Best RV Parks & Resorts near Azusa, CA

Several RV parks around Azusa provide full hookup sites for various motorhome sizes. Bonelli Bluffs in San Dimas offers 50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections, with sites spaced to accommodate slide-outs. Rancho Jurupa RV Park in Riverside maintains year-round availability with big rig friendly spaces and full hookup options. Many parks in the region have paved interior roads, though some campgrounds near canyon areas feature tight turns that may challenge longer rigs. Dump stations are available at most established RV parks, with Rancho Jurupa and Bonelli Bluffs offering on-site sanitary dump facilities. A visitor to Bonita Ranch Campground reported: "Sites were decent size but fairly close together, hookups water and electric at each site." Pet policies vary across properties, with most allowing dogs but implementing leash requirements and designated pet areas. During summer months, advance reservations become essential as parks within driving distance of Los Angeles fill quickly, particularly on weekends.

Anaheim RV Park - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

Disney Camping - Clean, Pool, Very Nice Restrooms/Showers

Anaheim RV Resort is close to Disney and is on the Anaheim Resort Transportation (ART) bus route. They have full hook up sites and room for large rigs - back-in and pull through. They are very pet friendly and even have a dog walking/feeding service (for an extra fee). There is a small pool and hot tub. The restrooms/showers and newly remodeled and very nice! Sites are all level and fairly large. We've stayed here 4 times and will be back again!

    Bolsa Chica State Beach Campground

    Bolsa Chica State Beach

The 4 stars is primarily for location. This is essentially a parking lot with power and water. We had a beach front space (B035) with a decent sized palm tree. The only one I really saw. The spaces aren’t huge so if you have a big rig or large trailer it will be tight. Most trailers parked their tow vehicle perpendicular to the space and some barely fit. There is no privacy, the small concrete area is shared with your neighbors as is the entrance to the beach side. People watching at the boardwalk is amazing. There is live music at the beach bars nearby which was cool. Definitely bring bike. There isn’t a lot within walking distance but downtown Huntington Beach and the pier is just a couple miles away.

    Waterfront RV Park

    Great place by the beach

Your not on the beach but literally on the other side of pacific coast highway you are there. They have smaller options for travel trailers with power hook ups only and pull through and back in sites available with full hook ups. They have a great pool, maintained laundry rooms bathrooms and showers separated by men and woman for that privacy you need. Overall an incredible rv park and very impressed by it being well kept and clean. Not to mention close to the beach

    Mountain Lakes Resort

    Great family friendly place

My wife and I have been coming up here for years. We used to use her parents fifth wheel or use a cabin but recently purchased our own travel trailer. Now we come up here with our kids and I can’t say enough about how family friendly it is.

    Ronald W. Caspers Wilderness Park

One of the Best County Parks you will find

This is a great park in Southern Orange County. I have tent camped here for years with my kids in the Live Oak campground and never had a bad experience. There are hiking trails everywhere with lots of wildlife to watch. I switched to a travel trailer several years ago and now use Ortega Flats campground. The sites are big and well spaced, with 30 amp electric. The water is off for the time being. The dump station is very close by and easy to access.

    Bonita Ranch Campground

    Just ok overall

Needed somewhere fairly close to home to take my new to us motorhome. Sites were decent size but fairly close together so don’t expect a lot of privacy. Sites interspersed among long term residents. Hookups water and electric at each site. Some shade, trails to riverbed currently mostly dry and Bonita falls about 25 minute walk over river rock. Fire rings available to rent for $5. The biggest issue I had was our electric went out to our loop at about 7:30pm…luckily we are self contained…it still had not been restored when we left the next day at noonish. The lights to the office area and restrooms was still on (thankfully) but not the camp sites.

Guide to Azusa

Family-friendly RV campgrounds near Azusa, California offer camping options within a 45-minute drive of the San Gabriel Mountains. The area experiences hot, dry summers with temperatures often exceeding 90°F from June through September, while winter nights can drop below 45°F. Most local campgrounds remain open year-round with varying seasonal amenities depending on weather conditions.

What to do

Hiking trails access: At Bonita Ranch Campground, visitors can enjoy hiking to nearby falls. "Easy access to a pretty trail right behind the campground. Very quiet and interspersed with long time stayers and temporary campers," notes one visitor to Bonita Ranch Campground.

Water activities: Families camping at Newport Dunes appreciate the water-based recreation options. "They have activities for the kids like arts and crafts, an inflatable obstacle course or you can rent paddle boards or watch a movie on the beach. There are fantastic running/bike trails along the Back Bay," shares a camper at Newport Dunes RV Resort.

City exploration: For campers wanting to visit Los Angeles, Thousand Trails provides a strategic base. "This is a good location to explore LA and greater LA area, 45 min to Hollywood sign. Park is a large TT resort with recently remolded lodge in 2019," explains a visitor at Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon.

What campers like

Family-friendly amenities: The region's campgrounds offer various recreation options for children. "Great things to do here. There is camping, horseback riding, fishing, trails, biking, hiking, picnics, you can use your jet skies in designated areas, swimming on the pool areas, kayaking, Park for kids and plenty more," explains a visitor at Bonelli Bluffs.

Natural surroundings: Despite urban proximity, many campgrounds maintain natural settings. "Beautiful views all around Sunrise, Sunset and Night sky. Sights of all kinds of birds like hawks and herons. Water park and mini golf for kids," reports a camper at Rancho Jurupa RV Park.

Convenience to attractions: RV parks near Azusa provide easy access to Southern California attractions. "We loved this RV park. Easy 15 min drive to Disney plus the ART bus picks up straight from the campground," notes a visitor to Orangeland RV Park.

What you should know

Spacing considerations: Site sizes vary significantly between campgrounds. "Spaces are big and well spaced, with 30 amp electric," is often cited, but conditions differ by location. "A little pricey but very nice facility. All hookups 30/50 amp. Cable TV. There's a pool. A tent area. Some spaces monumentally better than others," explains a camper at Fairplex RV Park.

Noise levels: Several campgrounds experience noise from nearby transportation. "Very well-kept, with cabins, RV spots, a youth area, tent spots and a ropes course. A pool, flushable toilets and hot showers are available to all campers for free. The site is bordered by highways on both sides, and they create noise day and night," warns a visitor to Canyon RV Park.

Reservation timing: During peak seasons, particularly summer holidays, advance booking becomes essential. "We stayed for 21 days and had a pretty good experience. My main complaint is loud music and barking dogs late at night and early in the morning," notes a visitor to Thousand Trails Soledad Canyon.

Tips for camping with families

Activity planning: Families benefit from campgrounds with dedicated children's activities. "Took Girl Scouts here for group camping. Rocky and sand. The family camping was fine! Girls used Porta Potties. I'm hoping they have finished construction on something better since then. However, there are some great kid friendly activities," shares a visitor to Rancho Jurupa RV Park.

Water features: During hot months, pools and splash pads prove essential for families. "It could have been better over here will definitely be returning you can stay for 20 days and then you have to leave for 60 days and that's fine with me I'm looking forward to returning," mentions a camper at Bonelli Bluffs.

Safety considerations: Some parks offer enhanced security features. "This place was nice. Great sense of community and great placement of the gates for safety purposes. Lots of food spots within 10 minutes. Spaces are one of the cleanest I seen. Ranger is on constant patrol," reports a visitor to Rancho Jurupa RV Park.

Tips from RVers

Site selection strategy: Experienced RVers recommend researching specific site locations before booking. "I loved this place, this hidden gem is located in the middle of the city, with the feel of the outdoor. Lots of trees, biking and hiking trails, fishing area, beautiful views, very peaceful, family friendly, pet friendly, the C9 RV spot was very spacious, I also liked the A & B area," advises a camper at Anaheim Harbor RV Park.

Parking considerations: Larger RVs require careful site selection at many parks. "Spaces are very tight. Good for 1 nite only stay. Staff was friendly and place is clean but not much room to maneuver a lg. rv. in," cautions a visitor to Fairplex RV Park.

Hookup availability: Water and electrical connections vary between campgrounds and specific sites. "Sites were decent size but fairly close together, hookups water and electric at each site," is common feedback for the region's RV parks.
