Best RV Parks & Resorts near Morganfield, KY

CAMPER SUMMARY PRESENTED BYFord

Several RV parks surround Morganfield, Kentucky with options for both short-term and extended stays. Livermore RV Park provides electric hookups on drive-in sites, while Birdsville Riverside RV Park features 34 full hookup sites with 50-amp service, water connections, and sewer hookups. Indian Point RV Park operates seasonally from April through November with 30-amp service and water hookups. Venture River RV Park accommodates big rigs with electric hookups, water, sewer, and dump station access. Many parks offer pull-through RV pads, though site spacing varies considerably between locations. "All pads are drive through and very level. They don't have much going on in winter but summertime is great," noted one camper about Burdette Park.

Seasonal availability affects most RV parks in the region, with several operating only from spring through fall. Within 30 miles, dump stations are available at select locations including Rocky Falls Campground, Venture River RV Park, and Indian Point RV Park. Cell phone coverage can be inconsistent across the area, particularly at more remote locations. Based on reviews from The Dyrt, some parks like Burdette have tight spacing with campers noting that "sites are in these very tight spaces with narrow roads," while others like Birdsville Riverside offer more room between sites. Most parks welcome pets, though many have restrictions on fires and alcohol. Propane services are limited, so RVers should plan to arrive with adequate supplies.

    Eddy Creek Marina Resort

    A Resort RV park

Eddy creek RV park is very well kept, clean, and somewhat secluded on Lake Barkley. Only open from April through Oct, the RV camp area is behind a code locked gate, which helps to keep the park private. There is a dump station, laundry facility, bath house , propane available and Echo Charlie's restaurant that serves typical American food that includes large servings!  I didn't see any tent sites, only RV sites, most with newer looking decks, level sites, electric and water hookup to each site.  The beach is private, the pool is private, everything is within walking distance, but most people were using golf carts, as it is a good distance from the RV area to the restaurant or the pool.  Bicycling would also be ideal, most areas are paved or at least compacted gravel.

    Indian Point RV Park

    Overnight only

The campground sits on three level overlooking Lake Barkly. There are only 5 pull-thru sites with full hookups on wide open ground, no shade. There are 16 water and electric sites. The 150+ sites are long term rental properties. There is a swimming pool, play ground, boat ramp, and game room. Dump site at entrance. More a retirement community than a RV camp.

    Windy Hollow Camp and Recreation

    Price Gouging

I have a class A 50 amp RV and got put in a 30 amp pull thru with no sewer hookup and no wifi or cable and duck and goose poo everywhere .  The lady I assume was the owner is extremely rude and charges 60$ a day for.  The bathroom facilities are filthy and whatever you do don't buy any of the smelly outdated crap in the office store that reeks of musty mold.  Worst 4 days ever.

    Burdette Park

    Nice little sute

Burdette Park is on the west side of Evansville. Really nice park! Currently we are full timing there. They have maybe 24 full huck up spots and about 10 or so w/o sewer. 30/50 amp electric on all. All pads are drive through and very level. They don't have much going on in winter but summertime is great. Pool, trails, BMX racing on Friday nights and tons of shelters for your get-togethers! Wonderful camp managers!

Tween the Lakes RV Park & Campground

    No frills campground

This is a no frills campground just off of I-69/I-24. Check in was completed online and our site was marked with our name. All sites are full hook up with concrete pads. The county has a trail system that begin just a few hundred feet down the road that is a nice stretch of the legs. The skeleton on the motorcycle welcoming you was interesting, maybe we were really early or really late for Halloween. The campground is in need of some TLC of the grounds. There also seems to be a lot of long term residents.

    Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park

You won’t be level, if you can even get into your site.

This place was laid out and built by someone who hates RVs. Seriously steep compound slopes, tight 90 degree turns, and hookups 100’ away on the wrong side of the site all make this place horrible for anything but a pop up. I saw at least four people worth reservations leave because they couldn’t get into their site. The bath house has one working shower and it wasn’t very clean. The dump station was 15’ from a site so I totally ruined someone’s peaceful breakfast. The hiking trail was a dead end on an unidentifiable paved road. The beach and boat access are gated until 10am. No early morning paddling for me.

    Now the good stuff:

    1. Not ALL the flies bite.
    2. The shade was pretty good.
    3. The park was quiet.
    4. The horse camping sites looked pretty good, pretty level, and they had full hookups.

    Pennyrile Forest State Resort Park

    Very Nice Campground

We like this campground for its beauty and it’s size. Pros: Swimming beach very nice Quiet campground Clean facilities Nice size lake with canoe, paddle board rentals Great kid environment Easy access from Interstate Paved sites

Cons: Sites are very sloped. Worst I’ve ever seen. Major drawback to this campground. Beach is free to public so very crowded and some elements are not family friendly. Prices are higher than most campgrounds. Camp site sizes are small and difficult to navigate.

Summary: I’m really surprised that all sites were paved with such bad slopes. If the state would come back in and level the sites then pave this would be a jewel. Also, charge a fee for beach access to control the rowdy’s from taking over the beach.

Overall a beautiful park that is one of my wife’s favorites.

    Timber Ridge Outpost & Cabins

    Not bad

Paid $35 per night for 2 nights after our Passport America discount. Not sure it would have been worth the full price. Full hookups. 50amp, water (55psi), and sewer. Cell coverage for AT&T and Verizon were both adequate to stream and work. The check-in process was a bit slow. We kinda expected that since it took us a dozen calls just to get someone to pick up the phone to make a reservation. We were first in line at check-in and spent at least 10 minutes going over all sorts of rules and information. Luckily we showed up at 3:05pm because they charge $25 for "early check-in" any time before 3pm. We're full-time RVers and have stayed at nearly 140 campgrounds and that's the first time we've seen something before 3pm called "early" and that's a pretty steep price for check-in. Our entire section of the campground was empty. Our neighbors actually showed up at 2pm and opted to wait an hour in the parking lot to go to their un-occupied site rather than paying $25. But besides the check-in, the campground was beautiful. Plenty of tree cover. The roads are paved and easy to navigate. Many of the amenities are closed for covid but there were still people riding around on their bikes. Definitely a bike-centric park with trails and bike paths around. It's not located next door to Traverse City but it's not far to get to most things. We camped at Timber Ridge Campground & Recreation Resort in a Fifth Wheel.

Guide to Morganfield

RV sites near Morganfield, Kentucky offer diverse camping experiences along the Ohio River and nearby lakes. Western Kentucky's terrain features rolling hills with elevations ranging between 350-500 feet above sea level. Summer temperatures regularly exceed 90°F with high humidity, making water access particularly valuable for campers visiting between June and September.

What to do

River watching: Sites at Birdsville Riverside RV Park provide front-row views of Ohio River traffic. "We enjoyed a quiet and relaxing stay at this wonderful park. Watching the barges go up and down the river along with an occasional recreational boat or 2," notes one reviewer.

Water recreation: The area's campgrounds provide access to multiple lakes and rivers. "We would stay here again and bring the cousins to play at the water park," mentions a visitor to Venture River RV park.

Fishing opportunities: Several campgrounds offer fishing access, with many sites positioned near boat ramps. "There is a small dock on the property if you are interested in boating or fishing," reports a camper at Birdsville Riverside.

Local food exploration: Some campgrounds are near noteworthy local eateries. "Nearby food: The Daily Bread is exceptional for breakfasts, desserts, pizza and sandwiches," reports a camper at Outback RV Resort.

What campers like

Spacious sites: Unlike the tightly packed parks mentioned in the existing description, some offer roomier accommodations. "All the spots are spaced out too," notes a reviewer about Birdsville Resort and Campground.

Riverside positioning: Direct water access ranks highly among camper preferences. "Our campsite was right on the river bank," reports one Birdsville visitor, while another adds, "All open sites waterfront, 30 or 50 amp, sewer and water hookups. Right on the Ohio river!"

Quiet environment: Many campers value the peaceful settings. "Very great stay. Nice well kept rv park. All the spots are full hook up and are right next to the river for a great view. It's very quiet and peaceful," says a Birdsville reviewer.

Organized activities: Some campgrounds offer scheduled events. At Outback RV Resort, visitors appreciate the "fun campground wide activities" and note that "summertime is great."

What you should know

Seasonal limitations: Many campgrounds close during winter months. Outback RV Resort "closes for a few months in Fall," while Birdsville operates "March 1 to November 30."

Site configurations: Understanding hookup arrangements helps with planning. At Birdsville, "the electric poles and water are shared between each site...which means the odd number sites are back in, even numbers are pull in."

Cell service variability: Connectivity differs between locations. At Fiedlerland RV Park, campers note full hookups are available but don't mention cellular capabilities, while other parks report adequate service for basic tasks.

Facility conditions: Quality varies significantly between parks. One Rocky Falls visitor reports, "Bathrooms were very dirty and sketchy," contrasting with Outback RV Resort where campers praise "very, very well maintained facilities" and "clean bath house."

Tips for camping with families

Water attractions: Burdette Park features extensive water facilities. "A pool, mini golf, hiking cabins and so much more," says one visitor, with another noting its "HUGE swimming pool/water park with slides."

Playground access: Several campgrounds offer children's play areas. One Outback RV Resort visitor mentions "play equipment for kids and a pool," providing entertainment options beyond campsites.

Activity planning: Some parks offer structured recreation. "They have everything to keep your family entertained," notes a Burdette Park camper, while another mentions "BMX racing on Friday nights."

Space considerations: Family camping requires adequate room. "Nice shaded lot on the Ohio river," reports a Birdsville visitor, contrasting with Burdette where some find "sites are in these very tight spaces with narrow roads."

Tips from RVers

Site leveling: Level sites reduce setup time. At Burdette Park, "All pads are drive through and very level," reports one RVer.

Hookup accessibility: Understanding hookup arrangements prevents problems. As one Birdsville camper notes, "you have your own plug but it's in the middle of the two sites," affecting which direction RVs must face.

Arrival timing: Check-in policies vary considerably. Some parks require strict timing adherence, while others are more flexible - Outback RV Resort staff "penciled us in for a site the next night, accommodating us with short notice both nights with no fuss."

Extended stays: Several parks accommodate longer-term RVers. Fiedlerland offers "FHU & water & electric sites" with an RVer noting the owner is "sweet and helpful," while Livermore RV Park has a camper reporting "the monthly is amazingly low."
