to walk dog on grass; almost entire park is paved. Trail outside park is long but right next to I5. Traffic noise in park is intense. 14 day max stay. Very nice hosts. Facilities are top notch. Trash cans well distributed throughout park for convenience as are shower/restroom facilities. Someone is feeding feral cats! Severe nuisance!!

Tree of Heaven campground is located about 10 miles west of Interstate 5, on a bend in the Klamath River. The closest town for supplies is Yreka, and they should have just about everything you could think of there. The entire campground and day use area are located right on the Klamath River, however there is no direct river access from any of the campsites. You need to walk upstream to find the river access. There is also a trail that starts at campsite 19 that goes downstream for about a half mile, but there isn't river access from there either. The river itself is great to swim, float, or fish in. A number of groups drove upstream a couple miles and floated back down to the campground. You can also float downstream a couple of miles to a haul out point and get a ride back. There is enough room at the day use area to put in kayaks as well. Campsite 19 was great. It was at the end of the loop and had 3 flat areas that were terraced into the hillside. It would be great if you were setting up multiple tents, so you weren't right on top of each other. The restrooms were very clean, and there was drinking water all through the campground. The host sells firewood and rented inner tubes, but I imagine the inner tube thing would vary depending on the camp host at the time. No showers, but with the river right there, you don't really need any. There is some poison oak in the area, and we spotted a rattlesnake, so keep your eye out with pets or kids. As you can see in the photos below, it was really smokey from fires in the area during our visit, but I would love to go back again when it is clear. There is no light pollution nearby so I bet the star gazing would be fantastic.
