We are a farm animal sanctuary and all of the 70+ animals on the property are rescues. The property itself is secluded, but not far from civilization. 

We are one and a half hours from Charlotte or Raleigh, and two hours from Asheville. Nearby Salem Lake features, kayaking, boating, walking and bicycle trails. Downtown Winston-Salem is only 10 minutes away and has several fun art galleries, bars and restaurants.

This is a family-run, nonprofit farm so there maybe be other people on the property taking care of the animals, especially in the mornings. If you have any questions about activities on the dates you are considering, we are happy to help! All proceeds go directly to the care of the animals. We look forward to having you stay!

The Space:
Make your way off of I-40 and visit our unique campsite in Winston Salem  just minutes south of Salem Lake. Our beautiful farm animal sanctuary is definitely the relaxing spot you're looking for!

Guest Access:
This is an exclusive Tentrr Signature campsite. Tentrr partners with land owners to offer unique accommodations in beautiful outdoor spaces. Our campsites are off-the-grid which means they generally do not have access to electricity, wifi, or modern plumbing. Instead, they offer the chance to relax, unplug, and fully experience nature! 

Your Tentrr campsite includes a 10'x12' (120 square feet) safari-style canvas tent on a raised wooden platform. Inside the tent you'll find one queen bed with a memory foam mattress. The tent is big enough for the bed plus one or two extra sleeping bags on the floor. Aside from the canvas tent, campers can also use the extra 5-person pop-up dome tent that___s provided. You'll also have a 6-ft picnic table, outdoor fire pit, 2 Tentrr Adirondack chairs, and a heating source to keep you warm and toasty at night. 

Max Occupancy: This refers to the total number of campers allowed onsite with your reservation. 

Toilets: Every campsite is equipped with a camp toilet (we call it the Tentrr Loo). This is a simple wooden box with a toilet seat and a bucket inside. To use, line the bucket with a CleanWaste Sani-Bag supplied at the camp prior to use. Afterwards, simply tie the bag up and place it in a trash bag. CleanWaste Sani-Bags use a NASA-developed gelling/deodorizing agent that helps prevent spills and keeps everyone safe and clean.

Showers: Every Signature campsite comes with a Coleman Sun Shower. The sun shower has a reservoir that holds up to 5 gallons of water, potentially enough for multiple showers. It's constructed of heat-locking material that warms the water when it's left in the sun, even on cool days.

-S'mores supplies & any food you'd like to eat
-A cooler to keep your grub from spoiling 
-Bedding and pillows
- Firewood
- Bug Spray

Interaction with Guests:
Upon check out, you should leave-no-trace of your stay and be sure your campsite is returned to its natural glory! While Tentrr does not charge a cleaning fee, we do expect campsites to be left how they were found. After you check out, take everything you brought in and be sure to leave your trash at the designated location.

If a Tentrr Host submits an incident report after your stay that details evidence of trash or damage to the campsite or the host's property, Tentrr reserves the right to charge a minimum cleaning fee of $50. Just make sure to follow the Camper Manual posted at your campsite and you'll be set!

Reservation Modifications/Cancellations: Please note the terms of the cancelation policy as they are outlined in your confirmation email. Your Tentrr Host is unable to change or cancel your reservation on your behalf, and they are unable to waive any cancellation fees (if applicable). If you have any questions regarding modifications to your booking, please reach out to Tentrr Customer Support.

Other Things to Note:
- Please don't feed the animals. (many are on special diets due to their past history)
- Please don't open gates or enter any animal enclosures. (this is for your safety and theirs)
- You are welcome to walk around outside the fenced areas and gently interact with animals that come over to greet you. (beware of your fingers as some will nip or head butt for attention)
- We are pet friendly, but please keep your pet close and be aware of other animals.

Bear Creek Tee-Pee Retreat is a small slice of paradise in Mocksville NC. We are the last property at the end of a dirt road surrounded by woods on all sides. We built this space as our little stay-cation spot and knew we had to share it with fellow lovers of all things outdoors.

We have 3 primitive sites and 1 authentic teepee. There is a bath house with a heated shower, and a port-a-john that is cleaned regularly. There are 2 picnic tables and a charcoal grill. We have a 24x16 enclosed stage that can be used for bands, educational classes, karaoke, yoga... ect. There is also an outdoor movie theater that we will occasionally play movies on for guests, but it is also available to rent for an evening.

There are a few restaurants close by. We are about a 5-minute drive to Lake Myers RV resort that has 2 Olympic size swimming pools. There are a lot of wineries and breweries within a 30 min drive from our property. We are also about 15 minutes from river access to the Yadkin River for anyone looking to Kayak.

We have 2 dogs that live here and will greet you at the gate. Please be respectful of the neighbors and drive slowly down the dirt road to our property to limit dust. Gate code will be provided prior to guests arrival. We look forward to hosting your camping get away.



Bear Creek Tee Pee Retreat

Twenty-three acres of bliss nestled in the rolling foothills of the Yadkin Pee Dee River Basin along side the southern fork of the Mitchell River.

In all we have 3 sites on the property. The RV/tent site, Glamping Cabin sit, Rustic Cabin site. Each site sits along side the river which is constantly uttering the wonderful sounds of fresh water rolling over the rocks. Also each site is in its own unique zone of the property so you feel like your camping without anyone else around. The RV site and The Glamping site share a porta potty. The completely secluded rustic cabin site sits in the very back of the property with its own outhouse. 

You may encounter wildlife such as Hawk, Deer, Turkey, Duck, Geese, Blue hearing, Box turtle, Skunk, Raccoon, Black snake(non-venomous)

The surrounding area is the epitome of rural foothills of North Carolina. On your way into the cabin you will see horse's/pastures Cow's/pastures, farm houses and more pastures. Keep your eyes peeled for deer grazing and crossing!
