    Catherine's Landing

    Very Nice, Lots of Amenities

Catherine’s Landing is a great RV park with lots of amenities and things happening. This park is an RVC Outdoor Destination property which is known for their “resort” amenities. The park is set on 400 acres with one mile bordering Lake Catherine and about eight or nine miles from downtown Hot Springs.

All roads, sites and patios are paved and this is definitely a big rig-friendly park. Every site has water, 50/30 amp, sewer, cable, and wifi. Fire pits and picnic tables accompany all sites. There are a variety of sites ranging from waterfront back-in, pull-thrus, or interior back-in. Waterfront sites have a nice view of the lake from the back of the site and access for fishing. The park also has yurts and cottages (some of which are pet-friendly). Adjacent to the yurts is a nice, large covered picnic area with grills, a dish washing station.

Lots and lots of amenities here. Hiking trails, swimming pool, fitness center, lounge, playground, dog park, zip-line, boat rental, boat launch, store, and disc golf. Some amenities (boat rentals and zip-line) are an extra charge.

Hot Springs is a nice little town nestled in the Ouachita Mountains with interesting history and natural beauty. We found plenty to do from hiking the National Park to learning about the bathhouse history to discovering the gangster influence. We spent four nights and could have stayed longer with all that the town offers. Most people come here to bathe in the soothing warm mineral waters but there is also a horse racetrack, science museum, off road track, water/theme park, alligator farm, and a few museums. Hot Springs National Park has miles and miles of great hiking trails and a great place to spend an afternoon. The town of Hot Springs is very dog-friendly and we found many places that would allow them in and on the patio for lunch.

    Pros:

    • Very nice, clean, well-manicured
    • Lots of amenities
    •  Paved level sites with paved patios
    • The dog park was a decent size for running and mingling with other dogs
    • The hiking trail(about 3 miles) was a big plus and got used a lot.

    Cons:

    • Price. We booked late and didn’t have too many sites to choose from we had to pay for a waterfront site

Petit Jean State Park — Petit Jean State Park

    Fantastic State Park

Camped here on May 1, 2025. This is one of my favorite state parks in the USA. Lots to do here. Fantastic hiking trails - rated from easy to difficult. Since I live only 45 minutes from this park, I normally come here for the day for hiking. This time, I got around to trying out the park's campground. This popular campround is divided into 4 areas - A through D. There are a total of 125 campsites, including 26 pull-through sites. Thirty-five of the sites are Class AAA sites which have 50 amp electrical, water, and sewer hookups. There are 90 Class B sites offering 30 amp electrical and water hookups. All sites are reservable. Tent and hammock camping is possible depending on the sites. I camped at site 103 in Area D. The staff at the office helped me pick this site for my campervan. The site had water and 30amp service. The restroom/shower house was clean and well maintained. The campsite itself was dated but clean. The site was large and had trees around it offering a little bit of privacy. The pull-thru drieway was close to the campground road. The site included a picnic table, tent pad, lantern pole, metal fire ring, and grill. Solar charging and Starlink connectivity may not be possible at this site; Area C has an open sky above it. There was some road noise from vehicles driving on Petit Jean Mountain Road which is behind the site. Received good AT&T 5G cell service, but little to no T-Mobile 2G service.  Areas C and D are in the woods. Most of the sites in these areas are on the small size but should easily accomodate a truck camper and smaller. Not all sites are level. Areas A and B can accomodate large rigs and towables.

    Leisure Landing RV Park

    Don't Bother

Gravel parking lot with painted stripes, a patch of grass growing under the picnic table, and full hookups. Be sure to back in centered, others are complaining about hitting their slide outs. Watch your step. One of the long-term residents isn't picking up their dog waste. The nicest spot in the whole place is the little fenced-in dog spot overlooking the canal that makes its way out to the lake you can't see from here.

    Downtown Riverside RV Park

    Unique RV Experience

At first entrance it appears as if you are entering a large parking lot. There is a large pavilion to picnic and pet area by the water. Each site requires a 50 amp but the office will offer one for purchase if you need a 50 to 30 amp connections. The center lot is for pull through sites the other site areas non-pull through by water and fence. The fence area is close to the bridge but could be limited with views since it is far away from the water and Class A frequent area.

    Two things I love:

    1. The unique downtown riverside views
    2. The ease of getting to this RV park even though it is downtown Little Rock.

Gulpha Gorge Campground — Hot Springs National Park

    Beautiful, clean, great location

Beautiful, clean, great location. Camped here in Feb 2020, right on the river. Full hookups, mostly back-in but some pull throughs. Paved, level. Tent sites, too. Clean bathrooms, little camp store. Close to town. Would camp again.

    Hot Springs National Park KOA

    Clean with a dog park

D26 Back-in full hook-ups, fire ring & picnic table. 2 nights - Memorial Day weekend. Good spot, close to bath rooms/shower house/cafe. Pretty level - just 1 leveling block was all we needed for our pop-up. Lots of amenities- cafe, fishing pond, small general store, playground and off leash dog area. Staff was very friendly. Escorted you to your spot and helped us back in. Shower house was always clean. Loved the dog park! We are just starting to travel with our 2 boxers and was so nice to have an area for them to run a bit. Cons - spots are very close, no privacy. Each spot has a very bright “porch” light that is on until Midnight

Hot Springs Arkansas Finish Line RV Park Walk to Oaklawn and Bathhouse Row

    Nice little park

This is a nice little gated park. Close to the national park in Hot Springs Arkansas. And right next door to the flat track/casino. It’s pretty new, but not really any extra amenities. 20/30/50 amp full hookups. Concrete pads, and paved streets. Laundry and bath house. Inexpensive. We’d definitely stay here again!

    Downtown Riverside RV Park

Parking lot but close to downtown.

Talk about great location in a great town. We usually do not like camping in cities this big but wanted to come here to visit the William J. Clinton Presidential Library. And what a great location this park is to downtown Little Rock and the library. There is a pedestrian bridge that takes you over the Arkansas River to downtown and all the attractions; as well as, some great restaurants and a vibrant downtown.

This campground is essentially a parking lot.  There is no shade and our air conditioners ran non-stop since we were there in July.  There is a grassy area in front along the river that is a common area for you to enjoy the night sky. The riverfront is beautiful at night with the downtown lit up at night. Sites include 50 amp electric, water and sewer. There is also a dump station and WiFi. Some of the riverfront sites have been upgrades to concrete pads and some sites are pull-thru sites. The restrooms were clean and washers and dryers are on-site. The park takes any kind of RV from pop-up to Class A but does not accept tents. The price we paid was definitely reasonable at$22/night(with tax) but they also offer numerous discounts.

Downtown Little Rock is a great town with plenty to do, see, and eat. The great things about this park are that it is convenient to the interstate and a great price. For the location, you would expect to pay a lot more. We loved walking to town at night and enjoying the restaurants and breweries that bring the downtown to life. The weekly farmers market was a highlight and the Presidential Library is not to be missed.

Guide to Hot Springs Village

Dispersed camping opportunities near Hot Springs Village include several options within a 30-mile radius. The Arkansas Ouachita Mountains surrounding Hot Springs maintain an average elevation of 600-2,700 feet with humid subtropical climate conditions. Summer temperatures typically range from 90-100°F with high humidity, while winter overnight lows can drop to 30°F, affecting camping comfort seasonally.

What to do

Riverside relaxation: Willow Beach Campground provides water access for fishing and boating along the Arkansas River. "This is a pretty campground with huge trees for shade. The sites are extremely level! The water hyacinths were in full bloom while we were here and are beautiful," notes Jo E. who appreciates the natural surroundings.

Crystal mining excursions: Crystal Ridge RV Park connects directly to the Ron Coleman Mining operation. "For $20 you can go spend the day diggin through dirt and finding crystals. We came after a rain and cleaned up. Hundred bucks in gems," reports Justin M. The proximity to mining activities makes this campground unique among rv parks near Hot Springs Village.

Lake activities: Treasure Isle RV Park provides direct lake access on Lake Hamilton. "Very nice and clean park. Nice and quite, right on the Ouachita River / lake Hamilton," says Bob R. The lakefront sites allow for immediate water access without driving to recreation areas.

What campers like

Spacious sites: Willow Beach campers consistently mention the generous spacing between sites. "Large sites, not piled in on each other like RV parks. it's a clean campground outside the city, can't beat it for the price. Waterfront. Covered picnic benches," writes Justin M. Sites feature 50-amp service and water hookups.

Clean facilities: Leisure Landing RV Park maintains exceptionally clean bathrooms and common areas. "The bathhouse reminded me of a dayspa! People and staff are friendly. They have a dogpark," reports Nicole C. Another camper noted, "The showers and bathrooms are top notch and everything is spotless."

Natural water sounds: J and J RV Park sites near the stream offer a peaceful audio backdrop. "The creek is nice and you can hear the water flowing over the rocks at night, the proverbial babbling brook," describes Greg D. The running water creates a natural white noise effect that masks road sounds.

What you should know

Varied cell service: Coverage can fluctuate throughout the Hot Springs camping region. At Cloud Nine RV Park, "Both AT&T and Verizon have full bars," according to Sarah J., though she had some issues during work calls requiring a switch to cellular data.

Seasonal pests: Insect activity increases during warm months. At Caddo River Access RV Park, one camper reported, "Bath house was little shop of horrors," regarding insect presence. At J and J RV Park, bullfrog activity creates noticeable sounds: "Except for the occasional dog barking contest, it's a quiet and comfortable place to stay. You can hear the bullfrogs at night."

Wildlife encounters: Some campgrounds report snake sightings during warmer months. At Willow Beach, one camper noted, "We encountered lots of snakes. I shooed a few off the road and they disappeared as soon as they slithered into the grass, so to me it's pretty risky walking around or letting kids play in the grass."

Tips for camping with families

Water play options: Caddo River Access RV Park offers river activities suitable for children. "The float is also so much fun and accessible for all ages! There's so much to see and the water actually moves instead of you having to paddle the whole way," shares Jessica D. The gentle current works well for family floating.

Playground facilities: Several rv parks near Hot Springs Village include playground equipment. At Willow Beach, a camper noted, "Nice playground but it was taped off during our stay due to covid." Call ahead to verify current playground availability and conditions.

Safety considerations: Some campgrounds implement security measures. Willow Beach maintains a gated entrance with controlled access. "They lock a gate every night at the entrance to the campground, however they do give you the code to the padlock," explains Jennifer C. This provides added security for families with young children.

Tips from RVers

Site leveling requirements: Prepare for varied leveling needs across different rv parks in Hot Springs Village area. At Leisure Landing RV Park, "Most of the sites are level and are comprised of crushed rock compressed," notes Ron R. Alternatively, at J and J RV Park, a reviewer suggests, "Recommend using a water pressure regulator, one of my pipes started leaking from the pressure."

Space considerations: RV site dimensions vary significantly between parks. At Crystal Ridge RV Park, "The paved areas (including the RV pads) are a bit rough, but ok. Leveling pads were needed for our site," reports Wayne J. For larger rigs, check maximum length accommodations when booking.

Satellite internet access: For those working remotely, satellite positioning matters. At J and J RV Park, "If you're after satellite internet, be sure to get a spot on the west side of the camp," advises Cultivating Fire L. Tree cover impacts satellite reception differently across various campgrounds.
