Best RV Parks & Resorts near Pomona, CA

Several RV parks near Pomona provide full hookup options for motorhomes and travel trailers. Fairplex RV Park in Pomona offers full hookups with 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections on paved sites. Bonelli Bluffs in San Dimas features spacious RV sites with 50-amp service, cable TV, and both back-in and pull-through options. "Very spacious and good for big rigs. LOTS of activities for families," noted one camper about Rancho Jurupa RV Park, which provides water and electric hookups with a dump station near the entrance. Anaheim Harbor RV Park, though more urban, accommodates large rigs with full hookup sites but requires careful attention to site dimensions as they charge separately for tow vehicles that don't fit on the assigned space.

Advance reservations are strongly recommended for all RV parks in the region, particularly during weekends and holiday periods. Most parks remain open year-round with Orangeland RV Park and Rancho Jurupa offering consistent availability regardless of season. Site measurements vary significantly between parks, with standard sites typically accommodating units up to 35 feet while deluxe or premium sites handle larger motorhomes up to 45 feet. Pet policies generally allow dogs with leash requirements and designated pet areas, though some parks charge additional pet fees. Dump stations are available at most locations, but their accessibility varies—Rancho Jurupa's station requires tokens purchased from the camp store, while others offer free access with registration. Cell service is reliable throughout the area, with most parks also providing WiFi, though connection quality diminishes during peak usage hours.

Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

    Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

    Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

    Waterfront RV Park

    Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

    Mountain Lakes Resort

    Great family friendly place

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

    Ronald W. Caspers Wilderness Park

One of the Best County Parks you will find

This is a great park in Southern Orange County. I have tent camped here for years with my kids in the Live Oak campground and never had a bad experience. There are hiking trails everywhere with lots of wildlife to watch. I switched to a travel trailer several years ago and now use Ortega Flats campground. The sites are big and well spaced, with 30 amp electric. The water is off for the time being. The dump station is very close by and easy to access.

    Bonita Ranch Campground

    Just ok overall

Needed somewhere fairly close to home to take my new to us motorhome. Sites were decent size but fairly close together so don’t expect a lot of privacy. Sites interspersed among long term residents. Hookups water and electric at each site. Some shade, trails to riverbed currently mostly dry and Bonita falls about 25 minute walk over river rock. Fire rings available to rent for $5. The biggest issue I had was our electric went out to our loop at about 7:30pm…luckily we are self contained…it still had not been restored when we left the next day at noonish. The lights to the office area and restrooms was still on (thankfully) but not the camp sites.

Guide to Pomona

RV campgrounds in the Pomona area face seasonal temperature fluctuations with summer highs reaching 95-100°F while winter nights can drop to the low 40s. Water conservation restrictions affect campground policies throughout the region, with many parks implementing timed showers and limiting outdoor water usage during drought conditions. Cell reception varies dramatically between urban and foothill locations.

What to do

Hiking trails near campsites: The Bonita Falls trail is accessible directly from Bonita Ranch Campground, providing a relatively short hike to a waterfall. "The creek running behind the camp is great to explore, and a waterfall is a short hike away. We also lucked out finding berries in August," notes one camper.

Water activities for hot days: Canyon RV Park sits adjacent to a nature preserve with water access. A camper mentions, "You're nearby to all the stores you could ever need but you're also around a lot of wildlife. The bathrooms are clean and they even have fun events on many of the weekends."

Biking options: The Santa Ana River Trail connects to Orangeland RV Park, offering miles of paved pathway. "Along Santa Ana River Trail path that connects beach to San Bernardino Mts," writes one reviewer, noting the extensive connectivity for cyclists looking for longer rides.

What campers like

Security features: Most parks implement nighttime security measures. At Canyon RV Park, campers appreciate the safety: "I've been here for a few months and I love it here. It's not only in the middle of a nature preserve but you're also in the middle of a City."

Fruit picking opportunities: Orangeland RV Park offers a unique amenity. "Super friendly staff, super clean, 2 dog parks, offers really good wifi & cable. Can pick the oranges out of the tree," reports one visitor, highlighting this distinctive feature not found at other regional campgrounds.

Affordability compared to hotels: When calculating total costs for theme park visits, RV camping remains economical. "Location is great, right next to highway. It takes about 20 min to Huntington Beach," notes a camper about proximity to attractions while maintaining budget-friendly accommodations.

What you should know

Site dimensions matter: At Anaheim Harbor RV Park, understanding how sites are measured is critical. "Their site measurements are for your camping unit ONLY. If you have a tow vehicle or are towing a vehicle you must pay per night for a parking spot, whether it fits on the site or not," warns one camper.

Seasonal crowds affect availability: Summer weekends and holiday periods often reach capacity 2-3 months in advance at most parks. Winter weekdays provide the best availability and typically lower rates.

Noise considerations: Highway proximity affects several campgrounds. A Canyon RV Park visitor observed: "Campground is well-organized, with cabins, RV spots, a youth area, tent spots and a ropes course. The site is bordered by highways on both sides, and they create noise day and night."

Tips for camping with families

Water features for children: Newport Dunes RV Resort offers kid-friendly water activities. "We stay here every year. They have activities for the kids like arts and crafts, an inflatable obstacle course or you can rent paddle boards or watch a movie on the beach," shares one family.

Educational opportunities: Visit fire lookouts in nearby mountains. At Keller Peak Yellow Post Campsites, "The Keller Peak Lookout was amazing. I thought it was just a tourist attraction but it's really a staffed (with volunteers) active fire lookout. Worth the trip for sure."

Budget-friendly entertainment: Many campgrounds offer weekend activities included with your stay. "They have a movie on the beach when we were there, and fun water toys out," notes a Newport Dunes visitor about free on-site entertainment options.

Tips from RVers

Site selection strategies: At Bonelli Bluffs, experienced RVers recommend requesting specific areas. "Not every site has a fire pit. Definitely coming back again. I also liked the A & B area," advises one camper about navigating the varied site options.

Arrival timing: Mid-week arrivals between 1-3pm typically offer the smoothest check-in experience across most parks. Weekend arrivals often face longer waits and processing times.

Hookup reliability: During peak summer usage, electrical systems can be strained. "A little pricey but very nice facility. All hookups 30/50 amp. Cable TV. There's a pool," reports a Bonelli Bluffs camper, highlighting the reliable utilities even during high-demand periods.
