In mid April 2023 I arrived late afternoon and there were TONS of spots available. Happy with the spot I picked. There was some noise from other campsites, but overall not terrible. Strouds is an amazing park with incredible trails! Bathrooms were clean.
Very close to the nice little downtown Marietta, Ohio but still very rural location. Large sites. Great staff. Absolutely love this place. Slow pace and quiet.
People coming and going every 15 minutes ish. Some folks pull in stare at you for a few seconds then leave. Only staying one night here then moving on.
Overall not a bad spot for a one night travel spot but I could see it being more congested between April-December (OHV permitted season)
The whole site is gorgeous and there’s a lot of people who are walking around the lake. The campsites are pretty close to each other so privacy isn’t much and the bathrooms are drop tank so the smell isn’t the best but it works. Overall we had a great night and hiked some of the trails they had
Coming here before April 1 (half the campground is still winterized) is great! Low crowds and a great location! Lots of available hikes. Even this time of year, the shower house is open and working. Potable water is available to bring back to your site. And if you are an Ohio resident 60 yrs old or older, get your Golden Buckeye card for a 50% savings on Ohio campgrounds.
Stayed here with 2 friends in early October. Very close to a lake with beautiful views.
Awesome campground for families and friends. Quiet and clean.
Easy pull-thru site for our small travel trailer. Each pull-thru is set-up for horses, but RVs are allowed (according to NFS website). Maybe because it was Halloween night, maybe due to hunting season, I dunno, but there seemed to be more traffic than expected for this road. Our only neighbors got a little... rowdy, but it was okay.
Campsite fee is $15 on the honor system. If you have a National Park's Golden Age or Access pass, they honor a 50 percent discount.
I had good 4G ATT cell service. Worked well, with no drops. Data was a bit slower than usual but still good.
The only facilities here were a single pit toilet (surprisingly clean) and a trash can at each site. There may be more services during the height of the season, at least water for horses, but nothing else I could tell.
A short distance further down the road, just after it turns to gravel, at the Old Stone Church trailhead, there are grassy places to back in smaller campers/RVs. And even further down the road, after it turns back to asphalt :D, there's a private campground with utilities, I think, but we only saw it and didn't check it out.
