Has everything you need
Very popular campground, lots of people. Easy drive-up spots, fire pits, clean showers, bathrooms, and a camp shop. Really nice bike/walking bath out to the water.
East Harbor State Park Campground in Lakeside Marblehead features luxury glamping accommodations alongside traditional camping options, approximately 45 miles north of Tiffin. The park's glamping sites include comfortable yurts and premium canvas tents with amenities not found at standard campsites. Several other parks in the region offer boutique camping experiences, including Kelleys Island State Park with waterfront glamping sites and Maumee Bay State Park with resort-style accommodations. All locations provide electricity, comfortable bedding, and climate control features to enhance the outdoor experience while maintaining comfort. One visitor noted, "The campground is part of a larger resort complex that includes a hotel, marina, a nice beach on Lake Erie, and about 5 miles of beautiful, paved bike paths."
Water-based activities dominate the glamping experience near Tiffin, with most luxury sites positioned near Lake Erie shorelines. Glamping guests at East Harbor enjoy private access to beaches, boat launches, and kayaking opportunities while staying in safari-style accommodations. Kelleys Island State Park, accessible only by ferry, combines unique geological features with upscale camping options. According to a camper, "The campground is on the lake and is beautiful! So many things to do! The camp is clean, has a playground, and movie night." Year-round options exist at several parks, though premium glamping sites are most available from April through October. Guests should book well in advance, especially for weekend stays during summer months when waterfront safari tents and yurts are in highest demand.

"Accessible from ferry, this camp ground offers stunning views of Lake Erie. With clean running water and facilities, the only downside is that the camp grounds are a tad too crowded for my preference."
"Our site 32, was long back into the open wooded area behind us. Everyone was respectful. Shower houses decent. Older and clean. Private shower stalls."

We stayed in c70 a clean, electric site with fire pit and pad, mixed RV and tents.nearby flush toilets, hot showers and running water taps, a good base for fishing, kayaking and birding near to Port Clinton,Cedar point and The islands.a designated bike hike lane to and from the beach.Very family friendly lots of bikes, dogs.
We've camped at Maumee Bay State Park twice and enjoyed it both times. The campground is part of a larger resort complex that includes a hotel, marina, a nice beach on Lake Erie, a second beach on an inland lake, golf course, mowed hiking trails and - our favorite - about 5 miles of beautiful, paved bike paths. It's all very clean and well maintained. The whole place has a welcoming, friendly vibe.
We camped on site 47, electric only. Very level and spacious paved spot with its own shade tree. Nearby shower house accessible by well-lit paved path. Our only problem was a bit of water puddling near the camper/fire pit but it went away after the first night.
The campground is spread out so everyone brings bicycles and also saw a few golf carts. Very nice for family bicycling! Saw lots of wildlife on our rides.
The surrounding area is kind of industrial. We toured it the first year we went (very interesting!) but stayed close to camp this year.
Upon arrival friendly staff greeted us. Bath houses are clean and well maintained. Our site was not clean and ready. Picnic table looked like it was not cleaned since last season and the fire pit was full of rubbish. Had campers behind us who played music so loud we couldn't hear each other talk. I asked the gentleman to please turn it down and they did slightly. Another camper also asked them to turn it down and again it was very slight. Well after midnight music continued. No park ranger made rounds until Saturday morning and throughout the day.
The lake is gorgeous this weekend and we enjoyed riding bikes and walking the park.
May be back to try again.
Absolutely beautiful RV park! Gorgeous views of Lake Erie and walking distance to the gate of Cedar Point. Beautiful landscaping and very clean. Staff is incredibly friendly and knowledgeable. Good little camp store with reasonable(ish) prices. Too chilly to swim but the pool looks nice. Bathhouses are updated, clean and very nice, but pretty far from about half of the sites. One section has premium sites with upgraded grills and fire pits and crazy good lake views. The regular sites are still well landscaped and each have a grill and an extra long picnic table, but no fire pit. You can bring your own fire pit if your site doesn't have one. No bikes or golf carts allowed on the grounds, but there are Cedar Point buses available day & night as well as rickshaws during the day. Until now I have held Disney World's Fort Wilderness as the penultimate place for camping but they could learn a few things from Cedar Point! We stayed five nights in a pull through sites, #231. I would love to snag a premium site for our next trip but it may be difficult because they allow you to book up five years in advance!
A great campground in Ohio. So clean and so many things to do. Campsites are close together but they do honor quiet hours. Great trail around the lake and a fun and challenging disc golf course.
We will definitely be going back! Campground is on the lake and is beautiful! So many things to do! The camp is clean, has a playground, and movie night. Bath house is a typical campground bath house. We had a tent site and it was huge! Sites come with fire pit and picnic table. Beach is within walking distance of campsite.
There is so much structure and order to this campground! The grounds are laid out so nicely! One big circle with cross roads all along the way. You can camp however you'd like too! They have RV sites, tent sites and cabins. All mixed in together so you can travel with all your favorite campers. They do breakfast every morning in the front pavilion for $4.50 (all you can eat pancakes, 1 sausage and coffee) I haven't tried it yet, but its certainly popular. Laundry is open 24 hours a day and in an open area. Not the biggest fan of that due to needing to do laundry in the rain. Bathrooms are clean and standard. Row of toilet stalls and showers in a separate room. They have a stellar playground area, I don't have kids but even I was drawn to wanting to play on it. Very pet friendly around here. Close to downtown, near Cedar Point and all the other attractions over here. They have 2 pools, one being heated. We haven't had a bad rain storm while we're here but you can tell by the ground of our spot its going to be bad and super muddy. All in all this campground is pretty awesome.
This campground is very large with lots of spots to choose from. The C portion has few trees, but if you choose a spot off one of the south circles, the sites are private. The bathhouse is very clean and well maintained. If you want quiet, it may not be for you because lots of families camp there. Quiet hours were, however, quiet! Trails are wide, grassy, and mowed, great for families who want to walk with children. WiFi is not strong, so don't plan on streaming a movie in the evening. There are plenty of things to do, though. My husband and I had a great time!
Glamping experiences near Tiffin, Ohio extend beyond the luxury accommodations to include traditional camping options at several locations within a 45-mile radius. The area lies within Ohio's flat to gently rolling glacial till plains with elevations averaging 700-850 feet above sea level. Summer temperatures typically range from 75-85°F with high humidity, while spring and fall offer milder conditions with occasional rain.
Birding opportunities: Van Buren State Park offers excellent spots for wildlife observation. "I came cross country skiing here in early January and it was absolutely amazing. It is cold but the terrain is simple for first time skiers," notes Kevin T., highlighting the park's year-round appeal for nature enthusiasts.
Swimming and fishing: Walnut Grove Campground provides water-based recreation options just minutes from Tiffin. According to Becky N., visitors enjoy "Swimming, fishing, playing games," making it an ideal spot for water activities during summer months when temperatures regularly reach the upper 80s.
Island exploration: South Bass Island State Park Campground offers unique island-based activities. One visitor explains, "The entire island is pretty rowdy during the summer so plan accordingly. We usually do kelleys island in the summer and Put-in-Bay in the offseason if we're headed this way." The island features caves, monuments, and scenic views accessible by bike or golf cart.
Biking: Maumee Bay State Park Campground maintains extensive paved trails. "You are also close to the lake which I love. My only tip would be to bring plenty of bug spray in the summer, there are lots of bugs that come off the lake," recommends Kayla H., who appreciates the park's flat terrain ideal for cycling.
Privacy between sites: Many luxury glamping sites offer separation from neighbors. At Maumee Bay, "One of my favorite things about this campground is that your spots are close together which is great for safety, however with the bushes and brush, it feels super private," notes Kayla H., describing how natural barriers create seclusion.
Clean facilities: Riverbend Recreation Area Campground maintains well-kept amenities. One visitor noted it's "Simple and clean" and that "if good time away with peace quit and wonderful natural views then this spot will work perfectly."
Weekend activities: Walnut Grove Campground organizes seasonal events. "My family enjoyed spending a weekend at Walnut Grove. Staff was very kind and informed. I will be coming back next season!" shares RMR H., who particularly enjoyed the Halloween festivities offered during fall.
Waterfront sites: Kelleys Island State Park Campground features premium locations along Lake Erie. "The campground is on the far end of the island so you will have to travel a bit to get around to the different sites and restaurants," notes a camper who appreciated the secluded setting despite limited cell service in certain areas.
Ferry requirements: Access to island glamping requires planning. Timothy G. advises about South Bass Island: "Fun island here to explore. Central town has been coined 'Key West of the North'. Bathrooms and showers not all that clean." Factor in ferry costs (typically $20-30 per person round trip) and potential waiting times.
