Located in farmland, this campground welcomes pets at both tent and RV sites, with pet-friendly cabin options available for those seeking more comfort. Pets must remain leashed when outside the RV, and owners are responsible for waste cleanup. The campground features clean restrooms, a heated swimming pool, and plenty of open space for dog walking. Indian Trail Campground and Freedom Valley also accept pets, with Freedom Valley offering specific dog-friendly trails for exercise. Mt Gilead State Park Campground permits pets at both tent and RV sites year-round, though specific pet rules apply in state park settings. Mohican State Park Campground provides extensive pet-friendly hiking trails connecting directly to campground loops where leashed dogs are welcome. The park's year-round accessibility makes it popular for winter camping with pets, though owners should be prepared for changing weather conditions. Charles Mill Lake Park allows dogs at waterfront sites but requires them to be leashed at all times, even near the water. Sunset Springs RV Resort maintains well-kept grounds with designated pet areas, though their white standard poodle rule enforcement needs improvement according to visitors. Veterinary services are available within 15-30 minutes of most Waynesburg area campgrounds. Campgrounds typically enforce quiet hours beginning at 10:00 PM, which helps manage barking issues. Seasonal campers note that many parks offer extended stay options for those traveling with pets for longer periods.

"Beware, the sites are close to these roads and quite shallow, but because each road dead ends in a cul de sac, traffic is very light, even when the campground is full, as when we visited."

Alot of campground unfinished, poor wifi, no dog park
Nice park, two fenced dog parks. Bathrooms were clean.
We have never had a bad site at Delaware, rowdy neighbors on occasion but the park itself and the site are great. Lots of hiking trails, stocked fishing pond for kids, disc golf, dog park and the lake itself.
Site 187 this trip.
This campground has everything you could want. Kids areas, swimming pond and pool, dog park area and pleasant employees. Will definitly be going back soon!
Whispering Hills Jellystone is a great location for family fun. I can not say enough about how accommodating and helpful the staff was during our visits. There is plenty of activities for families and the dog park was a bonus.
This is about our 5th or 6th trip here. It’s close to home, but more importantly it has great trails and wooded sites.
Winter camping has several sections of the park closed, only 1 shower house open and no camp hosts or camp store.
In the summer this park has a marina , beach , several playgrounds , disk golf and a dog park.
The only negative this about this park is it is prone to flooding and the sites can get really muddy.
This campground has been wonderfully updated! The owners have added in an additional playground, dog park, newly paved roadways, newly redone building, a new pavilion, fire pit, and boat parking! We love camping here every chance we get! It is convenient to the turnpike and Cedar Point is just a few miles away!

This is a test area on the Ohio Turnpike. Rv owners can self pay $20 to stay overnight. Quiet area away from the semis and common parking lot, but super close still to the plaza. The plaza offers 5 restaurants and vending machines, a gift shop, and clean restrooms. Sufficient area to exercise pets.
Campgrounds near Waynesburg, Ohio span across farmland terrain at elevations between 900-1,100 feet, offering moderate privacy in mostly wooded settings. The camping season typically runs April through October with summer temperatures averaging 70-85°F, though several parks remain open year-round for winter camping enthusiasts. Fall camping is particularly popular when deciduous forests display peak colors from mid-October through early November.
Disc golf adventures: At Mt Gilead State Park Campground, visitors discover an unconventional course layout. "This was laid out to be a crazy course and included repelling ropes!" notes Sarah G. The course provides a challenging experience even for experienced disc golfers.
Fishing opportunities: Cast a line at Charles Mill Lake Park where waterfront sites provide easy access. "There is a lake with a boat launch near by a playground and beach for families to swim," reports Katelyn P. Morning fishing proves especially rewarding, with campers often spotting deer during early hours.
Winter hiking: Mohican State Park Campground maintains accessible trails during colder months. "Beautiful area to see in the winter & not as busy. You will mainly see people fishing for trout," says Renée C. The park offers several miles of connecting trails from the dam area following the river to different camping sections.
Large gathering spaces: Shelby/Mansfield KOA provides ample common areas. "It is a very large campground, virtually in the middle of farmland. It is the draw itself," writes Nick W. The campground features organized activities, craft sessions, and entertainment options throughout peak season.
Waterfront accessibility: Charles Mill Lake Park Campground offers sites directly on the shoreline. "I love this place! Just had my second visit and can't wait to go back. Water view on both sides and sites are nice sized and not right on top of each other," shares Danielle T. The park maintains separate marina and beach areas for different water activities.
Modern facilities: Findley State Park Campground receives praise for its updated amenities. "Oddly, the high point was the shower house. Either new or remodeled recently, it was clean and comfortable (not always a given!)," notes Chris K. The park balances primitive and developed camping areas across its grounds.
Site selection matters: Findley State Park Campground requires advance planning. "About half the sites are for tent or dry camping. Half have electric and a few of those have full hookups," explains Kimberly C. The park offers varying levels of shade and separation between sites.
Cell service limitations: Some campgrounds have limited connectivity. "No cell service with Verizon at this park," reports Andrea F. about Mohican State Park. Plan communications accordingly, especially when camping during off-season periods.
Reservation timing: Popular campgrounds fill quickly during peak season. "Very nice, comfortable campground, kids loved it. Only downfall is trying to find an open spot for reservations... If you're planning a holiday weekend you need to book 6 months in advance," advises Jeffrey L.
Activity planning: Sunset Springs RV Resort schedules regular weekend events. "We absolutely loved it! Everyone was so friendly to us 'weekenders' and can't wait to come back," says Shelby T. The resort runs scheduled activities throughout summer weekends, even during rain.
Swimming options: Several campgrounds maintain pools alongside natural water features. "Nice heated pool. And many activities in the area. Hiking, canoeing, biking, etc.," writes Wesley S. about Mohican State Park. The heated pools extend swimming seasons beyond typical summer months.
Playground accessibility: Dog friendly campgrounds near Waynesburg typically position play areas centrally. "For the kids there are: activities, crafts, playground, jumping balloon, small zipline, lakes, heated swimming pool, ice cream. Everything a kid could want to do," notes Nick W. about Shelby/Mansfield KOA.
Site layout considerations: Indian Trail Campground organizes camping areas by user type. "Each area has its specific flavor: RV seasonals, campers, cabins, bunkhouse and tent area," explains David B. This separation helps maintain appropriate noise levels and amenity access.
Leveling challenges: Some campgrounds require extra equipment for proper setup. "Our pad was pretty level and not hard to back into with a small camper. However, a lot of the pads are at 90° angles instead of 45° so it can be harder for a larger camper back in," warns Shannon G. Carrying additional leveling blocks proves beneficial at most Waynesburg-area pet-friendly campgrounds.
Hookup variations: Verify specific site utilities before booking. "We were in sight #9 that is close to the neighbors, but it had a large area in back with a fire pit," notes Julie R. about Mt Gilead State Park Campground. Full hookup sites tend to have less separation than electric-only options.
