    Las Vegas RV Resort

    East side conveniences

Staff personnel are very helpful and efficient. Las Vegas is spread out which makes it more convenient if you have your own vehicle to use. The option is to use a ride share (Uber or Lift). You do not want to use your Big Rig to get around. This park has approximately 75% long term residents, being here has converted us to stay at least, and probably we will stay even longer. The pool & hot tub are open year round.

Las Vegas KOA Journey at Sam's Town

Las Vegas KOA at Sam's Town (at Boulder Hwy)

For a casino campground, you can't beat this one. It's greatest attraction is that you are within walking distance of Sam's Town Hotel & Casino, which is a great local place with movie theaters, large selection of dining options (sit down restaurants & fast food), gorgeous 10-story indoor atrium with the Mystic Falls Laser Light Show, and of course gaming. As for the KOA, there's a pool, showers, laundry facility, full hook-ups, propane refills, Wi-Fi, cable, clubhouse, general store, pet park with bench & shade, and a Wal-mart right across the street (with a fairly large RV supply section).

It should be noted that Sam's Town KOA has 2 locations:  5225 Boulder Highway (which is discussed in this review).  And... 4040 S. Nellis Blvd (which is very much inferior).  Beware of your location when booking reservations!!

Saddle West Hotel Casino RV Resort

This place isn’t missing a thing

Whether you want to stay a night, week or A month this place has it all. Full hook ups, no tent camping, some pull through sites others are back in. Handicap spots available near the restrooms. This park also has Restrooms, showers and laundry available. They have a hotel and a bar/ restaurant. Pool is available for everyone staying and dogs are allowed as long on leashes. They offer water Dump station available Sewage hook ups A few gazebos around the park so you can enjoy a sandwich at a table. You are Literally in the center of the city. They do have some rules and guidelines I would read and check out their website because they are very particular with the type of rvs and travel trailers they allowed so read the guidelines before you book. Lush trees surrounding nicely paved roads. Overall a nice place to come to.

    Preferred RV Resort

    Everyone Is So Friendly!

Stayed here for a night to do laundry, shower, etc.  It's your basic RV park in terms of layout and close neighbors, but we were so impressed with how friendly everyone is!  It might be because it's sort of a co-op, and long term residents are part owners.  Overnighters are welcome though.

We paid $27.25 total with our Passport America discount, so roughly double that without the discount.

Showers were very clean, facilities looked like they'd been recently remodeled.

Laundry was nice and cheap and dryers worked well.  $1/wash and $1.50/dry.

Lots of activities and community events going on here.  Residents seem really happy to be here and were very welcoming even to short timers like us.  There's even a host who stopped by our RV to welcome us and gave us a ton of information and literature about things to do in town and the surrounding area.

The pool is beautiful, and there's a really lovely small walking garden with benches and ponds with huge koi, shaded areas to sit and hang out.

Recycling is available here (but they don't take glass).

There's a small clean gravel dog run as well.

Propane is also for sale here for $3.75/gal for non members, RV tanks filled on Tuesdays only.  There's also a cylinder exchange.

They have a dump and potable water fill available for non-guests for $10.

Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area - Red Rock Campground

Hard to believe how close to Las Vegas this campground is!

This campground is open September through June and all sites are dry camping. There is a separate area for RVs, trailers, and vans but many camper vans (including ours) were in the tent section. The camper pads in this area are dirt/gravel and not all of them are level but we made it work. Each site has a fire ring, BBQ grill, and picnic table. Some of the sites (but not all) have a covered picnic table and the table is located on a cement pad.

There are more than sufficient vault toilets sprinkled throughout the campground and all the ones we used were clean. No showers. No dump station.

The hosts were great – they are from Minnesota, and it is their third year at this campground. They made daily rounds and were very friendly.

This campground is located just outside the park and therefore not subject to the park fees. You will need a timed entry for the 13-mile scenic drive from October through May (but if you enter before 8 am, you will not need it). We had only a fleeting one bar of Verizon cell service. Make sure you make reservations as the campground was full on a Monday night in mid-November.

    Las Vegas RV Resort

Great location! Good sized spaces, clean, great for dogs!

We stayed in a “deluxe” pull-through site for two nights. Friendly staff, they help you park from the gate with a golf cart, super clean facility. Multiple dog areas, including a large, multi-run area.

Guide to Indian Springs

RV accommodations near Indian Springs, Nevada extend beyond basic hookups, offering outdoor recreation opportunities in the Mojave Desert. The region sits at elevations between 3,000-5,000 feet, creating cooler temperatures than Las Vegas, particularly at higher elevation campgrounds. Seasonal considerations impact the camping experience, with extreme summer heat affecting lower elevation sites and winter bringing potential snow to mountain areas.

What to Do

Desert exploration from base camp: Campers staying at Wine Ridge RV Resort can use it as a central location for day trips. "This place is absolutely beautiful and the charming little place for sure to stay in and reasonable prices as well," notes one visitor who appreciated its accessibility to surrounding attractions.

Shooting sports access: The Clark County Shooting Park provides designated camping with direct access to shooting facilities. "This shooting complex is a great facility for the gun and archery enthusiast, and has level, full hookup, pull through sites with a great view of the Las Vegas valley," reports one reviewer who enjoyed the combined camping and recreational shooting experience.

Water recreation opportunities: For water activities, travelers recommend visiting Pahrump. "You can get lakefront RV spots which are so cool if you have a little canoe kayak anything and just jump on the lake and enjoy your day," explains a visitor who enjoyed the contrast between water recreation and desert surroundings.

What Campers Like

Military camping security: Active and retired military personnel have exclusive access to Desert Eagle RV Park on Nellis Air Force Base. "This is by far the best, cleanest, nicest, best shade coverage, mostly pull thrus, tons of mature trees for shade, and the safest. You will not need to tie down anything loose around your site for fear of being stolen here," explains a reviewer who values the security.

Community amenities: Many RVers appreciate the social aspects available at parks like Preferred RV Resort. "Lots of activities and community events going on here. Residents seem really happy to be here and were very welcoming even to short timers like us," shares one visitor who found the community welcoming despite being a short-term guest.

Desert oasis settings: The contrast between desert surroundings and green campgrounds appeals to many visitors. "Wow just when you pull in you see trees galore after getting here driving through the desert you realize you've now arrived in a little oasis," notes a camper who appreciated the relief from surrounding desert landscapes.

What You Should Know

Elevation variations affect temperature: Higher elevation campgrounds provide relief from desert heat in summer months, but may have limited access in winter. At Lee RV Camp Group Campground, one visitor notes, "After spot 66 is the best and they do have trash cans and bathrooms. The host is very nice and the roads are paved, perfect for your kids to ride their bikes."

Tent camping limitations: Despite some listings showing tent camping availability, always call ahead to confirm. "This is a PSA for anyone trying to find tent reservations on their website. You won't find it despite the description saying it has them available. I called and spoke to a representative who assured me they do not offer tent sites, RV only," warns a visitor about one park that incorrectly listed tent camping.

Extended stay options: Several RV parks offer monthly rates for longer visits. "We spent a month at this lovely campground... Very level sites that give you more yard than most campgrounds," reports a visitor who found extended stays provide better value.

Tips for Camping with Families

Pool access for heat relief: During summer months, pools become essential for families camping in lower elevations. "The splash pad was actually not bad, and you get in without a fee. It was the only saving grace against the heat, and the pools were right next to the RV parking," shares a parent who visited when temperatures reached 112°F.

Entertainment variety: Look for campgrounds with multiple recreation options. "Full RV hook ups complete shade because of all the trees a Casino in case you want to go try your luck gas station in corner store literally on the same property oh did I mention a swimming pool and volleyball courts?" describes one visitor about the range of activities at Lakeside Casino & RV Resort.

Wildlife education opportunities: Bird watching becomes a family activity at several local campgrounds. "If you're a bird watcher, this is a great spot to do it," suggests a reviewer who enjoyed the wildlife viewing potential with children.

Tips from RVers

Dump station access: Non-guests can access dump stations at several facilities. For example, at Preferred RV Resort, "They have a dump and potable water fill available for non-guests for $10," notes a visitor who found this service useful while passing through.

Site selection strategy: When making reservations, request specific sites at certain rv sites near Indian Springs, Nevada. "If you call in your reservation you can request a specific spot number and there is a map of the camp ground on the website," advises one experienced RVer who found this approach helpful for securing preferred locations.

Service reliability: Cell coverage remains consistent at most established RV parks, though service diminishes in more remote areas. Water pressure and electrical service quality varies between facilities, with older parks sometimes experiencing maintenance issues.
