What campers like
Amenity variety: HTR Niagara Campground (formerly Branches of Niagara) features cabins with extensive on-site recreation. "This was the most perfect family campground we've been to. The staff is very nice and they're always outside working and helping. The back sites were perfect and decent sized. They have every amenity you could need and the grounds are pristine," writes L W.
Peaceful lake views: Four Mile Creek State Park Campground cabins offer unique waterfront experiences. "Our row of sites was separated from Lake Ontario by a large, open field. The sunset views over the lake each evening were spectacular. Our site actually had a gravel driveway and pad, as did several others, but I noticed that the majority of sites were grass only," explains Jen V.
Winter cabin options: Some cabins remain available during colder months, unlike the summer-only operations mentioned in the existing description. "We did some winter camping here. We backpacked into the lean to along the Conservation Trail. It was in good condition and we had a large clearing for activities. No issues with animals," notes Leah W. about Darien Lakes State Park Campground.
What you should know
Bathroom distance: Golden Hill State Park Campground cabin locations can be far from facilities. "There are 2 bathrooms in the campground, one near the A-B loops and one near the entrance. It was quite a hike in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom from our site," cautions Leah L.
Peak season noise levels: Summer weekends bring crowds to certain cabin areas. "We came a stayed the weekend, which was packed and very loud. There was a Christmas in July theme and the Christmas lights were honestly annoying. Sunday night rolled around though and everything changed," reports Megan T. about Medina Wildwood Lake KOA.
Insect issues: Sleepy Hollow Lake Campground cabins may experience seasonal pest problems. "We had a lot of fun here and there's a lot of activities for kids. I would typically give this campsite 5 stars but our only problem was there were bees everywhere. I get some bees are apart of the camping experience and nature but we've never ran into this problem elsewhere," shares MacKenzi G.
Tips for camping with families
Book cabins near playgrounds: Some cabin locations offer direct access to play areas. "Branches has a lot to offer on site and near by. The pool and lazy river are beautiful, the zip line is awesome and they have great sites," recommends Amy T.
Consider cabin accessibility: Not all cabins have equal access to facilities and activities. "The closest bath house to our site was unfortunately the most dated and dirty of them. The showers were pretty gross, and the bathroom stalls were so-so," reports Jen V. about Four Mile Creek.
Evaluate noise factors: Niagara Falls/Grand Island KOA Holiday cabins vary in noise exposure. "It is right off the roadway so there is some road noise. However it is a heavily populated area and we just needed a layover place to base out of for our quick visit to Niagara falls," explains Thomas S.

Verify accessibility: Letchworth State Park Campground cabins require evaluation for access needs. "The campground, which is about 15 miles from the major falls area, offers what many come to expect from state parks.
