    SUMMARY PRESENTED BYT-Mobile

Liberty Harbor RV Park offers 90 RV sites with water and electric hookups within 30 miles of Cresskill. This Jersey City location provides 50-amp service, showers, toilets, and sanitary dump facilities with sites that can accommodate large motorhomes. One camper shared that "the campground is nothing special, literally a parking lot with water and electric hookups. Larger rigs will barely have a yard," making this option better suited for travelers prioritizing NYC access rather than natural surroundings. Nearby in Matamoras, Pennsylvania, Tri-State RV Park provides full hookup campsites with water, electric, and sewer connections — one of the stronger RV camping options in the region for big rigs needing pull-through sites. Fires are permitted at designated rings with each site featuring a picnic table.

Fall through spring availability varies significantly among the region's RV parks. Beaver Pond Campground in Harriman State Park operates seasonally from April through early October, offering electric hookups and dump station access. Cell service reliability fluctuates throughout the area, with several parks reporting spotty coverage. A visitor commented that "AT&T had ok data connection with 1-2 bars most of the time. There is no satellite coverage due to the heavy tree canopy." Pets are welcome at most facilities, though some state parks restrict animals to designated sites only. Navigation to mountain campgrounds like those in Harriman may present challenges for larger motorhomes, with narrow access roads and low-hanging branches reported at several locations. Dump stations are available at most parks, though reviews indicate Black Bear RV Park in Florida, NY provides sewer hookups directly at sites.

      Blydenburgh County Park

      Big Rig Camping in Blydenburgh

We have a 42 ft 5th wheel toy hauler. A few Big Rig spots are available, but this is a Suffock Co Campground that is not well maintained. 2 miles of the Road have many areas of missing blacktop making a very rough ride with low branches. The dump station is basically not accessible to a big rig. Most of the longer sites were very difficult to level.

      Kymers Camping Resort

Fun, friendly & nestled in the woods

We stayed at Kymer's on a whim for a weekend, so we could be close to Mountain Creek for a Spartan Race. It truly exceeded our expectations in all aspects. This is a family friendly, camper-friendly place. Lots of seasonals- everyone waves, everyone stops to chat. This is what a campground should feel like. The sound of laughter and play sitting around the huge, clean pool was refreshing. Our site was Oak 10. It was level, good placement of electric water & sewer connects. Camp store has all the basics you might need. There is a brook that flows adjacent to the property. It's peaceful & magical. Pet friendly, although we didn't have our pup with us. We will be back again. I almost feel like I'm revealing a hidden gem with this post. 💎

      Mahlon Dickerson Reservation

      Nice, small, spacious campground

We stayed at site 15 for 5 days. The sites are nicely wooded, very well spaced, fairly level with 50A service and water hookup. Although the water spigots were shared between sites, they provide hose caddies that should reach most RV hookups. No sewer hookup, but there is a convenient dump station. There are no fire rings in the RV section, only raised grills. We had the place pretty much to ourselves during the week, but the weekend did get busy. AT&T had ok data connection with 1-2 bars most of the time. There is no satellite coverage due to the heavy tree canopy. OTA TV was very inconsistent using an external omni antenna. There is no WiFi. There is a very nice network of trails in the reservation, most if not all were leashed dog friendly. There is a very nice restaurant, Stone Water, less than 10 miles away and is right on lake Hopatcong.

      Panther Lake Camping Resort

      Stayed all summer

We stayed at Panther Lake as full timers all season. Great during the week but very busy on weekends. Could be noisy with children not very well supervised.
Friendly, helpful staff. Cable TV poor when it rains. Cell service spotty all carriers. No internet at sites. Lake beautiful and pool nice.

      Mountain Top RV Park

      Great Stopover Campground

We recently had the pleasure of staying at Mountain Top and were were impressed by the exceptional experience and service provided by the owners. The newly upgraded camp infrastructure elevated the stay, providing amenities for comfort and entertainment. The family-friendly atmosphere was evident through the thoughtfully designed property, including an updated pool, playground, game room, and a brand-new pickleball court that added a unique touch to the stay. The investment in new 50amp wiring, upgraded sewer systems, and newer water lines  provided convenient camping experience. Overall, this campground exceeded expectations, offering a blend of modern convenience and family-oriented fun that made our stay memorable.

The video posted shows the full hook-up area. The water and electric sites and tent sites were tucked away in a more wooded environment.

      Panther Lake Camping Resort

      Great place for groups

Fun camping place to books groups. Very kid and pet friendly, lake to fish and kayak on, lots of activities, great pool and awesome hot tub. Only down side is that even though they say they have wifi, you can't hook up to it unless you are at the pavilion. And good luck getting cell service! its like a black hole of signals there. Otherwise, we really love this place!

      New York City North-Newburgh KOA

      Good amenities and fun experience!

Campsites Great campsites, wooded and cozy, though a little tight for longer rigs as our neighbors found out when they ran over a wooden post backing in. But spaced apart nicely with lots of vegetation between. Nice and level. Amenities Bathrooms are older and need of some repair but let me tell you I was very happy to see a normal shower head with real hot water! So no complaints here. Laundry facilities were clean and open 24/7 with reasonable prices 2.50/2.00 washer/dryer. And the dryers actually worked. Small dog park, communal spaces, and a camp store all made the place feel like a little village. They even have a wine store- cab sav was good. WiFi I work remotely and WiFi is always an issue. We have Starlink but in a wooded campsite, connecting is an issue but luckily their WiFi was great. Had no issues and could stream just fine. Halloween! We visited mid October and folks had sites decorated and the KOA has trick or treating and other activities every weekend in Oct. we were SO bummed to be leaving on a Friday and miss the festivities because it looked really fun. Would definitely go back. Also, staff was super nice.

      Panther Lake Camping Resort

      Nice campground

It is a nice campground with lots of shady RV sites. Fire rings and picnic tables provided at each site and cabin. Lots of family activities on the weekend. Enjoyed the pool and hot tub, Hiking trails and paved roads to ride bike. Staff is friendly and helpful. WiFi only around office and bad cell service with Verizon.

    Guide to Cresskill

Seasonal RV facilities near Cresskill, New Jersey offer varying levels of accessibility throughout the year, with elevations ranging from sea level at Liberty Harbor to over 1,300 feet at Harriman State Park. Most campgrounds in the region remain open from April through October, though several private RV parks maintain year-round operations. Winter camping options become significantly limited after November, with reduced services at remaining open facilities.

    What to do

Waterfront activities: Clarence Fahnestock State Park offers swimming at Canopus Lake with a concession area and bathhouse. "The beach is closed after Labor Day to the public, but open to people staying at the campsite. Clean and beautiful," notes Courtney D. The park also provides boat rentals for lake exploration.

Farm interactions: At Pleasant Acres Farm RV Resort, campers can interact with farm animals. "The farm has goats, a donkey, and a pony within the campground. Very cool," reports Faith D. Children particularly enjoy feeding the animals, with scheduled activities throughout the summer months.

Metropolitan exploration: From Liberty Harbor RV Park, visitors access New York City via multiple transportation options. "There is a ferry 100-yards away that takes you to Wall Street M-F. There is a great market about 1/4 of a mile away, and the path that can take you to WTC or 33rd Street area is only a mile away," explains Shawn B. The location provides unmatched urban access while maintaining RV camping capabilities.

    What campers like

Private wooded sites: Beaver Pond Campground offers secluded camping spaces in forested settings. "The biggest positive about Beaver Pond is how spread out it was. You definitely feel like you have your own space and are not camping on top of your neighbor," writes Ethan K. The raised platform tent sites provide additional benefits during wet weather.

Convenience for overnight stops: Tri-State RV Park serves as a practical stopover for travelers. "Located just off the highway so lots of vehicle noise 24/7. Sites are on a gravel lot. Restrooms are clean. Not much else to say about this CG, is just a parking lot with hookups," explains Michael H. The park remains open year-round with same-day reservations available.

Urban proximity: Many campers appreciate Liberty Harbor's location despite its limited amenities. "This is all about location. The closest RV park to NYC. It's basically a parking lot with a dump station. Not much else," states Keith and Tia S. This sentiment appears consistently across reviews, with campers accepting the trade-off for metropolitan access.

    What you should know

Facility limitations: Most RV sites near Cresskill offer basic facilities with varying restrictions. At Black Bear RV Park, "Rita who helped make our reservation is a treasure. Extremely helpful! Basic sites with full hookups for about $80 a night. All the buildings are closed due to Covid, so no laundry & no bathroom," reports P. Similar limitations exist at other parks during off-seasons.

Noise considerations: Highway proximity affects several campgrounds. Tri-State RV Park receives consistent mentions of traffic noise: "While the staff is very friendly and polite you are basically in a old parking lot right below the freeway. Very easy to get on & off the highway but loud highway noise almost all night," notes Rick G.

Reservation requirements: Most campgrounds require advance booking, especially during peak seasons. Clarence Fahnestock State Park fills quickly: "This place can book up during camping season in the Northeast so make sure to book early in advance," advises Asher K. Weekday availability generally improves across all parks.

    Tips for camping with families

Animal encounters: Children enjoy the farm animals at Pleasant Acres. "My daughter loved the horses and goats," shares Erin S. The campground offers scheduled activities specifically designed for younger campers throughout the summer season.

Playground access: Beaver Pond Campground includes playground facilities alongside natural recreation opportunities. "Full bathrooms and slop sinks throughout the campsite. The campsites are a bit close to one another but if you have a big group you can book several sites near each other and have a great time with family and friends," recommends Kelvin.

Budget-friendly options: For cost-conscious families, Beaver Pond provides affordable camping. "This is an off-grid camping experience. You can use your generator at certain hours. They have a beach. Their staff is friendly. I love going here," mentions Adaly, noting the $15 rate.

    Tips from RVers

Site selection strategies: At Mountain Top RV Park, site location matters significantly. "If you're booking, it may be best to book on the upper levels because the lower area where we were did flood pretty bad a couple times when there was a lot of rain," advises @HomegrownRV.

Access challenges: Many RV parks have specific navigation concerns. At Black Bear RV Park, "Getting in and out is an adventure. Stay right off the highway to avoid the $30 tunnel toll. Follow RV life pro and not Waze," suggests Joe R.

Hookup positioning: When using full-hookup sites, be aware of utilities placement. At NWS Earle RV Park, "All spaces are level concrete with full hookups and attached concrete patio. Power is at the far back & sewage is in the middle (left to right). A longer camper will be parked over the sewage connection," notes Jeffrey.
