Cranberry Lake campground - Deception Pass, WA

Beautiful area with lots to do. Electric, water hookups with sewage dump on the way out. Campsites are not level and can be a tight fit between trees. Lots of different beach trails & bike paths. Whale watching excursions nearby. Cell service spotty.

Good for a night only.

It was very hot and no breeze. Not even close to the river at all. Camping sites were not well marked & yet the ranger stated we were 1 foot on the grass.. ( WHAT GRASS?) and made us move 1 foot. The picnic table was so old and worn out, it was bowed & not usable at all. I would only recommend this place as a quick stop off of I-90 to sleep, if that.

Yakima River Campgrounds -Roza campground

Another great camping experience, this time at Roza. This is a BLM recreation area. So no electric, water, or sewage dump. But what a clean and well run place. The river is cold but very clear/clean. Site #3 has more shade later in the day, but all 6 sites are parking lot sections with picnic tables & fire pits. Early in the AM the fish are jumping, but this section is catch & release only in the canyon. I just love this canyon. ❤️

Pricey KOA campground

Overpriced for the location & amenities. Next to the Yellowstone river. Kinda smelly by the river. They charge an extra 25 dollars if you come before 3:00 checking in time. Just was not that great a place for 100.00 a night in my opinion.

Great hosts & beautiful water.

Nice sites, leveled, bathrooms with only a sink. Water available if needed. Quiet peaceful, and a host couple that were very enjoyable. BLM recreation area, so only 15.00 a night. No electric or hookups.

Not really a campground

This area is right next to a very busy I-5 interstate freeway. I have NEVER considered it a camping spot, more like a truck stop or something else. It is just a bare spot to park for the night at most.

Okay for one night

There is a place to do laundry, one bathroom with shower per gender. You need the key code to use the bathroom. The place is right next to the main highway that is very busy, so there is much traffic noise. But for only 25.00 a night for full hookup, it is a good place to rest for the day/evening. I stayed one night, got my laundry done and sewage dumped and house batteries recharged in my 30 ft RV.

Beautiful area.

The price is right, only 3.00 for this senior pass holder. And what a view! You don’t even hear the highway above. Paved spots and covered picnic tables. No electric or water, but what a sweet place to stay! I will be back.

Lots of rules...

I get the impression this is a family park. There are cabins & tent sites and a handful of RV spots. Good for a shower & dump. The list of park rule are too long to list. Nice bathrooms. Cell & WiFi are poor for AT&T users. I only stayed here because it was all that was open in the area in March and I needed a shower!

Nevada could do better.

This state campground only has 50 of it’s 150 sites open. The other 3 loops have been basically abandoned for years the host stated. I think that is sad…. No electric and I wouldn’t trust the water. It’s probably a 2 mile drive to the Marina and only for boats, not swimming. There is a tiny little store and lounge on the premises, but that’s about it. Pretty empty when I stayed in site 9 in March for 2 nights. Lots of area to ride bikes on pavement. There were bathrooms, but no showers.

Okay for one night...

You will hear the Highway noise unless you use ear plugs. But if you need to do laundry & are in need of a shower, and worn out from the drive from Las Vegas, then it will do. Water, electric, sewer, in a gravel parking lot. 2 laundry machines out of order and the bathrooms have keypad locks. It was very quiet when I stayed in March and only one guy working. What more can I say…..

This is a state park.

Loved this place…. the spots on the beach are 5.00 more but worth it for the view & privacy! My second night was #16 and it was one of the best sites! Pictures speak louder than words. Water & Electric, excellent cell coverage with AT&T. Dump site at top of the hill. Lots of action on the water to watch. I was here in Feb 2021, 65 to 70 degrees. It can get a bit windy, but the sites are well protected for the most part.

Nice Sandy beach

This is another Arizona state park on Lake Havasu. About 20 miles south of Havasu City. Electric & water, dump site. Cellular is not as good here as Lake Havasu State Park, and I am an AT&T user, 2 bars…. The trees in this park are specimens, and are labeled on a ground stake. They were interesting. The beach area is sand & there are water devices to rent if your into that. I found this park more noisy than some other parks in the area. There is a boat ramp, so there are people launching boats all day.

Another Lake Havasu BLM site

Going north just past the Walmart on 95, there is a road that will take you to Craggy Wash. there are signs posted so that you know when you have driven the mile and can start looking for a campsite. I like this site better than the next BLM north, Lone Tree, because there are hummingbirds and little white crowned sparrows in the shrubs to watch. Not as much wind either and it is FREE for 14 days. Fairly clean & less Razor traffic too. No highway noise at all. I had plenty of places to park my Big Girl 30 footer. Pretty level sites.

Nice park by the Colorado River

Price was good, only 27.00 for electric/water. Only 3 of the many bathrooms had showers. Shower was hot & free. Nice staff. Places to swim & boat ramp. Beautiful trees & green lawns. Neighbor stated that the water wasn’t good, but I didn’t see any evidence of that. There is a bar & restaurant right next door. Great for big rigs & tents.

Good BLM site

Really good cell service with AT&T! I like that it is on an upper hillside. Clean, no trash, quiet & civil while I was here. I felt safe & comfortable. Easy to drive into coming from the south on 95. Low traffic noise. Nicely graveled. AND FREE!

One of the best!

I loved this park. The staff was friendly and the camp hosts were so helpful. I stayed for 7 nights at the A site, B site, and Ringtail Loop. A and B have back in’s and pull-thru’s, & water/electric. There is a dump station and several picnic areas, plus short hiking loops and horse trails. AND the VIEW of the Catalina mts is stunning!

Peaceful & Quiet evening.

Okay BLM site. Campsites are scattered along the dirt road. I have no idea how far the little narrow dirt road goes, but as long as you can find a place to park, I think your good. Quite dense with cactus and many of the sites are kind of pull throughs. Biosphere II is about 28 miles to the east, so it was a good spot to camp at for free and then drive to my tour in the AM.

The price is right!

Very nice spot on the California side of the Colorado river. No hookups, but nice tables & gravel lots. If you have your lifetime passport for American parks it’s only 2.50 a night! Can’t beat that! I loved the river and watching the duck, roadrunners, and quail. I didn’t however see any donkeys which was disappointing.

More desert camping

FREE dispersed camping sites behind the general Patton museum. One of the most peaceful places in the desert that I have camped. Good for a few nights, especially after driving through traffic in San Bernadino….😳
