Best Campgrounds near Loganville, GA

We went drove around this campground as we were planning to have a stay here and live local. So glad we did because it was not well maintained. I understand bathrooms/bath houses aren’t going to be the most luxury thing when camping, however these were pretty bad. The smell was so bad that my clothes stunk after if that says anything. If you have an RV there were definitely some good sites and I think it would be a decent experience, but I wouldn’t recommend to tent campers. (We looked at site 24/25 as that’s where we were going to stay and definitely is a great spot if you plan to go)

I recently got back into camping and, now engaged, decided to go with my fiancée. After spending two nights and three days at Stone Mountain Park, I can confidently say it's one of the best places for first-time campers. We chose the Primitive Tent option and appreciated the spaciousness of each site. Originally booked for spot 188, we noticed 200 was open and seamlessly switched for $14.45—highly recommended for its stunning view. However, it offers less space, with campsites closer together, and we couldn't fully secure one of our tent stakes (So if you go for the best view get ready to make a few sacrifices). Conveniently, all campsites are near the bathroom and showers, making accessibility easy.

My fiancé and I went tent camping here this past weekend. The bathrooms were walkable and clean! The lady’s bathroom had some cute hanging plants as well as a heater since it’s cold out.

The area we were had a great view of the mountain. Even with other campers the place felt peaceful.

We were by the lake, which was incredibly nice. Due to the time of year there were many geese, which was quite fun. But they sure were noisy that first night!

Overall it was very nice for us to unwind and enjoy our time together.

The park offers many more activities than we participated in! The employees were very friendly and kind!

Started off good. Nice neighbors and campground inspector. The inspector accused my dog of going to the bathroom in my yard. There was another dog in my yard that day not on a leash that could have done it. I was hit with a threatening email. Then my water tank started overflowing. At a small rate. I tried to fix but was unable to, so I called a repair guy. Again, hit with another threatening email. It was repaired the very next day. While this was going on my sink outside supply line froze. When I was checking it, I didn't turn the valve all of the way off. Apparently, the inspector walked very close to my camper and heard the water dripping. Hit with a $100 fine.

We are at spot 97 and was suppose to get 44. The host at the front office gave us a different spot that would be easier access to our 40ft 5th wheel. The view is fantastic. We brought 2 dogs which they enjoyed the scenery. They are firm on making sure pet owners have their leash on and do not free roam. A lot of deer just walking around. Bathrooms are in good shape. We plan on staying a week. No Wi-Fi so we are using hotspots on our cells. We have Verizon and showing 2 bar LTE.

This was our 2nd time at this campsite. We didn’t get the site we wanted but were only 2 away. It was a little longer walk to the water and when a camper was next to us we couldn’t see the lake. We already have our reservations for 2025 in the site we wanted. I can’t wait to get back to Georgia!!

This was the 1st campground we stayed at when we brought our RV all the way from California. It's beautiful, but the site we usually get has a long slope down to the water. We usually stay in Site 70 and have for 3 years. Unfortunately, I couldn't get this site for 2025. We will be in 21 for a week instead. I'll still be happy with anywhere we stay on Lake Lanier!

We were in this campground for 2 weeks. It was beautiful and had the best view of most of the campgrounds on the lake. I loved waking up to seeing the lake and the water every morning. I only gave this campground a 4 because of the turn arounds. After parking our 40ft 5th wheel, we realized where we needed to turn around was going to be tight. We practiced and discussed the best way to get out. When the time came we had a heck of a time getting the RV turned. It was so tight that the 5th wheel was only 1 inch from hitting the cab and the axels on the RV were in a bind (the tires looked twisted). I would stay here again, with a much smaller RV. Until then, we will be avoiding this campground.

It was nice and warm even in December! Almost 70 degrees! Spot with a nice horse trail to hike - saw some deer and a mystery black animal, maybe a boar or a bear - unsure. Had a lot of neighbors on a weekday night - and a mystery trailer with no activity and no truck to pull it. Overall pretty easy gravel road to get to it, was a little buggy since it was humid and by the river but not too bad.

Easy access to the lake for paddleboarding; lot was close enough to paddle 1/2 mile to day use area/marina restaurant. Nicely shaded and good proximity to restrooms.

Easy access to Lake Alatoona with good views, minimal shade and access area was swampy on my lot but manageable. Water surprisingly chilly in summer from the Etowah River.

The campsite's proximity to I-20 makes it super convenient to get to. It's a great spot for a quick trip or a longer stay, and the friendly seasonal campers really add to the community vibe. By the way, I just bought a camper with the help of radiant credit union customer service. Their customer service was so helpful in sorting out the financial side of things, which means I can now enjoy camping trips to places like Atlanta West Campground hassle-free!

Hosts were amazing and accommodating. We stayed for 2 nights for a soccer tournament and it was the perfect location. Not on the listing was an outdoor shower and my sweaty soccer son loved it. The ceiling fan and air conditioning unit do a great job of cooling in this GA heat. There was a small desk where I was able to do some work. Will definitely book again.

While the camp hosts were very nice and the bathrooms were clean, that’s where the good ends. The sites are on top of each other in the inner loop and very much out of level. There is no place to dump trash in the campground. The only places were at the boat ramp and beach. Worst of all was the dump station was overflowing and could not be used when we were leaving.

We stayed at site 125 with a full view of the lake. We could watch the sunset & the sunrise each day and it was incredible. There is plenty of tree cover & wilderness surrounding you. Bath houses were decent (albeit a little outdated). Our spot had a pretty bad ant infestation & they ended up getting into our trailer, which I had to scour with spray, etc. But what can you do? Just bring some supplies in case. What we really liked about this campground is how natural the surroundings are. You're really immersed in the wooded area with a view of the beautiful lake & the sounds of birdsong, etc. Good campground for bikes as things are spread out (swimming beach, bathhouses). We would certainly come back!

Nice campsites with water and electricity. Almost all the sites have view of lake and many have access to the lake for swimming or paddle boarding or boating. Nice breeze off the lake. Will be back many times.

I enjoyed my stay here during the day, but things changed after dark. There were old weedeaters scattered in the weeds, along with grills and other items that seemed to have been tossed into the woods. I initially brushed it off and didn't think much of it. I was the only one camping at this site. As night fell, I began preparing for bed, but I noticed vehicles coming and going—at least three within an hour. Around 10 PM, a few Mustangs pulled up and sat for about 45 minutes. Feeling uneasy about the situation, I decided to pack up and leave. After sharing my experience with a few friends, many of them expressed their own concerns about this location. I give it 3 stars for the beauty and peacefulness... until nightfall.

We stayed in site 7 and we really enjoyed it. The site was clean and the pad was very level.

We had a minor issue popping the 30amp breaker but switched over to the 50 amp adapter and all worked fine.

Didn’t use the bath house but I did go check them out and they looked clean.

I would caution big rigs on the first loop (sites 2 - 9) the loop at the back is pretty tight. We did fine with our 28’ TT but anyone over 30’ might want to consider the other loops.

Driving through and looking at the other sites some of the picnic areas need to be reworked or at the very least mowed and weeded. If it wasn’t for that sort of stuff I would give it 5 stars.
