Best Dog-Friendly Camping near La Habra, CA

Anaheim Harbor RV Park offers full hookups for pets without breed restrictions in a convenient location near Disneyland. Orangeland RV Park provides two dedicated dog parks for exercise, with well-maintained grounds and pet-friendly policies. Most campgrounds near La Habra allow two pets per site, with Bonelli Bluffs and Newport Dunes RV Resort offering spacious accommodations for RVs and tent camping. Pet owners appreciate the clean facilities at Prado Regional Park where dogs must remain leashed except in designated areas. The proximity to both urban amenities and natural spaces makes these locations practical for campers traveling with animals.

Several campgrounds feature walking paths suitable for daily pet exercise, particularly along the Santa Ana River Trail that connects the beach to the San Bernardino Mountains. Crystal Cove State Park's Moro Campground permits pets but requires them to remain outside cabin accommodations. Campground bathrooms and shower facilities remain exceptionally clean despite high pet traffic. Temperature considerations become important during summer months when pavement can become too hot for paws in these primarily paved RV park environments. Most campgrounds enforce quiet hours to minimize barking disturbances, with security personnel present overnight. Veterinary services can be found within 15 minutes of most campgrounds, and pet waste stations are provided throughout all facilities to maintain cleanliness.

    Waterfront RV Park

    Waterfront RV Park, CA

Located in Huntington Beach California. This site is right across the street from the beach. Be careful and aware when staying here. My husband and I had our mountain bikes stolen when sleeping. When we asked for camera footage the owners of the campground claimed the cameras were broken and they couldn’t share the footage. There are many homeless folks living in the area. The showers don’t get hot, but the area is clean. There is a pool and a hot tub and a small dog park. It’s expensive to stay here, but a beautiful spot.

    Hollywood RV Park

    Themed Park!

First of all, staff was amazing. We were originally supposed to arrive on a Tuesday and we’re not able to make it. Staff shifted our reservation instead of us eating the missed night cost. Also super accommodating allowing us to extend a day longer last minute. Park is tight quarters with 200 spots. Two laundry rooms/bathrooms with showers on site, plus a cute little dog park! We stayed for three nights. Every “road” in the park is themed with California or Hollywood themed decorations and murals. We were parked right next to a Mister Roger’s mural across from the laundry/bathrooms. My only complaint in the noise level at times which is not from the park itself. Helicopters would fly over randomly, sometimes at night and it could be annoying when trying to sleep. Otherwise, absolute GEM of a place!

Launch Pointe Recreation Destination and RV Park

    Nicest cleanest campground

I had site 126 in the fields, corner site and lake view. This campground has a pool, splash pad, park, dog park and access to the lake. They also have a band on Saturday nights. The only bad part is they strictly enforce quiet time at 10pm. I felt like a kid being told to go to bed. I feel like on weekends people should be able to stay up late in front of their camper with low voices. Shouldn’t be hounded night after night! That was my only complaint.

    Hare School Park

It’s the sports fields parking lot

I’ve been here for a couple days and nobody’s mess with us. There’s other people that are staying in another parking lot attached that are homeless in their vehicles mostly cars and vans. I’m in a 25 foot Fleetwood RV. There’s a dog park kind of area with a big field they can run around and just clean up after them. There’s no public bathrooms, but there are trash cans so clean up after yourself please. It’s not tent friendly. I don’t believe.

    Palm View RV Park

    This place is good

This is our 2nd time here it's quiet and they have the most interesting walkabout garden with little kickbacks where u can chill with whoever. If you don't have anybody walk on over next to the garden to find some nice goats and sheep and up on the little hill there's cute chickens of all whom can be pet as for they are all used to being pet. We bought some food that we feed them.

Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

Rolling M. Ranch Campground — Chino Hills State Park

    Beautifully scenic area

Sprawling lush green hills? Can’t beat Chino Hills State Park.
The campground itself feels very close together and wide open compared to the space of the park. Gets loud at night if there are too many groups camping. No cell service. Super clean bathrooms and showers.

PET OWNERS BEWARE: Our dog munched on a frog at this campsite and started foaming at the mouth. We rinsed her mouth out with water and she turned out fine, but a smaller dog or a swallowed frog and she could have died from toxicity.

    Bonita Ranch Campground

    Loved this spot!!

A little gem hiding out in Lytle Creek! Easy access to a pretty trail right behind the campground. Very quiet and interspersed with long time stayers and temporary campers. I stayed in my van and had my cat and dog with me. Campfire wood was easily available and had its own picnic table. Beautiful scenery and we even got a dusting of snow! I stayed two nights while in town for work and it was perfect.

Guide to La Habra

Pet owners seeking dog friendly campgrounds near La Habra have several excellent options within a 30-minute radius. The area sits at the northwestern edge of Orange County, where coastal influence moderates temperatures between 60-80°F during camping season. Most local campgrounds allow dogs in designated areas, though restrictions apply for access to cabin interiors and certain trails.

What to do

Hiking with pets: At Moro Campground — Crystal Cove State Park, leashed dogs can access the trail system. One camper notes, "The best trail here stretches across the two parks -- No Name Ridge!! Amazing for EPIC SUNSETS!" The Santa Ana River Trail connects to many campgrounds, offering miles of dog-walking possibilities.

Beach access: Dogs on leashes can visit the shoreline areas at some campgrounds. At Crystal Cove, "There is beach access from the campground and several hiking trails in the park," though the walk is "steep but worth it."

Horseback riding: The La Habra region offers equestrian-friendly parks. At Rolling M. Ranch Campground, "There is camping, horseback riding, fishing, trails, biking, hiking, picnics... I brought my horses one time and it was amazing the best time of my life."

Cycling routes: Many pet-friendly campgrounds connect to extensive biking networks. "There's plenty of restrooms and parking. There's also a number of hiking trails that leave from the campground," making it convenient for pet owners seeking exercise options.

What campers like

Clean facilities despite pet traffic: At Prado Regional Park, campers appreciate that "bathrooms are cleaned the whole day through," making it easier for those traveling with animals who need regular facility access.

Privacy between sites: Many campgrounds offer reasonable spacing. "The campsites are roped off and have a decent amount of distance between them. There is some vegetation between them but not enough to be totally private," notes one Crystal Cove visitor, allowing pets some buffer space.

Water features: Dogs enjoy the water access at several parks. As one camper at Prado mentioned, "We saw some wild turkeys running around in back of the grounds. That was so awesome. They do have a firing range."

What you should know

No-breed restriction policy: Anaheim Harbor RV Park allows pets without limiting specific breeds, though they do charge per pet. According to a visitor: "You must pay for your family pet."

Leash requirements: All campgrounds require dogs to remain leashed except in designated dog park areas. One camper warns, "Be careful of rattlesnakes" at Crystal Cove, emphasizing the importance of keeping pets controlled.

Pet waste stations: Facilities typically provide waste disposal stations throughout the grounds. At Prado Regional Park, "The sites here are pretty nice and far enough apart to have some privacy. With the local dairies are more insects than many campgrounds."

Temperature considerations: Summer heat can affect pet comfort. "It's a good spot for a quick getaway from the city," but one camper notes, "No shade so avoid in the summer," which is particularly important for pet owners.

Tips for camping with families

Kid-friendly swimming: Newport Dunes RV Resort offers excellent options for families with pets. "They have activities for the kids like arts and crafts, an inflatable obstacle course or you can rent paddle boards or watch a movie on the beach."

Educational opportunities: Crystal Cove offers "a super helpful information about the park, its trails, and the cottages," where families can learn about local ecology while accommodating pets.

Security considerations: Most campgrounds maintain overnight security. At Orangeland RV Park, "Security at night" helps ensure safety for families with pets, and the park has "rules there to keep things nice and safe."
