    Cross Creek Camping Resort

Big Resort with lots of trees

This is a RV resort close to a lake with a lot of seasonal campers. It is busy on the weekend but was very quiet during the week. The sites are close, but not unreasonably close. Good mix of pull through and back in and is big rig friendly. Plenty to do for the kids. Pool looks nice, was not open yet for the season.

    Cross Creek Camping Resort

    Excellent Campground!

Cross Creek Camping Resort in Delaware, Ohio is a very nice campground with friendly staff and lots of amenities! There are large back-in and pull-thru sites, each with grass, tree, picnic table, and fire pit. They are 30/50 amp with FHU. The campground has lots of fun things for the family such as swimming pool, playground, basketball, tennis, dog run, laundry, yard games, and so much more! The store is stocked with snacks, souvenirs, clothing, camping supplies, holiday decor, etc. We love the large shade trees at every site. It is a blessing on those hot summer days. All in all, a great campground! Check it out when in the area. 👍🏻😉

    Berkshire Campgrounds

    Incorrect pricing

The price advertised on The Dyrt is incorrect. It is not $38.50/day. We paid $50.29 with full hook ups. Very clean, staff very nice, but guests are not allowed without registering at the office. Many seasonal/full time residents which made for quite a bit of early morning traffic. Beautiful fishing pond with well groomed trails. Dogs are allowed off leash on the trails. Staff very pet friendly and courteous. Well appointed camp store. Water pressure excellent. Electric well within standard. Gravel pads, our site was off 2”.

    FHUs Sites in a field

    PROS

Able to reserve 144 days prior to arriving

Very nice campground but the design leaves a lot to be desired

Friendly camp hosts who were busy picking up trash in common areas and cleaning sites Moveable picnic table

Metal fire ring with cooking grate

Site D45 level asphalt parking pad surrounded by grass

Great view of lake from D loop; some had water access at rear of site

Coin-operated laundromats in non FHU loops $1.50 wash and $1 dry

Free WIFI available and able to connect at campsite

Dump Stations at Park exit have complimentary hoses

Camp store sells hard dipped ice cream

14 miles from the Airstream Service Center in Jackson Center

    CONS

    No senior discount

$6.50 reservation fee for self made on-line reservation

Basically the FHU loops are out in a field…no privacy from neighbors and no shade what so ever

Grass around sites desperately needed mowed, if you could get thru the large mud puddles

FHU loop D has narrow roads and require driving on grass to back in trailer and some campers in other sites had to move their vehicles

Damn Canadian Geese poop every...what a mess!

Site number on electric utility box

FHU sewer connection at the back of the campsite so bring the looooong stinky slinky FHU loop D had tiny toilet building, but no showers; showers were in non-FHU loops

    Tree Haven Campground

    Great first RV experience.

Great little campground. My wife and I spent a month out there in a fifth wheel to see if we like the lifestyle. Very nice pool(clean). Great walking trail back through the woods. Pet friendly and the bathrooms were very nice. Well....I guess we did! We are now in a search for a Diesel pusher to go full-time!

    Kiser Lake State Park Campground

    Quiet Park

This park is know for the lake that is kayak and canoe friendly since it doesn’t allow any kind of boat with a motor. It also features a beach , 2 playgrounds and several hiking trails. Just be careful if you hike with dogs since some trails intersect with a nature preserve which doesn’t allow pets.

The campground itself has 20 electric sites , 56 primitive sites and 4 camper cabins. All the electric sites are pull through and all sites have a fire pit but only the electric sites come with picnic tables.

Due to off season and COVID the camp store is closed and there is no camper host or park office staff around.

We did notice lots of downed trees on the poorly marked hiking trails. Some trails just started but no maps were around and no trails were blazed. It was hard to tell where we were headed or how long a trail was. I tried using the new Detour app and it wasn’t very accurate for this park.

We did have good Verizon cell coverage.

    Alum Creek State Park Campground

Beautiful State Park close to Columbus Ohio

Alum Creek State Park is a beautiful park and great campground just outside the hustle and bustle of downtown Columbus and minutes away from attractions such as the Columbus Zoo.

The campground has good sized sites and is wooded throughout with clean bath houses, well maintained roads, and easy access for big rigs.

There is also a very nice dog park in the park including dog beaches with lake access for your pups to swim.

We love this campground and the beautiful lake and appreciate the easy access to local attractions, shopping, and more.

Guide to North Lewisburg

RV camping options near North Lewisburg, Ohio extend beyond full-service resorts to include smaller family-owned facilities and lakeside retreats. The relatively flat terrain of west-central Ohio allows for easily accessible camping across varied settings within 30-40 miles of North Lewisburg. Winter camping is limited in this region, with most smaller campgrounds operating seasonally from April through October due to Ohio's freeze-thaw cycles.

What to do

Fishing access: Sky Lake Resort and Fishing offers multiple lakes for anglers with stocked fishing ponds. "The patio had a grill and table with a fire pit that overlooked one of the lakes. They even had board games for our family to play," notes William P. about their tiny home rental at the resort.

Family activities: Arrowhead Lake RV Park & Campground provides multiple recreation options for children. "A very well kept campground with lots of fun things to do, like hiking fishing and corn hole," reports Cody R. The campground features two ponds - one designated for fishing and another for swimming with a dock.

Day trip options: Tomorrow's Stars RV Resort serves as a convenient base for visiting regional attractions. "Tomorrow Stars Campground is an excellent layover off I-70, offering a family-friendly and quiet atmosphere," states Jason G. The campground is approximately 25 minutes from the Air Force Museum in Dayton and 30 minutes from Columbus attractions.

What campers like

Clean facilities: Poor Farmer's Campground receives consistent praise for maintenance standards. "Clean family oriented and spacious. Well run facility w good restrooms and showers plus electri hook up per site," notes loud F. The campground provides full hookups for RVs while maintaining countryside charm.

Friendly atmosphere: Welcome Woods RV Campgrounds creates a welcoming environment despite its modest appearance. "The campground is mainly seasonal campers and all seemed very welcoming and nice. We camped Labor Day weekend so I don't know if it's all the time or not but while we were there they did a hog roast corn hole tournaments and some kind of 50/50 raffle every day," shares Ashley R.

Affordability: Camping near North Lewisburg tends to be reasonably priced compared to other regions. "Overall a pretty nice camping spot. Oh and it was only $45 a night," mentions Bryatt S. about Arrowhead Lake RV Park. Most campgrounds in the area maintain competitive rates with modest fee increases during holiday weekends.

What you should know

Seasonal operation: Most smaller campgrounds in the North Lewisburg area close during winter months. Sunset Springs RV Resort operates from "May 1 to October 15" according to their listing. Plan accordingly when seeking RV sites near North Lewisburg, Ohio outside peak season.

Varying bathroom facilities: Bathroom quality differs significantly between campgrounds. "The shower houses are older concrete buildings however the worst part for me were the bathrooms. The bathrooms come in two varieties. One is a outhouse type room it's a concrete 'toilet' with a toilet seat on it that drops into a hole in the ground and the other is a porta potty," explains Ashley R. about Welcome Woods.

Site variations: Many campgrounds feature a mix of seasonal and transient sites with different amenities. "Sites are large for the weekend campers. The seasonal ones all have back in and the weekends are pull through which is kinda nice," explains Bryatt S. about the layout at Arrowhead Lake RV Park & Campground.

Tips for camping with families

Swimming options: Arrowhead Lake RV Park offers swimming ponds with limited depth for safer family enjoyment. "They have two ponds, one for fishing and one for swimming. The swimming one has a dock kids jump off but it only goes to about 3.5-4 feet deep at the deepest point," shares Bryatt S.

Activity planning: Alton RV Park provides essential facilities in a convenient location without extensive recreation options. "Not a sightseeing destination, but very convenient place to stop for the night if you're on a road trip doing a lot of driving. Safe neighborhood with a kroger right down the street," notes Morgan F. Consider this location for overnight stays rather than extended family vacations.

Campground rules: Some locations enforce strict regulations that may impact family enjoyment. "Campfires not allowed. They yell at you for everything. We had our portable grill out and they told us we couldn't use it because it might ruin their grass... Close to my kids and grandkids but they weren't allowed at the camp," reports Dennis D. about Alton RV Park. Always check visitor policies before booking.

Tips from RVers

Reservation systems: Some campgrounds offer streamlined check-in processes beneficial for tired travelers. "The one thing I really liked was that the entire reservation and check-in process was online, you didn't have to check in at the office, just put your info into the website and you were all set, which is really nice after a long drive," notes Gregory L. about Sky Lake Resort.

Site adjustments: When assigned sites with issues, polite requests for changes are often accommodated. At Tomorrow's Stars RV Resort, one RVer shared: "Pull through we were assigned had very low hanging tree limbs. I called the office and asked if we could use space 41 instead. No problem!"

Travel center hookups: For overnight stays during travel, Love's Travel Centers provide basic RV spaces. "A little loud at times. Hardee's restaurant is a different option for meals," reports Brad H. about Love's RV Hookup in Bellefontaine. These locations offer convenient access to food and fuel but lack the quieter setting of dedicated campgrounds.
