Nice campground in the basic section of campground 1
It was a great campground, well maintained, clean bathrooms, a nice playground for kids. The sites all seemed pretty spacious. I was kind of disappointed that our spot had Zero shade but it looked like the majority of spots had at least a little. We also went to Longview lake and really enjoyed it.
Very fish rich lake. Great water nutrient lake. Kayaks will glide like ice. Large Catfish. Pretty clean but limited RV grounds. Open though for easy pull in access.
This is a very clean and well kept campground. Some areas are very close together but I believe we are just all overnight campers in this area. They do have larger campground areas. The bathrooms are kept clean and have nice showers. The pool is also well kept. I would definitely stay here again!
The area is surrounded heavily with ticks. Be prepared if bringing animals. There is also quite a fair amount of garbage laying around the sites and down by the lake, which is sad given is seclusion and beauty. No water or power. Vaulted toilet, not well cleaned. All spots were very level and great for tent/car camping. It looked like 4 spots with fire rings and tables and a spot or 2 that you could pull into with no ring or table. Lovely fishing spot from what the locals said. Bass, catfish, and bluegill in the lake. Lake is not swimmable. Overall still nice and quiet.
My site was 10 ft from the water, the sunrise was amazing to watch! JD was a great host! Super friendly and great communication. The trains and traffic weren't too bad, the trains were nice enough not to lay on their horns as they went by. Bathrooms were nice, camping sites were nice with firepits and picnic tables. Will definitely be returning for another weekend getaway!
Nice little tuck away close to town but far away enough you can consider it a get away they have rv parking and cabins
We stayed here in June of 2026. The Campground Managers were friendly and helpful. The campground and facilities were clean. We would stay here again. Nice area to explore.
Gravel sites are level and very close together. Some sites have shade. Clean and well kept.
