CAMPER SUMMARY PRESENTED BYFord

Several RV parks near Diamond Bar provide varying amenities for recreational vehicles. Rancho Jurupa RV Park in Riverside offers full hookups with 50-amp service on concrete pads with grassy areas between sites. Bonelli Bluffs in San Dimas features spacious sites with full hookups, including 50-amp electric, water, and sewer connections. Fairplex RV Park in Pomona accommodates RVs with full hookup sites but has limited maneuvering space for larger rigs. At Canyon RV Park in Anaheim, pull-through rv pads are available with water, electric, and sewer connections. "Spaces are very tight. Good for 1 night only stay. Staff was friendly and place is clean but not much room to maneuver a large RV in," noted one visitor about Fairplex RV Park.

Weekends fill quickly at most parks in the region, particularly at Bonelli Bluffs where weekday occupancy remains low but weekend sites book completely. Many RV parks require advance reservations, especially during special events at the nearby Fairplex. All parks mentioned are open year-round with dump stations available for guests. Pet policies vary between locations, though most allow dogs with standard leash restrictions. Orangeland RV Park prohibits campfires but offers laundry facilities. According to one camper, Bonelli Bluffs "is definitely a huge difference than just tent camping—they have full hookups, no internet, and you can get as far away from the lake or as close to the lake as you want." Most parks have security features including gated access with entry codes for after-hours arrival.

Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

    Hidden Gem

I loved this place, this hidden gem is located in the in the middle of the city, with the feel of the outdoor. Lots of trees, biking and hiking trails, fishing area, beautiful views, very peaceful, family friendly, pet friendly, the C9 RV spot was very spacious, I also liked the A & B area. Not every site has a fire pit. Definitely coming back again.

    Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

    Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

    Waterfront RV Park

    Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

    Great family friendly place

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

    Ronald W. Caspers Wilderness Park

One of the Best County Parks you will find

This is a great park in Southern Orange County. I have tent camped here for years with my kids in the Live Oak campground and never had a bad experience. There are hiking trails everywhere with lots of wildlife to watch. I switched to a travel trailer several years ago and now use Ortega Flats campground. The sites are big and well spaced, with 30 amp electric. The water is off for the time being. The dump station is very close by and easy to access.

    Bonita Ranch Campground

    Just ok overall

Needed somewhere fairly close to home to take my new to us motorhome. Sites were decent size but fairly close together so don’t expect a lot of privacy. Sites interspersed among long term residents. Hookups water and electric at each site. Some shade, trails to riverbed currently mostly dry and Bonita falls about 25 minute walk over river rock. Fire rings available to rent for $5. The biggest issue I had was our electric went out to our loop at about 7:30pm…luckily we are self contained…it still had not been restored when we left the next day at noonish. The lights to the office area and restrooms was still on (thankfully) but not the camp sites.

The park offers a serene environment amid urban surroundings with wildlife sightings including "Blue Herons eating gophers, squirrels and coyotes."

Citrus groves: At Orangeland RV Park, guests can pick fresh fruit. "Super friendly staff, super clean, 2 dog parks, offers really good wifi & cable. Security features: Many campers appreciate the safety measures at area campgrounds. At Rancho Jurupa Park, a camper notes: "Great sense of community and great placement of the gates for safety purposes... Ranger is on constant patrol." These security features provide peace of mind, especially for those unfamiliar with the area.

What you should know

Site spacing varies significantly: At Bonelli Bluffs, site proximity can affect experience. "Good campground if you like being 6 ft away from your neighbors. More of a group or community campground. Shared fire pit and tables," warns one camper. Request specific sites when making reservations for more privacy.

Noise considerations: Many campgrounds near Diamond Bar experience urban noise. Canyon RV Park sits between highways that "create noise day and night. They're also clearly visible." At Waterfront RV Park, "do expect some road noise from the PCH. Friday/Saturday were the worst nights."

Weather planning: Summer temperatures regularly exceed 90°F in Diamond Bar, making shade important. Winter temperatures typically range from 45-75°F, perfect for camping without extreme conditions. Rain is most likely between December and March, so waterproof gear is recommended during these months.

Activity options: Rancho Jurupa Park offers diverse recreation. "Great place to stop and watch the bread float... There is a pedestrian only shopping area with a Saturday farmer's market plus lots of restaurants," notes one visitor. Another camper adds: "Beautiful views all around Sunrise, Sunset and Night sky. Sights of all kinds of birds like hawks and herons. Water park and mini golf for kids."

Tips from RVers

Space limitations: Several RV parks have tight maneuvering areas. One camper at Fairplex RV Park warns: "Spaces are very tight. Good for 1 nite only stay." Another advises: "If you have a larger RV or slide-outs it is recommended you book Deluxe space or Deluxe space+ parking."

Site selection strategy: At Newport Dunes, "Standard sites may be too narrow to extend awning." For Waterfront RV Park, an experienced RVer suggests: "If I were again to come, I would stay in a site in the 84-89 numbers, and the sites 26-36 are HUGE."

Hookup availability: Canyon RV Park offers "fairly modern electrical hookups" and "easy to access dump stations." At Bonita Ranch Campground, campers note "full hookups lots to do trails and not to mention right on top of the creek."
