Great for the price and location

Stayed here to be close to the NP and it is a great little campground for a reasonable price. Big dog park with pond on the other side of the park. Sites are uneven but my favorite part was the wooded path.

    Silver Springs Campground

    Nice campground near Cuyahoga

We were in the area exploring Cuyahoga Nat Park and found Silver Springs. It was 18$ for a site with electric hook ups (15$ if you are a Stow resident) No option for no paying less for no hook-up camping. Water close by and port a pottie style bathrooms close to the camp sites. There are flush toilets a walk away but we didn’t use them. Sites are big and grassy but not super level. Wasn’t a big issue for us but could be for a bigger camper. The campground was calm and quiet. Lots of trails close by. Dog park down the street as well as a play ground and fishing pond! We had a great few days staying here and will be back if we are even passing thru Stow again.

    Silver Springs Campground

    Lots of options!

We really loved this little spot! It appealed to all of what we were looking for, our camp host was awesome. There was even a dog park within walking distance- a lot of trails to explore too. No showers and the Porto potties weren't the cleanest... But they were functional. Very hospitable locals- we were invited to a square dancing party that evening in the park! Very comfy and safe.

    Silver Springs Campground

    Great parking

The bathrooms are portojons and there are no showers, however there is THE best dog park I have ever seen in this area. So my dogs loved this campground more than me and that was worth it. It was dark enough to see a space station cross the sky at night. The camping spaces are rather close, but so many people want to camp there, because of its proximity to everything amazing.

Family activities: Clay's Resort Jellystone Park offers extensive recreation options. "The activities here are endless! Fishing, volleyball, basketball, kayaking, zip lining in water with swimming (15 break every 45 min), mini golf, bounce trampoline pad, cornhole, etc!" reports Chelsea M.

What you should know

Water quality varies: Some campgrounds have well water with mineral content. At Clay's Resort Jellystone Park, one camper noted issues with "water smelled horrible, and both the shower head and faucet were caked with scum."

Seasonal differences: Many dog friendly campgrounds near Fairlawn operate from April/May through October, with limited winter options. Check specific seasonal dates when planning visits during shoulder seasons.

Limited drinking water: Heritage Farms does not provide potable water on-site. "No drinking water on site- but there is wash up water & very clean porta potties," explains Alyssa F., who otherwise found the campground "quiet" with "amazing views & abundant wild life."

Reservation requirements: Several campgrounds get fully booked during summer weekends. "Staff had crafts and pumpkin decorating for kids also and were helpful and friendly," notes Joe F. about Countryside Campground during Halloween events.

Tips for camping with families

Look for dedicated kid activities: American Wilderness offers structured programming for children. "We also liked the access to self-serve laundry and camp store as well," mentions Jessica J., who adds that her kids "enjoyed the arcade and gem mining."

Consider noise levels: Campgrounds have varying quiet hour enforcement. At Streetsboro-Cleveland SE KOA, Amanda K. found that "despite some loud campers on a nearby tent site, we loved this campground and would definitely go back!"

Check bathroom proximity: Countryside Campground features strategically placed facilities. "Our site was level side to side, lots are pretty tight in that area," observes Joe F., who recommends arriving early to avoid maneuvering challenges.

Pack for weather changes: Ohio weather can shift rapidly during camping season. "When we arrived the kids were trick or treating to each camp spot," notes Erin about Countryside Campground's Halloween festivities.

Tips from RVers

Site leveling challenges: Some campgrounds have uneven terrain requiring extra equipment. At Maple Lakes Campground, Jon P. found "plenty of grass and good spacing between the sites," noting that "most appear to be seasonal or full time living."

Electric hookup options: Streetsboro-Cleveland SE KOA provides full hookups for larger rigs. "The site was level and easy to hook up to," reports Scott C., who appreciated the campground accommodating his late arrival by leaving "a map and gate key at the office."

Dump station access: Willow Lake Park offers dump services, though availability may be limited. One visitor mentioned that at some campgrounds you might need to "schedule an appointment to have someone come by and dump you out."

RV size restrictions: Heritage Farms accommodates smaller rigs but lacks traditional RV hookups. "Sites are spread apart nicely. Each one has a picnic table and fire ring," notes Josh W., adding that the site "came with firewood and a little kindling too."
