Best RV Parks & Resorts near West Seneca, NY

Several RV parks surround West Seneca, New York, providing convenient access to Niagara Falls and Buffalo attractions. Southwoods RV Resort in Byron operates from May 1 to October 31, featuring full hookup sites with 30/50 amp service and big-rig friendly accommodations on level gravel pads. Niagara Falls Campground & Lodging offers 103 sites with full hookups and 50 amp electrical service, operating April through October. Skyline RV Resort in Darien Center provides both 30 and 50 amp hookups on sites that accommodate larger motorhomes, with seasonal availability from early May through mid-October. DINO RV Campground in nearby Cheektowaga maintains a smaller footprint with just three RV sites but includes full hookups. "The sites were level and our site had full hook ups. We were in a pull through site towards the back of the park," noted one RV camper about their Niagara Falls area experience.

Seasonal operation is standard for RV parks in this region, with most closing between late October and early April due to harsh winter conditions. Dump stations are available at all full-service RV resorts, though some state parks like Evangola offer electric-only sites with separate dump stations at the campground entrance. Cell service varies by location, with stronger signals reported at Niagara Falls/Grand Island KOA Holiday where Verizon users noted good reception. Pet policies are generally accommodating, though some parks require proof of rabies vaccination. For RV campers planning Niagara Falls visits, campgrounds on Grand Island provide a strategic location approximately 15-20 minutes from the falls with full hookup capabilities. Reservation requirements increase during summer months and fall foliage season when occupancy rates peak throughout Western New York RV parks.

    Evangola State Park Campground

Some Sites Have a View of Lake Erie

    Unfortunately, my site did not.

However, my site wasn't crowded and the electricity was reliable. This campground has three loops. One has 30 amp power, one has 50 amp power (with a 30 amp outlet on the same pedestal) and the third loop is for tent camping. There are several places to get water in the camp, so be sure to fill up your tanks before you park. There is a dump station. None of the sites are full hook up.

Each site has a picnic table and a grill.

There are two bath houses. The newer one - between loops one and three - also has laundry facilities.

Your payment for your campsite entitles you to admission to the beach, which is a hike or a drive away.

Four Mile Creek State Park Campground

    Simple campground on Lake Ontario

We stayed here because it was near Niagara Falls and had site availability. We stayed at a non-electric campsite (mid-June). There were 4 other campsites occupied in our area. We have a camper van with solar power and fresh water. There is a shower in the non-electric section but it's not heated water. Since it's June, the temperature was only mildly shocking to my senses. However, the rest of the showers in the campground are heated (we checked). There are at least two laundry facilities. I actually exchanged cash for quarters at the front office. The grounds are well maintained. Beware of the resident skunk that walks around. I didn't test the cell signal here but I was able to work remotely and video chat.

    Cinderella Motel & Campsite

Basic, Convenient, VFM (value for money)

This campground is very basic with very close campsites.  The bathhouse and laundry are old but clean.  The staff were very friendly and helpful.  It is very close to Niagara falls and for the money it is the best campground here.  KOA and Branches CGs are nicer but they are also triple the price which for us did not seem worth it.  We were in a back in gravel site that backed up to the motel which may not seem that nice but the electric, water and sewer worked perfectly.  Our 40 foot MH and Toad fit with room to spare.  There were sites that were on the outskirts of the property that backed to the woods which some people may prefer.  Those sites were just as close although there were several that would take big rigs bit don't expect to open your awnings in most sites.   There is a nice grassy area in the center with a small covered pavilion.   There are a few sites on the side/front of Motel.  We were here to visit Niagara Falls so location and a basic campground with full hookups was all we were looking for and this campground fit our needs perfectly.  We would stay here again.

    Niagaras Lazy Lakes Camping Resort

    Clean & Friendly

We have camped here several times. Bathrooms are very clean along with the showers. They are cleaned on a daily basis. Store on site has just the bare amenities. Big clubhouse, 2 heated pools and a pond to fish (catch & release). Sites are big. Pet friendly. Staff are very friendly. 10-15 minutes from Niagara Falls and close to stores. It does have 2 on site laundry facilities but the dryers take a while. Enjoy going there.

    Darien Lakes State Park Campground

    Clean/Quiet Campground

9/25-9/29/22- The park was nearly empty, perhaps 6 or 8 other campers widely spread out. It was immaculate and the sites well spaced apart. All site have a picnic table and fire pit. Ours had both 30A and 50A power, was pretty level left/right but about 6” high in front before we leveled our 34’ fifth wheel. The park has drinking water faucets at a variety of places throughout, but site#15 has a faucet directly next to it, so we had water available too. Both AT&T 4G and Verizon 5G had 3 bars reception. The dump station was clean and convenient. It looked like a great place for kids that included at least one (probably more) playground.

    AA Royal Motel & Campground

An old campsite that fits our needs

This is not a resort campground nor is it a campground built for escapism. It’s very close to Niagara Falls, the Rainbow Bridge (for driving into Canada), and Buffalo, NY.

Mike is very friendly; check in was easy. The sites are full hook up or w/e only. There are pull throughs and back-ins, 30amp and 50amp sites. Your site is assigned once you arrive. You pay a deposit when you book and pay the rest when you arrive.

They have Good Sam and weekly discounts and I was also given a cash/check discount. So our total was $51 a night for a week’s stay.

The sites toward the front are definitely more level and have better cell service, but the sites toward the back are better shaded. Cell service and wifi was enough for me to work during the week and stream at night.

The facilities could use some work. They are very old, and it’s hard to tell if they are clean or just old. Laundry is available - $2.50 a wash/$1.75 a dry.

Basically, don’t expect a beautiful vacation campground. I work full time remotely from the camper. I was able to work during the days and get to Niagara Falls, CAN, and Buffalo quickly after work. Even with the discount, which I’m thankful for, it is overpriced for what it is. But it served my needs, I felt safe, and the owner was friendly so 3 stars. With some TLC to the sites and the facilities, I’d give it 4.

    AA Royal Motel & Campground

    Good location

This campground is open year around which is really hard to find in this area. We needed to come here for personal reasons before any other campground was opened. So far this isn’t bad could be better/ cleaner.

It is 50 amp full hook up with free Wi-Fi that doesn’t suck.

The site are paved level back ins and pull throughs

The staff was nice enough. Haven’t had much interaction with him.

There is a great Italian store right across the street and Niagara Falls down the road. I would stay here in a pinch again

Some sites include a table, power access and tire rim for fire-ring. Showers & flushing toilets are near RV sites in back area. Small camp store, swimming pond & fishing pond. Manager, Christine very nice & helpful.

Campground is relatively close to scenic drives along Lake Ontario & Niagra State Park, Niagra Falls.

Guide to West Seneca

West Seneca, New York offers RV camping options approximately 10-25 miles from Niagara Falls, with most campgrounds located in the surrounding rural areas of Erie and Niagara counties. The region experiences four distinct seasons with camping availability typically limited to April through October due to harsh winter conditions. Most RV parks in this area require reservations, especially during peak tourism months when visitors use these locations as a base for exploring Buffalo's attractions and Niagara Falls.

What to do

Amusement park access: Six Flags Darien Lake Campground in Darien Center includes theme park admission with camping fees. "This is a large campground. Walking distance to the theme park. Campground fees include admission to the theme park," notes Mary H., who found it to be "a great family campground."

Visit local historic sites: When camping near West Seneca, plan day trips to nearby attractions. "We stayed at Southwoods while visiting the Rochester, NY area and exploring attractions in the area. The campground is about 20-25 miles from downtown Rochester and located in a quiet rural setting surrounded by farmland," writes Nancy W. about Southwoods RV Resort.

Local dining excursions: The area offers dining options near campgrounds. One camper at Southwoods RV Resort mentioned: "During our stay they had a closing weekend pizza and wings party with live music for a small fee. We chose not to go to the party but went to a local historic steak house (The Johnson House) and had delicious prime rib instead."

What campers like

Clean facilities: Campers frequently mention cleanliness as a priority. At Niagara Falls Campground & Lodging, one reviewer noted, "The area is very clean, friendly and safe," while another commented, "Basic, clean campground about 20 mins from the Falls."

Swimming pools: Several RV parks in the area feature swimming amenities. At Southwoods RV Resort, a camper shared, "We stayed in August and we really enjoyed the setup and location of all the amenities this campground has," while another mentioned, "Southwoods is a beautiful campground and accommodates campers of all ages. 2 well kept pools, playgrounds, laundry facilities, mini golf, soccer, basketball."

Weekend activities: Many campgrounds host scheduled events. "During our stay they had a closing weekend pizza and wings party with live music for a small fee," reported one camper at Southwoods RV Resort, showing how campgrounds organize social activities for guests throughout the season.

What you should know

Seasonal operations: Most RV parks near West Seneca operate during limited seasons. Skyline RV Resort in Darien Center runs from "May 2 - Oct 13," according to their listing, with one camper noting, "Great campground, a little tight if you like to spread out."

Site spacing variations: Campground density differs across parks. "The sites were level and there was nice grass between sites," noted one Southwoods RV Resort visitor, while another observed, "Weekend sites would be pretty tight together if they were fully booked."

Noise considerations: Proximity to transportation corridors affects some campgrounds. A camper at Niagara Falls Campground & Lodging reported, "The noises of the town made it very difficult to sleep in our tent. It's right off the main road and nearby trains blared their horns throughout the night."

Tips for camping with families

Look for recreational options: Six Flags Darien Lake Campground offers unique family benefits. "Obviously being connected to Six flags is a fun family stop, but every part of the camping experience is treated with attention to detail and great services," notes one reviewer who found staff exceptionally helpful.

Consider campground atmosphere: Some parks are more family-focused than others. "Family friendly park, lots of activities, park hosts/owners are hands on and awesome," reported one camper about Southwoods RV Resort, while another added, "Such a sweet time here. Owner was so pleasant as was the woman who helped me book our stay."

Check playground facilities: Kid-friendly amenities vary between campgrounds. "Lots of plays areas for kids," noted a Southwoods RV Resort visitor, indicating suitable facilities for families with children.

Tips from RVers

Site leveling: Check campground reviews for information about site conditions. At Red Rock Ponds RV Resort, a visitor observed it's a "Nice, smaller campground with adequate sites. Appears more for permanent campers," indicating the type of camping community you might encounter.

Service availability: Some parks offer unexpected services. One Six Flags Darien Lake camper reported, "We needed help with our water heater in our own RV and the camp team sent over a mechanic to sort it out within minutes. Free of charge."

Campground layout: Understanding the layout helps with site selection. A Southwoods RV Resort camper shared, "All the utilities were placed appropriately so we didn't need any extensions. The water pressure and electric were good. Most of the roads in the park are paved with the exception of the pull-thru section in the front of the park which is gravel."
