Raccoon Ridge Campground — Brown County State Park

      Clean toilets, uneven sites

This campground was fine. Very clean pit toilets, but some of the sites were pretty sloped and close together. 154 was the best spot I scoped. 133 was very uneven and no privacy

      Turkey Run State Park Campground

      Beautiful park, loved it

Great little campground, decently spaced spots and lots of thoughtful people in a great area. Would def come back if I go through Indiana again. The lady who works in the shack quickly changed my site to one that fits my rv after pulling in and seeing it was way too small. Thanks again ma’am!

Sugar Creek Campground and Canoe Rental LLC

It was good for a while

Had a great annual relationship with this campground. When we first started going they did not have their canoes and kayaks service. We had our our own so no big deal. They let us put in and take out. Then they started their livery service. They were hesitant about letting us use they put in and take out spot but since we would help with some of the chores around the campground we built a good relationship with the owners. They once said "you are the only ones we allow to do this" thought that we were sort of grandfathered in at that point. 20 years later....they must have forgotten their words and we were told since we took out our canoes at there site we were not allowed to come back ever again. You word goes a long way in my book and it evidently got forgotten or they just got mean.

      Mounds State Park Campground

      Clean, we'll spaced

Three campground is clean and well maintained. Many well spaced sites, with some pull through for $2 more. It is next to a small airport, so you will hear planes and helicopters.

      White River Campground

      Beautiful and Relaxing!

We traveled from Tennessee for a concert in Indianapolis (about a 40-minute drive) and absolutely loved this campground! The sites are paved, level, and offer plenty of yard space, with many located right along the river.

It’s right at the entrance to a scenic walking trail, and they even offer electric bike rentals to explore the area. The campground store is one of the nicest we’ve seen, and the bathrooms are clean and well maintained. There’s also a new, modern playground.

Wi-Fi is available, and we had solid cell service with 3 bars on US Cellular and T-Mobile. If we lived closer, we’d definitely be back!

Winter season is over middle of April, and we were here April 3rd. Water was turned off at the sites, but they had a spot to fill up your holding tank.

      Full hook-ups!

      White River Campground

      Good amenities

Loved our 2 night stay, the camp store was great. Glad they had extra firewood. Cicero the town close by is a cute one with a nice water scene. Only 2 other tents set up in the whole campground. Most of the rv/camper spots were taken though.

Beautiful, peaceful campsites with a lot of shade!" advises Sharon T. at Cecil M Harden Lake Raccoon State Recreation Area.

Site selection strategy: Site topography varies considerably within campgrounds. At Shades State Park Campground, "Great sites that offer decent privacy with brush & trees as a barrier between sites. Tips for Camping with Families

Playground access: Multiple campgrounds feature play areas for children. At Indianapolis KOA, "The balance between kid fun and peaceful nature is actually on point here. Tips from RVers

Leveling challenges: Some sites require equipment to achieve level placement. "The site was clean and well equipped with fire ring and picnic table. The site is very uneven. It definitely sloops to the back corner. It's was difficult to level our camper but we got it in the end," notes Michelle M. about her experience at Turkey Run State Park.

Urban proximity options: Several campgrounds offer convenient access to Indianapolis. "This campground is minutes away from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. For an urban campground, it is better than others. The grounds are clean and the sites aren't too tight," explains Scott P. about Lake Haven Retreat.

Electric service reliability: Power connections are generally stable and suitable for high-demand appliances. "We had 50amp service and measured 119vac with both a/c units running," Todd L. reports from Lake Haven Retreat, providing specific voltage information helpful for RVers with power-hungry equipment.
