    Piney Point

    Nice clean COE campground

Nice well spaced sites with level concrete pads. Lots of trees for shade in most sites. Beautiful views from the sites on the bluff. It has been quiet every time we were there . Playground ,boat ramp , nice clean showers and rest room. the staff has always been helpful. Most sites are water and electric but there may be some with full hookups . If not , there is a dump station . Very family friendly . No swimming area , but at my age that is not a big deal.

    Cowhide Cove Campground

Really nice small campground at OLD Cowhide Cove

This is to update my previous post. We are now in the Old Cowhide Cove Campground. We have a beautiful spot backed up to the lake with a wonderful view. There are two widely separated camping areas: New Cowhide Cove and Old Cowhide Cove. We ae in OLD Cowhide Cove so this review is specific to that area. Very adequate campsites are well spaced with picnic table, fire ring., 50 amp electric and water. There is a well situated dump station right on the way out. Even though the sites are long enough for most rigs, there is a paved parking area between most sites. Old Cowhide Cove Campground is a small area with only a few sites--a plus for me.

I highly recommend this campground. The unreasonably late check-in time is a responsibility of the COE. There was no one to check us in which was no problem for us as we had advanced reservations and an assigned site which was easy to find and presented no difficulty in backing in.

Texarkana RV Park & Event Center

    Great park, but tight spots.

Texarkana RV Park is a very nice, clean, and friendly RV park. They have a gated entrance for extra security. The park has nice amenities such as pool, playground, laundry, restrooms, dog run, and park-like setting with duck pond. Most sites are pull-thru and plenty long, but narrow. Beware of your slide placement before parking, as site poles may be in the way of a slide fully opening. Each site is gravel with a patio and they have 50 amp FHU. We enjoyed our stay at this campground and would definitely stay again. 👍🏻😊

    Cowhide Cove Campground

Quiet camping at Old Cowhide Cove

Old Cowhide Cove campground has 9 sites,  6 are well spaced, level sites spread out along a lake just inside the trees, remainder are placed upon the hill overlooking those sites.  Campground road is paved with gravel parking pads.  Each site has a picnic table, metal fire ring,  BBQ grill and a small table near the BBQ grill.  Plenty of room for a tent on the grass.  Sites have electric and water hook ups.  Cost is $20.  Campground has a restroom but no showers (showers can be found at the more modern New Cowhide Cove campground located on the other side of the lake from old cowhide).  Campground does have trash service and a dump station.  Their is also a small day use area available.

    Millwood State Park Campground

    Nice Park Overall

We are from TX and came to Arkansas for a wedding. This was my first out of state, state park so keep that in mind. The sites are clean and well cared for. There is exactly ONE pull through site that we were fortunate enough to get. The rest are on a tight road. The highway runs right by the pull through site so the road noise can be loud at times. I recommend staying by the lake if you don’t need a pull through site. There are 2 walking trails and a few playgrounds. No fishing off the pier. The lake is BEAUTIFUL, we saw an alligator (I was quite excited about that). The dump station is a pretty tight squeeze but doable if your site doesn’t have a dump (ours did). ATT cell service SUUUUCKS here. I repeat, it suuuuuucks lol! Picked up 4 TV channels on the 1 rainy day we had. All in all, I would stay here again, just wouldn’t compare it to TX State Parks, because well…. I learned this weekend everything is indeed bigger in Texas.

White Oak Lake State Park Campground

    Campsites with lake view

White Oak Lake is beautiful. Most, if not all, campsites offer a view of the lake. Spent 2 nights here in February. Only 2 other campsites occupied. Camped in a camper van. Except for nearby blasts (gunshots?) at 9am each morning, the campground was very quiet. The restroom/ shower facilities were very clean. The campsites are also clean. 30amp & 50amp service available. Fire ring, table, lantern hook, and water at each site. Good hiking trails. Tall pine trees throughout, but no privacy between campsites. Sites are close to the campground loop roads, and close together. Not sure if I would enjoy staying here during the peak season, but a good place to stay in the summer. Filks in the office were friendly & helpful. Fire is available for sale.

Guide to Hope

RV parks near Hope, Arkansas range from roadside facilities to lakeside campgrounds with varied amenities. Sites in this region typically cost between $15-40 per night, with most campgrounds positioned within a 30-mile radius of Hope. Summer temperatures can reach above 90°F, making shade a premium feature at many locations.

What to do

Fishing at Lake Columbia: Lake Columbia RV Park provides direct lake access where anglers can fish from the shoreline. "The lake is beautiful and often covered in lilies. Even in the heat of the summer, the breeze off the lake, coupled with the shade of the trees, keeps it cooler than most of the area nearby," notes Sébastien M. from Lake Columbia RV Park.

Diamond mining excursions: Located near Murfreesboro, visitors can rent equipment for diamond hunting. "We stayed for two nights and got to rent out equipment for free to go diamond mining and the woman on staff was very friendly and helped us out with a last minute reservation," reports natalie G. from Murfeesboro RV Park.

River activities: The Caddo River offers floating options with rental equipment available. "The float is also so much fun and accessible for all ages! There's so much to see and the water actually moves instead of you having to paddle the whole way," shares Jessica D. about river activities near the campground.

What campers like

Cooler temperatures by water: Campers appreciate the natural cooling effect at lakeside locations. "The breeze off the lake, coupled with the shade of the trees, keeps it cooler than most of the area nearby," according to a Lake Columbia visitor, making summer camping more comfortable.

Affordability for tent campers: Budget-conscious visitors note reasonable rates at several locations. "20.00 a night for two people in tent camping. I'm in van and they allowed me to van camp. Tent sites have electric. So bought an extension cord and took full advantage for a small heater," shares Jeanne A. from Murfeesboro RV Park.

Convenient highway access: Sunrise RV Park receives praise for its accessibility. "Excellent staff who are accommodating. One night, full hookups was less than $40. Nice site. Close to a Pilot gas station and I-30," reports Jeremy G., highlighting the location's convenience for travelers.

What you should know

Seasonal insect challenges: Summer months bring increased insect activity at several campgrounds. "Got the popup all setup, then discovered there was a large wasp nest in the electric hookup box. Had to break down and move to another spot in the dark," warns Matthew T. about his experience at Caddo River Access RV Park.

Variable water quality: Some campers report issues with water at certain facilities. "Shower water smells funny but it will take your first lawyer of skin off," notes Anita about Murfeesboro RV Park, suggesting visitors might want to bring their own water for sensitive uses.

Noise considerations: Traffic sounds affect some camping locations. "Be warned that the campsite is right off a highway bridge so a decent amount of traffic through at all times," advises Suzsan M. about Caddo River Access RV Park.

Tips for camping with families

Choose sites with playgrounds: Forest Lake RV Park offers family-friendly amenities including a fishing pond suitable for children. "Nice Location near the lake. Away from center city but close enough if you need something," recommends Kim B.

Bring insect protection: Parents should pack bug spray and citronella candles, especially during summer months when wasps and ants are commonly reported at multiple rv parks in Hope, Arkansas and surrounding areas.

Consider campground crowding: Some locations become very busy during peak seasons. "If you are planning to kayak, canoe or tube, then you may not mind how busy the campgrounds are," advises Melissa B. about weekend conditions at Caddo River.

Tips from RVers

Access limitations: Some Hope, Arkansas camping areas have entrance challenges. "Only downside is there are several potholes on the entrance to the campground. Have to go very slow," cautions Jason H. about Texarkana RV Park.

Wi-Fi connectivity issues: Internet service varies significantly between facilities. "Wi-Fi is spotty and could not connect in the B section," reports Jack W. about Sunrise RV Park, suggesting campers bring alternative connectivity options.

Site spacing considerations: RV sites at some parks offer more privacy than others. "Sites are long enough for most rigs, there is a paved parking area between most sites," noted one visitor describing a nearby campground.
