Several RV parks operate within 30 miles of Bristow, Oklahoma, providing options for travelers along Route 66 and nearby highways. Tulsa RV Ranch in Beggs features 106 sites with full hookups including 30/50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections on primarily gravel pads. "Some of the sites have hookups on wrong side. No amenities at all. Just a place to plug in for the night," noted one traveler about similar basic facilities in the area. Oak Glen RV & Mobile Home Park offers big-rig friendly spaces with 50-amp service and includes picnic tables at most sites. The RV Park at Keystone Lake provides premium lakeside locations with sewer hookups and water connections, though reviews mention the water hookups are positioned underground similar to meter locations, potentially challenging for those with mobility limitations.

Fall through spring represent ideal camping seasons in this region, with summer temperatures often exceeding 90°F. Most parks require advance reservations, especially during weekends and holidays. Cell service varies considerably across the area, with parks closer to Tulsa generally providing more reliable connectivity. Dump stations are available at most locations including Tulsa RV Ranch and Ozark Trail RV Park, though the latter has limited amenities beyond its 27 electrical sites. Pet policies differ between facilities; while most allow pets, specific restrictions may apply regarding breed, size, and leash requirements. Based on reviews from The Dyrt, travelers should prepare for occasional uneven sites, as one camper noted their "RV spot is so unlevel it's almost unusable" at one of the public facilities near Bristow.

    Lake Carl Blackwell

    Relaxing time

We reserve two sites side by side in the beaver cove campground. The sites are on a slight decline but pull through and we were able to make them level with our blocks. The sides have enough room for the grandkids to roam around it besides for electric and water only but offered a view of the lake and we're close by a swim area. The trees at the sides provided adequate shade for the afternoon sun and the campground offered boat ramps couple of swim areas and on-site store for gas and supplies including and after hours vending machine with propane tanks and charcoal and s'mores supplies. The dump station provided slots for three RVs at one time and well thought out. The crap ground offers hiking bicycle and horse trails that cover a large area. Wildlife was abundant with plenty of deer and Canadian geese and squirrels. The campgrounds offer some annual sites for long-term visits but there is a waiting list to be on that.

The RV Park at Keystone Lake

    Great New Park

This is a brand new park with full hookups, easy access and easy parking. Streets & parking areas are blacktopped and pretty level. There is a nice, well-stocked convenience store on with ice, firewood, food, propane, a few fishing supplies and gift shop. Park personnel are very friendly & helpful, and there is a nice silo-style pavilion where the owners are going to be adding events & entertainment in the future. A small laundry is across the street from the store.

We paid extra for a premium site with high speed internet WiFi connection, trash pickup & other perks because my husband wanted to stream college football games, and the WiFi was great. Had 50 amp hookup, water & sewer and a gravel parking spot for extra vehicle next to the RV spot. All in all, a great stay.

I enjoyed this place, but couldn’t give it a 5 star review for a couple of reasons. One, there was only one area where a charcoal grill was available, by the pavilion in the center of the park. There were no trash containers or ash cans around there so we had to truck our food & cooking trash back to the rv and had to pour water over the coals & leave the mess in the cooker (which I hated to do). Second reason was the water hookup. My brother in law drove the RV in & hooked it up for us, which was a good thing. The water hookup is under the ground like a water meter location, and both my husband & myself have physical limitations that prevent us from getting on our knees to reach under the ground for hookups. If there was a tall spigot with hose hookup available where you could hook up from a standing position that would make it much easier for old folks like us!

    Very Nice

This is a very well maintained RV park. I think the pictures speak for them selves.

    Walnut Creek Recreation Area Campground

    Beautiful affordable campsite

We stayed one night in October with our 22' airstream. Marion the host was welcoming and check in was easy. Beautiful small RV area overlooking lake. Electric sites, no water, some pull through. Close to town. Only $20 a night, would definitely stay again. Went to the Omaha Zoo and it was great!

    Overnight Stay

We stayed one night in November. Easy on/off, though the service road isn’t in good shape. We were in site 13, closest to the highway along with two cabins and the playground. Extremely noisy so if traffic bothers you request a site towards the back. Lots of trees. Our site was also close to the toilets and showers which were very clean. Shower stalls are private with a door and a curtain but the stalls are very shallow. Don’t leave anything on the floor in the outer area or it will get wet. There is a very shallow bench to put your items on but not meant for sitting. Two hooks to hang your items which is appreciated. No lock on the bathroom door. Pull through 50 amp. We’re towing a 28ft Airstream and it was level enough we didn’t need to unhitch. Listed as a gravel site but more dirt than gravel. Full hook ups, no cable, limited wifi. $44.50 a night. The swing in the playground desperately needs some WD-40, lol. We would overnight here again if needed.

    Tulsa RV Ranch

Don’t recommend if you need amenities

I would not recommend this park. Bathrooms are filthy- trash on the floor, clogged toilet for days, showers have pink mold. We asked if we could use their cleaning supplies and never got a response however the next day someone was “cleaning. I use “” because the trash in the women’s showers, mold, soap scum, hair dye, and general dirt was still there. Toilets and sinks weren’t cleaned properly. We had to use their facilities and paid for a week stay (they offer no refunds) so we were stuck unfortunately. The google reviews are very untrue. Not sure who wrote them but that’s what we went off of. If you have a big rig and don’t need amenities and don’t care about overflowing dumpsters then it’ll be a fine stay. Lot of long term trailers. The kids were nice though and my boys enjoyed playing on the playground with them. We had the only space with a giant puddle upon arriving that never did dry up and then it rained 😅

Yogi Bear's Jellystone Park at Keystone Lake

Absolutely would not recommend Jellystone RV Park at Keystone Lake.

We called ahead and clearly explained we needed a full hookup site to test out our motorhome before a major trip. We were also told they had a playground and asked to be placed as close to it as possible. We confirmed that checkout was at 11 AM and were told if we needed a late checkout, it would be an additional$20.

When we arrived, we were one of the only guests there, yet they still insisted on charging a late checkout fee. Even worse— the site they gave us had only 30 amp electric hookup— no water, no sewage hookup— despite what we were promised over the phone. The“playground” was a complete joke: no swings, no slides— just a small metal structure with a few steps. Nothing like what is pictured or advertised. When we asked for a refund because the site was not what we were promised, the older woman at the front desk laughed and said,“It’s raining, the kids can’t play anyway,” and refused to refund us.

She offered a“credit toward a future stay,” which we obviously declined. There are only THREE sites in the entire park with full hookups, and they are right at the front gate next to the train tracks. As a military family(my husband is a disabled combat vet), it’s also worth noting they do not offer any military discount. Between the poor service, false advertising, and complete lack of accommodations, this place is wildly overpriced and absolutely not worth the three-hour drive we made to get there.

0/10 recommend. Save your money and go somewhere else. We left and stayed down the road by Pier 51 instead— a much better experience.

    Bell Cow Lake Campground C

    Very Peaceful & Not Crowded

Campground C area offers many pull through RV sites and some back-in RV sites, all with electric & water hook ups. There is also equestrian RV sites with pens, tent camping with shared water spigots, primitive tent camping and a dump station. There are miles of equestrian trails. Hiked down one and the trail was very peaceful and beautiful. It had recently rained a lot, so I had a thick layer of red mud on my shoes from the hike, but glad I hiked it. There are bathrooms with showers, a swim beach, a volleyball court, pavilions, a boat ramp, and plenty of wildlife. Lake is calm & shallow, so it is best for small boats and kayaks. There were plenty of flies due to the time of year and the presence of horses, so a good fly swatter and a fly trap is recommended. Found a small cemetery on the drive to the campsite with some very old grave sites. In all, it was a great place to escape from the real world and relax.

Guide to Bristow

RV campgrounds near Bristow, Oklahoma offer diverse accommodations for travelers looking to explore this region approximately 40 miles southwest of Tulsa. Local elevations average around 800 feet above sea level, with the surrounding Cross Timbers ecoregion characterized by a mix of oak forests and prairie lands. Winter travelers should note that overnight temperatures frequently drop below freezing from December through February, with ice storms occasionally affecting road conditions.

What to do

Visit Keystone Lake recreation areas: The RV Park at Keystone Lake provides convenient access to water recreation opportunities. "This is a new park. Very well layer out. Easy access to all sites. The management is fantastic and extremely helpful," notes Richard G., who frequently stays at this facility when visiting the Bristow area.

Explore Route 66 heritage sites: Oak Glen RV & Mobile Home Park sits directly on Historic Route 66, providing an excellent base for exploring this iconic highway. "It has been around for some time right off Route 66. The staff were friendly, and we were given our choice of where to camp," reports Erich H., who appreciated the campground's connection to this historic corridor.

Attend fairground events: Many RVers stay at Expo Square RV Park in Tulsa specifically for events. "Was camping here for a horse fair and loved being able to walk to the barns and festival grounds. Laundry, showers, bathrooms on-site and security code locked," explains Faustina B., highlighting the practical location for event attendees.

What campers like

Good overnight stopping points: Pine Tree RV Park offers convenient access when traveling through the region. "Very close to the highway but in nature on a pond in a lush green area. Owners were very communicative, coinscientious, and helpful," according to Nita D., who found it suitable for brief stays.

Accessibility to services: Oak Glen RV & Mobile Home Park provides practical amenities for travelers restocking supplies. "Perfect little spot for a nice cheap overnight stay on the way through Oklahoma. Not far from Walmart so it was a good place to restock the fridge!" mentions Seth, highlighting the convenience factor.

Heated facilities during winter: Several campgrounds maintain climate-controlled facilities year-round. "I sent an email and got a fast response. It is close to I-44, but far enough away to be quiet. Easy in/easy out for an RV. Bathrooms heated," notes tracey S. about her stay at Oak Glen RV park during cooler weather.

What you should know

Bathroom quality varies significantly: Facility maintenance differs dramatically between campgrounds. At Tulsa RV Ranch, Jessica F. reported: "Bathrooms are filthy- trash on the floor, clogged toilet for days, showers have pink mold," cautioning travelers who require clean facilities.

Some parks primarily serve as overnight stops: Ozark Trail RV Park provides minimal amenities beyond hookups. "It's basically a gravel parking lot," observes Sandy O., accurately setting expectations for travelers seeking simple overnight accommodation.

Underground water connections: Some RV parks feature below-ground utility connections. At The RV Park at Keystone Lake, Neda H. noted: "The water hookup is under the ground like a water meter location, and both my husband & myself have physical limitations that prevent us from getting on our knees to reach under the ground for hookups."

Tips for camping with families

Playground availability: The RV Park at Keystone Lake offers family-friendly recreational areas. "This is a new RV park with full hookups, easy access and easy parking. Streets & parking areas are blacktopped and pretty level. There is a nice, well-stocked convenience store on with ice, firewood, food, propane, a few fishing supplies and gift shop," reports Neda H.

Fish from park ponds: Some RV parks offer fishing opportunities directly on property. "Nice little pond, if you like to fish," mentions Hillbilly S. about Pine Tree RV Park, providing an activity option for families with children.

Weather preparation: Oklahoma's rapid weather changes require adaptability, especially with children. "Our spot was a pull-through, not completely level, but that wasn't a problem for us. The campground was clean and very comfortable. The only downside is the red dirt that is easy to track into your camper, Its Oklahoma," warns Erich H. about the region's characteristic soil that can create cleanup challenges.

Tips from RVers

Service availability at fairgrounds: Expo Square RV Park provides practical accommodations for larger rigs. "Space 719 was just long enough for trailer but we were allowed to park our truck in the space next to it. Wifi was strong where we were parked," mentions Lori C., highlighting flexibility for vehicle parking.

Verify customer service reputation: Research management responsiveness before booking. At West Bend RV Outpost, Dennis L. warned: "This place has terrible customer service and communication with their tenants. Save yourself a headache and go somewhere else in Tulsa. It will be a nightmare to stay here."

Check site levelness before setup: Uneven sites can create setup challenges. "Our spot was a pull-through, not completely level, but that wasn't a problem for us," notes Erich H. about Oak Glen RV Park, suggesting RVers should prepare leveling equipment.
