Best RV Parks & Resorts near De Pere, WI

Apple Creek Campground in De Pere provides electric, water, and sewer hookups for RVs with sites accommodating big rigs. The campground features both pull-through and back-in sites on mostly grass surfaces with 30/50 amp electrical service. "Big rig friendly with gravel pads and each site comes with a picnic table and fire pit," noted one visitor about the area's campgrounds. Tranquil Timbers Camping Resort in Sturgeon Bay offers similar amenities with full hookup sites operating from May through mid-October, while Countryside Motel & RV Sites provides water and electric hookups but lacks a dump station. Most RV parks in the region maintain gravel parking pads rather than concrete, with varying degrees of site separation.

Seasonal availability presents a significant consideration for RV travelers in northeastern Wisconsin, with most parks operating from April through October. During peak summer weekends, advance reservations are strongly recommended as parks fill quickly, particularly those with waterfront access. Dump stations are available at most facilities except Countryside Motel & RV Sites, where according to one reviewer, "NO DUMP STATION AT ALL. No garbage dumpster. Water and electric only." Bay Shore Park offers more economical camping with water and electric sites for $20 per night, featuring generous spacing between sites despite lacking physical barriers. Cell service remains reliable throughout the region, with most parks permitting pets with standard leash restrictions.

    Brown County Reforestation Campground

    Big rig friendly

Great place to stay! Big rig friendly! Gravel pads and each site comes with a picnic table and fire pit. Bathrooms in the campground were clean and I believe there were showers.

    Mapleview Campground

Joyce and Stan make this place an Oasis

What a great little spot to visit. They have many sites in the field or in the woods. Most with electric 30/50 amp and a beautiful lake with many family friendly things to do. The people are friendly and they have clean showers and bathrooms along with laundry.

    High Cliff State Park Campground

    Escarpment

Grew up near here and used to backpack across Lake Winnebago to winter camp and hike in January when the park was empty and no mosquitos to chew on my butt.

Indian Burial Mounds, old kilns, trails, hills, observation deck, sledding in winter, and lots of other things to do all year round.

This Park is actually on an escarpment that winds around Lake Michigan all the way to Niagara Falls. Limestone cliffs for climbing on, scenic.

in the summer the lake gets green with algae and there is a summer stretch wherever the lake flies hatch and get thick.

Good park for families. Close to small towns for resupply. Appleton & Green Bay are within striking distance as is Lake Michigan.

Bring arctic survival gear in January...subzero temps with wind chills in the negative teens is normal. Fantastic cross country skiing/snowshoeing.

    Hickory Oaks Campground

    Hickory oaks

Very nice place to camp. Quite and friendly. Small but accommodates all types of campers. Has 30 and 50 Amp hookups. Tenting up to cabin, they have two. My second year long term camping here. On the edge of the city and close to everything.

    Sleepy Hollow Farms

    Convenient to the highway

General: There is both a north and a south part to this campground with a total of 178 sites. The sites in the south part are all on a grassy field and there is a small man-made lake with an inflatable play area. The sites in the north part are a mix of full hook-up and tent sites. There are also small cabins (only one of which has a bathroom) and three “condos”. These all had air-conditioners, but I did not see the inside of them. The north unit features a pond, which I was disappointed to discover was algae-filled and completely green.

Site Quality: Some are pull-through and some back-in. Some sites have electric and water hookups, some have picnic tables, and some have fire rings (but not all sites have all of these amenities). Only a handful have concrete pads; the rest are all on grass.

Our impression of Sleepy Hollow was influenced in part by the fact that it poured rain for much of our overnight stay. The roads were all dirt and with the rain, became very muddy along with the campsites as well. When leaving the next day, we had some challenges backing out of our site with the amount of mud. There is no clear delineation between the sites other than where the electric and water hookups are placed.

Bathhouse: Was very clean (in both the north and south units of the campground). Showers are available for a fee (five minutes for$1.00) but we did not use them so cannot comment on how well they worked.

Activities/Amenities: In the south unit, there is a small manmade lake with an inflatable play structure and plenty of life jackets. The color is a beautiful Caribbean blue, but it did not look natural, and I was not sure of the source of the color. We were there on a weekday in September, and no one was using the lake. There is a small bar and grill (in the north section) and a concession (south unit) on-site, but both were closed when we were there. Firewood was available (15 pieces for $10); we asked and were granted permission to use the golf cart to bring the wood to our site. Other than the lake, there really is nothing offered for recreation.

We chose this campground for its location; it is very close to Highway 41 in Oshkosh (you will hear road noise) and we were meeting family there. We checked in online the day before and arrived at 3:30 pm. No one was in the office when we arrived but the family members we were meeting had arranged for us to camp in the site next to them (not the original one we had selected). This campground is VERY close to EAA (Experimental Aircraft Association), and I imagine it would be completely full during the annual EAA convention. For us, it was a convenient location but aside from spending time with our family, the reason we chose this campground.

    Osh Vegas Palms

    Overnight

Easy Access. Grass Sites with easy entry for our 42 ft motor home without disconnecting our tow vehicle. 50 amp., water. And this small campground has great WiFi !

This is a small overnight spot (perhaps 20 spaces?) but the manager is incredibly helpfull and his positive friendly manner will have us stop in again if we find ourselves in the area.

There is an adjacent country road that was good for exercising our four legged camper.

There are two single restrooms and porta potties.

This is urban “camping” but with our Passport America discount(and the heatwave this summer) we find ourselves looking for places to “plug in” while we explore surrounding areas.

    Point Beach State Forest

    Great

Huge campground, and I guess we were lucky to snag a site mid week in August, as there were only two sites left when we arrived in the early afternoon.

You get a choice of electric or non electric. We paid $25 for a non-electric site (weekends are higher rate). You also have to pay the Wisconsin state park entry fee at $13/day for non residents, or $38 for an annual pass.

The dump station gets really backed up at the end of the weekend, so heads up.

Also, a portion of the beach is dog friendly, so if that’s important to you then try and get a site close to the dog friendly portion (south of the lighthouse), otherwise it’s a good mile walk from the other end of the campground to the dog area. Leashes required at all times, except for when the dog is actively frolicking in the water.

The concession stand here looks really nice, like a full service restaurant. Showers are nice and free. Water spigots throughout campground, or there’s a water fill at the dump station. There’s a little free library here too:)

Campground will be closed until May 24, 2024 for maintenance on the waterlines.
