We have sites that are open from April to October (closed November to March) for RVs and tent campers. We are limited to the length of RV’s and we do not have any pull through sites, they are all back ins. All sites have full hook-ups including both 30 and 50 amp service, sewer and water and free wifi. Hot showers and bathrooms are available in our Bath House. Several picnic tables and BBQs are located throughout the park for your use.

Stonewall Lodge is a great place

We were so fortunate to find Stonewall Lodge and rv Resort. Full hook ups, if that’s what you would like. Very friendly and relaxed atmosphere. Beautiful nature drives. We can’t say enough kind words about this lodge and campground.

    RV Tent no frills

Older privately owed and operated by good people. Most of the people here are long term. There's a few RV spots for temps and overnighters and a sewer dump for fee. There's a kids park, laundry and bathrooms and one tent spot.

    GEARS is great !

Such nice folks! The cafe is being remodeled and I will certainly stop when I come through. Mix of back in and pull through. Clean with a few long term folks who are friendly. 30-50 amp and full hookup that’s affordable. Near highway but I didn’t hear it.

    Best RV park in town

By far the best RV park in town. Clean drinkable water. Clean shower and bathroom available to these who choose to not use their own. Lots of shade. Wildlife walk through the park often. Police patrol the area often. Owner lives on site and is very helpful when needed.

Best RV Park in Red River

This is the best rv park in Red River. The river runs right through the park. There is a trout pond, playground, pavilion with live music on most Fridays during the summer and they also have condos and cabins. The staff is so helpful and friendly. If you want to get out of the heat of the summer this is the place to be. Red River is 8,750’ above sea level in the mountains. Daytime temp is in the 70°s and nights are in the 50°s all summer long.

    Nice campgroup

A little close together and close to the highway. Expect some traffic noise throughout the night. Large park with fishing, hiking and more. Picnic tables (some with shelters), fire rings and vault toilets available thoughout the tent camping site, rv hookups and playground also available.

    Eehhhhhh…

[Internet. Didn’t need it so I didn’t test it.]

Dump station? - no but sites were full hookups Water fill? - no but sites were full hookups Clean site? - 🤷🏼‍♀️ Clean bathroom? - no. But with flip flops the hot showers and warm bathrooms served their purpose in the bitter cold winter. Just don’t expect a working lock on either of the Women’s shower doors. Flush toilet? - yes Showers? - yes, hot

Why did we stay? We visited Great Sand Dunes NP and had planned to stay at the dry campground called Zapata Campground. We had been having issues with our diesel heater and needed electricity to plug in our electric 120 heater. This RV park had all the creature comforts and a gas station. Buuuuutttt it was sketchy.

Nice little place in cool city

This park has 21 full hook up RV sites, more of a parking lot area with full hook ups. Not much to look at really, but the people are nice, and Trinidad is a great little city. The Park and motel are 420 friendly for those interested. We have stayed at the motel, and it was a nice little room, nothing fancy. Would definitely stay here again.

    Nice spot to stay!

We needed a spot to stay and found a happy location at Hikers Cimarron Inn & RV Park. Their reservation system on their website was easy to use and navigate. The RV spots are level gravel, sites are close together with minimal privacy but convenient to grocery store and restaurants - within a short walk. Owners were friendly and helpful. Bathrooms had showers and were clean but spartan and totally functional.

    Lovely view of mountains!

Very large rv park with full hookups, showers, laundry, and community building. Was not busy when we were here, so we did not have anyone next to us, but the sites are very close to each other. The lake and boat launch are just down the road. Set off the main highway enough that you don't hear alot of traffic noise. Staff were very nice and accommodating. Wonderful views of the mountains.

Lake Alice Campground — Sugarite Canyon State Park

    Secluded, beautiful sites

They are a first come first serve RV site, which luckily when we showed up there was only 1 other RV parked. We picked a secluded back corner spot which was 1 of 2 full hookup sites (electric & water, no sewer). The dump station was unavailable due to a broken drain, and there were only porta-potty style bathrooms on the campground. The showers were down the road a bit, amd were your typical state park showers - hot water, no amenities which is totally fine. There are bear boxes on each site which was good to have in that area! We hiked the old coal mining camp on the side of the canyon and the woods behind our site which was a lot of fun!

    Not bad for Trinidad 🤷🏻‍♂️

Not much to this RV park, large parking lot behind the Tower 64 motel serves as an RV campground.

Full hookups but be aware that the sites are stacked right on top of each other. We could barely fit our 24 ft rig in our spot. However it’s convenient to get to off the highway. Other options in the area are pretty much the same. Wouldn’t want to stay here more than one evening.

If you’re looking for something more remote checkout Trinidad Lake State Park. A little further of a drive but if you plan on staying longer than 1 night it’s prob the best option in this area.

Don't waste your time. Lied about access

Called ahead to ask about availability. Person said they don't take reservations but they had room. Pulled in. No signs directing one. Guy walks up and said I'm blocking entrance. I asked about where to park. He asked how long my stay would be. I said one night. He said they only accept long term. Slum looking location. We went to a local truck stop and spent the night.

    Keep going

We had just spent two nights along the highway due to RV needing repairs. We picked the first RV Park we could find. Fortunately, they could accommodate us, but it was a less than desirable place. First, it was extremely tight access; we had to ask a neighbor to move his truck. It was a full hookup, but the tap was broke so we had to tap into the neighbor’s waterline with a splitter. You can’t choose your neighbors but many in the park gave us concerns for our safety. We had to park our truck at the end of the park due to the limited space... wish more RVers would have been as considerate. We didn’t use any of the facilities so can’t comment on cleanliness. There is a large open trench by the trash cans, so watch out if you have children.

South Shore Campground — Trinidad Lake State Park

    Small and busy campground.

The amenities listed above can be misleading. There are 62 sites in Carpios Ridge and 7, yes..7 are full hook-ups!! I don't recall how clear that is on their reservation site. But, I thought I had reserved full hookup site until I got here and discovered not so much. Most sites are electric hookup only. And, this is the first State Park I have been to with coin operated showers. Cost 1.75 for 7 minutes. Also, take note, while there is fishing and boating. There is no swimming (Again, I should have looked closer and paid more attention). Of note to some, you may want to be aware they only allow 3.2 beer. And, at this writing their is a burn ban in effect. No wood or charcoal fires and no smoking outside your vehicle. Also, no 420 "public consumption"...whatever that might be.😊 However, the views from the overlook are wonderful. I would not recommend this gc if you are looking for seclusion and quietness. Camp setup is what I call "condo camping" neighbors are pretty much right next to each other.

We stopped here for an overnight stay. Pull thru & back in with full hook ups with 30/50 amp sites. Bathhouse with showers & laundry room as well. Gates close at dark so if you are arriving after dark you will not be able to get in. Back in sites look over the freeway but you can also see pretty scenery farther off. Sites are close together.

    Nice Getaway!

Nice campground amongst pinons and juniper trees. Not your typical rows of spaces. Sites are spread out along several wandering loops.

Different size spaces and tent sites! No walk ups, must reserve online.

WalMart just south of Trinidad CO; which is full of interesting history.

    Fire pits and firewood available.

Full hook ups at $41 and nine dollar park fee daily.

Lots of shore birds at the lake. Lake wasn’t visible from our site but nearby.

    Cool little place

Would give five stars, but right on the main road through the San Luis Valley so it's a little loud, and bright at night. That said, it's still peaceful, and the people are nice. Has shower and laundry for guests, and full hookups for RVs. It's $30 per night or $199 a week, we stayed two days, and would stay again. They allow pets, but have a strict "no pit bulls" dog policy. So unless your "pit bull" is a service dog, they can't stay. Unfortunately dog breeds and temperaments are still misunderstood, but that aside, good people, and nice little place to stay.

    Huge spaces!

This is an amazing RV Park! The spaces are huge! We are on an end and I think ours is about a quarter acre in size! Really! There are lots of trees around and natural grass growing. There aren’t any shooting competitions going on at the time, so we don’t hear much shooting. There are only about 8 RVs in this 49 space RV area, but I imagine when they have an event going on, the RV Park is much fuller and you would probably hear more gun fire. The views are beautiful!

There is a free museum and a small laundry - 2 washers, 2 dryers.

We are strong believers in our Second Amendment and appreciate the NRA providing this center to teach people the proper handling and use of guns.

    Great Views and quiet

Great spot that is quiet and has great view of lake and Mountains all around. Cool at night and just right during day. All the RV parks around here that have good reviews are way too close together. I am glad I didn’t go by the reviews as the trailers are almost touching. There is no water or electricity on site but water is available in the park. First time dry camping and it was great with no problems. Close to Red River and Angel Fire and Taos.

    Nice quiet place to stay.

Stayed here for a weekend, this place is tucked away and quiet. Spots are well spaced and grass all around. The river runs through the park.

They have the park devided up well with space for even the bigger rv's they have a nice fenced dog park to let your dogs run free for a bit. Full hook ups shade trees and a fare amount of spots that back right up to the river, wifi throughout the park that is spotty at best and after one week they do charge for it Verizon was 4G the whole time.

Staff is super friendly and helpful, they have wood to purchase for fires but it is not covered and feels fresh cut so its not dried you will more than likely smoke out the camp site it's also 10.00 for a bundle which is pricey, but they deliver it to your camp. The gate coming into the park is tight so when the gentleman says make a lazy turn he means a REAL lazy turn. Would definatly come back here again

    GPS fail and stinky

GPS won’t get you here because 2nd Street is bisected by a creek with no bridge. I had to back my trailer a couple of blocks. Their website does contain a warning about the GPS problem, so pay attention.

I went for the Premium River site (creek). Directly across the creek is a horse enclosure - IOW stinky. The horse enclosure is about 50 feet from the back of my trailer. I’m in site 9. There are also dogs without leashes that cross the creek and come into the RV Park.

There are plenty of trees here but I can’t sit outside at my trailer. Luckily I’m traveling with friends and their spots aren’t as odorous.

This park has great reviews on RVParky, but I’m just not in a good spot.
