Summer temperatures frequently exceed 90°F, making parks with mature shade trees or those offering full hookups for air conditioning operation particularly desirable between June and September.

Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

      Bonelli Bluffs

      Hidden Gem

I loved this place, this hidden gem is located in the in the middle of the city, with the feel of the outdoor. Lots of trees, biking and hiking trails, fishing area, beautiful views, very peaceful, family friendly, pet friendly, the C9 RV spot was very spacious, I also liked the A & B area. Not every site has a fire pit. Definitely coming back again.

      Pechanga RV Resort

This Is A Resort With All Amenities

I spent a few nights using my Passport America discount at Pechanga RV Resort. I really liked it there. This is now one of my favorite RV resorts in California except for the showers. It is clean, well-maintained, concrete, level pads, full hookups, 168 site spaces, 20-30-50 amp power, 5 luxury spaces that The park itself is clean, well-maintained, concrete, level pads, full hookups, 168 site spaces, 20-30-50 amp power, 5 luxury spaces that is fenced in with gazebo, and picnic tables. First of all, it is part of the Casino with entertainment and restaurants. This casino reminds me of the Vegas casinos and now is under construction to make it a real Vegas Style Resort. It’s going to be finished sometimes in 2017.

The RV resort itself has a nice heated pool, Jacuzzi, ping pong table. They also have a golf club which could be important for some. One thing I hated is the showers. The RV resort shower has a timer set to 25 seconds and the showerhead is not able to stand upright. So you basically have to hold the shower in one hand and keep pressing the timer every 25 seconds. It’s December, it’s cold in the shower, especially because the water keeps shutting off. You end up standing soaking wet putting soap on yourself in the cold.

I wonder if the hotel rooms have timer on the showers as well. The person who came up with this idea should take showers in there each night. It pet-friendly resort, they also have an area for dogs. If you heading to the casino, they have a shuttle service 24/7 which picks ups from and drop-offs to and from your space. You have to call a number and they are there to pick you up in minutes.

About the WiFi! It’s the best WiFi ever in any parks I’ve so far visited! I wasn’t even close to the main building and had a great reception. I am able to use my Roku to watch Netflix and can use my laptop as well for work. I didn’t even need my Sprint or Verizon, but both work fine. Across the street, there is a 2-mile bike/walk trail. Using this and riding around the nice neighborhoods it was a fun way to get some exercise.

      Waterfront RV Park

      Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

      Jojoba Hills SKP Resort

A little Pricey, but a Gem!

You must be an Escapee member to stay here. Many long term residents who stay here seasonally or year round. It's a co-op, so members do a lot of the work around the place.

If you're not a long term resident, you can rent either a full hook-up site for $45 a night or $270/week. Dry camping sites are $15 night.

The people here are lovely. I attended a holiday play while I was there. There's a gym, a pool, several hot tubs and so many activities to participate in. Also great hiking trails right inside the co-op.

Temecula is just a short drive away with all the stores you would need. I had a nice two week stay. Recommended.

Mountain Lakes Resort - Membership Campground

      Great family friendly place

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

      Pineknot

Pineknot Campground, Big Bear Lake, Ca

A bit challenging to locate via Google Maps... Just go up (south) Summit Blvd, when you get to the parking lot of the ski resort, veer towards the left, and just past a concrete wall, you'll see the little Pineknot Campground sign attached to an aluminium pole. The campground is very cozy, countless tall pine trees, clean bathrooms, clean sites, water from taps, no hookups, and not for big rigs. The hosts are friendly, but strict! No generators from 8 pm to 8 am, a $3000 fine if your campfire is left unattended, and no rowdy obnoxious behavior is tolerated! We appreciated the rules, and thoroughly enjoyed our peaceful, quiet, deep in the woods getaway!!

      Catalina Spa and RV Resort

Nice place, good value for money

Great for long term RV camping with hookups. They have nice hot springs pools, decent cell signal, and reasonable prices for full hookups. Camp sites are on the small side so neighbors are close, but at least they put plants in between to give you a little privacy.

The region spans elevations from 1,500 to 5,000 feet, creating varied camping conditions throughout the year. What to do

Geocaching opportunities: The San Bernardino Mountains offer numerous geocaching sites for technology-enhanced treasure hunting. "Tons of land to hike, on or off trail. Geocaching sites nearby. The Keller Peak Lookout was amazing. I thought it was just a tourist attraction but it's really a staffed active fire lookout," shares Steve H.

Family-friendly water activities: Beyond RV camping, Moreno Valley offers water recreation at nearby lakes. "My family loves this place... the family fun is always amazing," says Ametra J. about Launch Pointe Recreation Destination and RV Park, which features a splash pad and pool for children.

    What campers like

Privacy between sites: Unlike tightly packed RV campgrounds, some camping areas offer more space. "These sites are beautiful - especially #9! It pokes out over the mountains and has the most unbelievable view," reports Kate W. about Keller Peak Yellow Post Campsites, where "there are only 9 sites stretched across 5 miles so you will have no neighbors."

Family activities beyond hookups: Many RV parks near Moreno Valley provide recreational amenities. "Amenities are very good for young kids. Canopy Court area has easy and close access to the splash pad, the playground, a large grass area, and even the pool," notes Bryan H., highlighting family-friendly features beyond standard RV services.

Mountain views: Higher elevation camping provides scenic vistas not available in valley locations. "Ultra clean and well maintained, this park sets itself apart. Perfect gateway for your adventures in the area," writes Ken C. about Skypark Camp RV Resort, which offers panoramic mountain views.

    What you should know

Off-season availability: Winter camping offers quieter experiences with unique seasonal conditions. "Weather is definitely colder than in the valley, got snow overnight in mid May. Had very bad but there at&t cell reception. Nice and quiet with space between spots," reports Jillian about Keller Peak campsites.

Security features: Many RV campgrounds near Moreno Valley implement security measures. "Friendly staff to check us in gates close at 10:pm your provided with a security gate code to get back in if your out late," shares Jody R. about Rancho Jurupa RV Park.

Water quality concerns: Lake conditions can affect camping experiences. "The beach was right there, close and beautiful right on Lake Elsinore. Yet the beach was disgusting, stinky and covered with algae," notes Brian C. at Launch Pointe Recreation Destination, highlighting that water quality varies seasonally.

    Tips for camping with families

Group camping considerations: Some sites better accommodate larger family groups than others. "Took Girl Scouts here for group camping. Rocky and sand. The family camping was fine! Girls used Porta Potties," shares Janet S. about her experience at Rancho Jurupa RV Park.

Kid-friendly campground amenities: Look for campgrounds with dedicated children's facilities. "Great park. It may not seem nice when you are passing through town to get in, but once you enter the gates it's beautiful... Lots of grass, great place to camp in groups," notes Paul C. about the spacious family areas at Rancho Jurupa.

Evening activities for children: Some RV parks offer organized activities. "Lots of activities for the kids to do, like smores by the fire, art, splash pad, and play ground. Facility was clean," reports Jeff E. about the structured evening programs at Launch Pointe.

    Tips from RVers

Site leveling requirements: RV campers report varying site conditions across Moreno Valley campgrounds. "The sites are all uneven. Every camper we saw had to do major leveling efforts," warns Brian C., suggesting that wheel blocks and leveling equipment are essential.

Seasonal considerations: Summer heat affects RV camping comfort and operations. "It's hot but a fire haze has blocked the sun a bit also the water pad is so fun even for grown ups," mentions Sara H. about conditions at Wilderness Lakes RV Resort, where summer temperatures regularly exceed 95°F.

Electrical capacity limitations: RV parks have different electrical service availability. "They don't have enough 50amp sites and not all of them are always working. This park is first come / first served and they don't prohibit a 30amp rig from taking a 50amp site, so you can see the problem," explains David N., suggesting calling ahead to confirm appropriate hookups.
