The water is honestly my favorite part about this spot! You’re not camping right on it as there are some bushes and an incline, but every spot has a tiny little 1 minute walk down to the water which is awesome.
ScoutThis spot is a great little spot for dispersed camping. We got in after sunset and was a little weirded out by the nailed leg and hoof to the tree, but stayed only because we were tired and didn't want to try to find something different.

GuideThe Gilmore campground was clean and well-managed and we found the camp hosts super friendly and helpful. The campground has vault toilets and a few flush toilets as well as private showers with hot water. Campsites were well spaced from one another. The campground has a big green for frisbee, horseshoes, etc.
Farragut State Park has abundant hiking, water activities and interesting interpretive exhibits. And Lake Pend Oreille is simply breathtaking.
We had limited Verizon connectivity — 2 bars at most.
The village of Bayview, a few minutes’ drive or vigorous bike ride away, has a well-stocked little mercantile that carries all the necessities.
As out-of-staters, we didn’t mind paying twice the in-state rate for our site. Our state income taxes support our own state’s parks — not Idaho’s.
ScoutClean campground our site worked great for our Sprinter van. Site is crowded for larger pull through but it appeared to work for the campers. Site had outdoor kitchens and several showers. Would stay again if in area. If you purchase wood they deliver to your site
ScoutI stayed here 3 nights., early June. All the spaces have wide back in or pull through driveways, beautiful one, fir forest. Sites are mostly shaded, but not always. i.e. check spot for solar power. Very well kept, clean vault toilets. No hookups. Nearest dump station at Shoshone camp, downstream a ways. It's a NF station, $8 fee, credit cards accepted, also neat and clean. Only one pump it yourself drinking water spigot at the campground. Great fishing steps away, but catch the catch and release west slope cutthroat aren't so easy to catch as a recent article in American Fly Fishing magazine suggests-unless you are a professional fly fishing expert and writer, maybe. Go on a weekday.
GuideThis is a RV resort, they have everything you may need. Full hookups, big and hot showers, a store, laundry. We had been boon docking for a little over a week so it was nice to have a bit of luxury for a couple nights. The best part, right on the water. We took our paddle boards out and it was great!
