Best RV Parks & Resorts near New Iberia, LA

Several RV parks located near New Iberia accommodate motorhome travelers with varied amenities. Chases RV Park offers full hookup sites with 30-amp service, water connections, and sewer hookups. Camp Margaritaville RV Resort in Breaux Bridge features 513 sites with 50-amp electrical service on concrete pads, approximately 15 miles from New Iberia. Parkside RV Park provides level paved sites with 50-amp hookups and sewer connections, while Abbeville RV Park, situated about 20 miles southwest, includes big-rig friendly spaces with full hookups. Sites throughout the region range from spacious pull-throughs to tighter back-in spots, with most offering concrete or gravel pads. "Our site was easy to level. We had full hook-up with a concrete pull-through and were able to fit both our 14-foot trailer and jeep along with space for another vehicle," noted one camper at Camp Margaritaville.

Access to most New Iberia area RV parks involves paved roads within minutes of Interstate 10 or major highways. During winter months, many snowbirds migrate to the region, making advance reservations advisable from November through March. Sanitary dump stations are available at most facilities, though their configurations vary in accessibility. "The dump station connection for your sewer hose is at a 45 degree angle and a bit above ground level. This creates sags in your hose," reported one visitor to a nearby park. Cell service is generally reliable with both Verizon and AT&T throughout the region. Most parks accommodate pets with designated dog areas, though some restrict certain breeds or impose pet fees. Laundry facilities are present at larger parks, with typical costs around $2-4 per load. Many parks remain open year-round, though swimming pools and water features typically operate from spring through fall. RV storage is limited across the area, so travelers should arrange alternative options if planning extended stays without their rigs.

    Maxie's Campground

    Basic and nice

Stayed here with the Passport America discount and paid $23 for a 30 amp FHU site, so roughly double that for the full price. 50 amp is a bit more. Sites are all back in, and on the freeway, so it’s very loud. The website directs you to book your site online, but when we tried to do that, every single site showed as being available, which didn’t seem right to me, so we decided to just drive to the park first. Office was closed when we arrived (owners were at church), so we drove through the park, found an open site, found that site on their website, paid, and pulled in and set up. Owners pulled up to greet us and welcome us when they returned from church so I guess how we did it was fine.

Park is very basic, but nice. Free hot showers, nice laundry room ($4 for wash, $1.50 for dry- expensive but the machines are bigger than normal). There’s also a coke vending machine. Dumpster here but no recycling. Park offers free wifi but my Kaspersky internet security didn’t like something about it (doesn’t usually alert me when I use public wifi), so I just used my cell phone hotspot. Good cell service with ATT and Verizon.

Camp Margaritaville RV Resort Breaux Bridge

    Super fun place to be

Our site was $63 a night for 5 nights & $79 for two nights. We got a weekly rate of $574.16

We were in Site# 2144 The check in was at 12pm and Check out is at 11am.
We had Full hook- up with a concrete pull-through.
We travel towing a 14 foot trailer and were able to fit both in our pull through site along with my jeep.

The site was easy to level.

Our site was fairly shaded with one tree. This was a smaller lot with our neighbors fairly close.

The lot comes with a concrete patio with picnic table and fire ring.

It is an easy access to the campground from highway -(less than 1 mile from highway).

There is free WiFi. They offer Cable TV and there are many channels.

There is not a community outdoor kitchen but do have quite a few community fire pits.
They sell wood but were out the entire week we were there.

They pickup your garbage at your site daily.

You are allowed to ride personal golf carts. They also allow you to rent golf carts. It is beneficial to have a golf cart to get around since it is a large campground. They would not let us use our e-bikes around the campground.

They do have multiple swimming pools including a water playground and splash pad. There is a huge hot tub. We especially loved the 21+pool with swim up bar. Water Amenities are open from March 29th-October 26th. You can also rent poolside cabanas. They have a few smaller ponds for catch & release fishing.

They have a decent general store with some food, accessories, and clothes options.

There is a separate Activity Center for kids. There are tons of scheduled activities for kids like gem mining, tie dying, candle making, candy bar bingo, sand art, etc.

There is a Playground. They also offer pickleball, cornhole, and basketball sport court. There is a Game room for kids. They have a workout room for adults.

There are three bars (one serving food) and a separate concession stand that also serves food.

Right outside of the park is a delicious restaurant/fresh seafood market with a daiquiri drive thru (many flavors).

There is live music on site!

The streets are paved and good for riding bikes. There is not really anywhere to ride bikes outside of campground.

They have multiple RV slip options along with cabins/cottages/villas for rent. Tent camping is not allowed.

They have many shower houses. The shower house has individual bathrooms with your own sink, shower, toilet. These are kept very clean.

There is a few laundry facilities. They allow you to use cash or credit card. It is approximately $2 to wash and $2to dry a load.

They have a fenced in dog park (Barkaritaville) with a dog wash. It is located in the back far corner of the park.

Bugs were a little bit of an issue and bug spray was definitely needed.

There were no trails to hike in the campground but the park is so huge, it is a great walk within itself.

We shopped at the local market outside of the park and the Piggly Wiggly. We went on the Cajun Food Tour and definitely recommend this (link on CM’s website).

    Farr Park RV Camground

One of the better RV parks in BR Area

One of the better RV parks in the BR area (there's not many close to town).  Has electric and water hookups, but no sewer hookup.  The Mississippi River is nearby. There is a paved bike path on top of the river levee that you can ride all the way to downtown Baton Rouge.  It is only 3 miles from LSU campus.  Some people stay here to tailgate for LSU football games.

Farr Park is part of the Baton Rouge Parks and Recreation system.  It is also an equestrian (horse) center.  There are stables and riding arenas near the campground.

There is a dump station available.  The dump station connection for your sewer hose is at a 45 degree angle and a bit above ground level.  This creates sags in your hose.  Also, there is no way to secure or screw in your connection to the sump station.  The station does have a concrete pad and non-potable water.  You can use the dump station for free if you are a camper.  Non-campers can pay a $10 fee to dump.

    Farr Park RV Camground

    Spacious with Horse Views

This campground is so romantic with coral sunsets and country vibes. Spots are spacious and not crowded so you can spread out. Great paths for walking. Its hot but the bugs are not overwhelming. Close to the college and downtown. Perfect views of the horses I could watch them all day. 30/50 amp electric, water, pull through sites. No sewage but there is a dump station to empty on way out.  Bathrooms have restrooms and showers available. 8/10.

    Farr Park RV Camground

    Great location

Stayed Thu-Sun on an LSU football game weekend. Didn’t see anyone at the office- but spaces are well marked for finding the reserved spot. We were in B6- so no real shade- in the late afternoon the only decent shade is on row E. We had good cell signal and were able to stream.

When we arrived there were very few campers- but the park got a lot more visitors by late Friday. It was still pretty quiet throughout the stay. Many of the “campers” were large class A or Fifth wheels, but there were a few smaller units like ours (17 ft. TT). The spaces are grass which was obviously recently mowed and the driveway is white gravel/rock. We used the back trail to get to the levee to ride our e bikes and went on about a 30 mile ride south past L’Auberge, and then we went on another 10 mile ride north toward the capital. The bike paths are in good condition and there are a good number of walkers/runners/bicyclists/and scooters using the paths. I checked out the bath house and it was clean and well maintained. There were 4 (ladies) showers and 3 stalls. There are multiple spaces for campers to dump, although we needed to use the front spots due to height. We decided to get an early start on Sunday morning and were at the dump station before 8- only one other unit arrived when we were finishing up- there wasn’t a line to wait in for us. We will definitely return to Farr for another game weekend. We really enjoyed our stay.

Lake End Park Campground & Marina

    Lake Side Large park

This is a busy weekend park within 2 miles of Morgan City, LA. It sits on the edge of a large freshwater lake and has great views. Many sites appear to be Big Rig Friendly. There are various sections of park to choose from. Easy access to park and paved roads inside park. Includes bathhouses, office area, beach and nice boat ramp with dock space. Not sure of a charge for ramp or docks. The East side of the park is wide open and very easy to access with today’s mega rigs and 5th wheels. A large dog park is walking distance and right along the lakeshore.

    Poche's RV Park & Fish-N-Camp

Nice RV park. Convenient for canoeing in Bayou Teche.

Poches RV park is nice, well maintained, and has number of amenities. We had a wonderful weekend stay, and the weather was perfect. We canoed in the Shake Your Trail Feather festival on Bayou Teche. The RV park was close the the canoe trailhead. Take the time to explore the city of Breaux Bridge.

Go to Poches Market and buy some pork sausage stuffed with jalapeos. Also, be sure to make a reservation and go eat at Little Big Cup in Arnaudville about 15 minutes away.

Stayed in campsite#69. Back-in site with concrete parking, picnic table, and fire ring. 15A/30A/50A, water, and sewer hookups. It has a nice grass area with fire pit in the rear of the site next to the lake. Not much shade in the campsite. The site is located on the lake. Neighbors were pretty close. Roads in the park were asphalt or gravel. The free WiFi throughout the park was adequate for checking emails, surfing the web, etc. We camped in a Travel Trailer. Would stay here again. We camped at Poche's RV Park in a Travel Trailer.

Guide to New Iberia

RV parks near New Iberia, Louisiana sit in the heart of Cajun Country, where the elevation averages just 20 feet above sea level across predominantly flat terrain. The subtropical climate brings humid summers with temperatures frequently exceeding 90°F from June through September, while mild winters rarely drop below freezing. Most RV sites in this region feature gravel or concrete pads designed to provide stable footing in an area prone to seasonal rain that averages 60 inches annually.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: Several RV parks offer stocked ponds for guests to enjoy catch-and-pay fishing. At Catfish Heaven Aqua Farm & RV Park, visitors can fish in well-maintained ponds, though "you must pay for what you catch and no catch and release," according to Mark J. The park has been a longstanding fishing spot as Lauren G. notes, "Done a lot of fishing out here since I was a child- great place to take kids, lots of fun!"

Pool and waterpark activities: Many parks feature pools with added amenities perfect for cooling off during hot Louisiana summers. Camp Margaritaville RV Resort Breaux Bridge stands out with "3 pools with swim up bars, a giant hot tub and a well manicured park," as Mark S. describes. Jessica B. adds, "Movie theater, small game room, tiki bar, lots of activities and play areas for the kids, and the pools are nice."

Local cultural exploration: The New Iberia area serves as an excellent base for exploring Cajun culture, cuisine, and history. Doug C. at Parkside RV Park shares, "We visited the Tabasco factory on Avery island, took a swamp boat ride in Breaux Bridge, the Acadian and African American History Museums in St. Martinville, and Lafayette, all within a 30 minute drive of the campground."

What campers like

Clean, modern facilities: Newer RV parks in the area often feature updated amenities and well-maintained grounds. Erika P. says Parkside RV Park "is a new build and opened in 2021. You can tell it was built to overcome the obstacles you find at older RV Parks. The spaces are all level, paved, and long and wide enough to fit your RV and two vehicles."

Swimming options: Multiple parks offer pools or water features that guests appreciate during hot Louisiana days. At Bayou Wilderness RV Resort, Mark J. notes they have a "nice pool with water slides," while JIll mentions the park is "clean and quiet with a nice sitting area by water."

Security features: Many campers appreciate the safety measures in place at various RV parks. Erika P. notes that Parkside RV Park has "security camera, streetlights and two washers and dryers for guests to use for free," while the nearby St. Julien Park offers "bathrooms, free WIFI, drinking fountains, walking trails, dog waste stations, disc golf, catch and release ponds, security camera."

What you should know

Reservation needs: Due to popular events and seasonal patterns, some parks can fill quickly. At Frog City RV Park, Jack B. mentions, "The first thing you encounter is the super friendly and helpful staff. The campground is level well maintained and a perfect spot to stop when traveling on I-10 in Louisiana." Tonya B. adds, "Lanes are labeled clearly, so our spot was super easy to find after hrs."

Laundry availability: Laundry facilities vary significantly between parks in the region. Norrie W. notes that Frog City RV Park has "6 washers ($2.00) and 6 working dryers ($2.50)," while another camper commented about Parkside RV Park, "The RV Park has free WIFI, dog waste stations, security camera, streetlights and two washers and dryers for guests to use for free."

Hookup configurations: RV site hookups vary across parks, with some having specific placement requirements. According to Kim O., Parkside RV Park has "very quiet, maintained, area. Close to Walmart and some fast food restaurants. There's little shade. But lots of room. Every spot is marked with a number and it's big enough for any rig."

Tips for camping with families

Playground accessibility: Several parks offer play areas specifically designed for children. Mark J. notes that Bayou Wilderness RV Resort has "Tennis Court, playground for kids, ponds with fishing," while at Frog City RV Park, andrew reports there is "a playground next to the pool."

Activity planning: Many parks organize activities for families, especially during peak seasons. Cat R. describes Camp Margaritaville RV Resort Breaux Bridge as "one of the busiest RV campgrounds in South Louisiana," adding, "There's a pool with a bar, game room, playground and lake. Small store on site, as well as laundry facilities."

Safety considerations: Some parks have strict safety rules, particularly regarding children. At Acadian Oasis RV Park, Dan M. shares they "stayed for one week and had a great experience! The owners have done a great job of creating a super atmosphere and safe place to stay... Conveniently located near the sports complex for weekend tournaments. Very family oriented!!"

Tips from RVers

Site leveling: Many parks in the area feature level sites requiring minimal adjustments. David M. notes about Camp Margaritaville RV Resort Breaux Bridge, "Concrete pads were very nice and I didn't hardly have to do much to level my camper." Similarly, Norrie W. described Frog City RV Park as having "So clean, wide spaces and very level."

Off-peak advantages: Visiting during weekdays or off-season periods can provide a quieter experience at many parks. Cat R. reports, "Be sure that you have reservations well in advance," while Rod A. appreciated that Parkside RV Park staff "called me the night before to see when I was arriving, thoughtful. Wanted to be sure I had all the information and codes if I arrived after hours."

Sewer connection planning: Some parks have specific sewer hookup configurations requiring preparation. Erika P. advises about Parkside RV Park, "You'll need a long sewer hose; the sewer hook ups are at the very back of the site." This differs from other parks in the area where hookups may be placed closer to the center of sites.
