Bryce Canyon RV Resort by Rjourney

    Great Location

Great location. Nice mountain views. Horses across the road. Mule deer out back occasionally. Small RV park with a lot of small cabins. RV spots are small, gravel, and pretty tight. Some sites are not very level. Fire pits and picnic tables. A few sites had a nice brick patio with table & chairs. 2 bars Verizon. Terrible WiFi that is provided by 3d party. Need to register. Keeps quitting.

Private showers and shared bathrooms. All very clean. Laundry: washers are $6.50!

A nice little playground, used pretty regularly by little ones. Lots of space to walk dogs out back. It’s right on main road but not too noisy.

We would stay there again if back in that area.

    Zion River Resort

    Cabin review

Check in was fast and smooth. Got the key and remote for the tv then head to the cabin that was around the way from the office/pool area. Sheets was provided for the queen bed but not the bunk beds. Which was fine because we were ready with our own sheets. Rest room and shower was right in front of our cabin, so we didn’t have to walk far. Good ac unit and lighting the with number of windows they got. Overall a great experience from our 1 night stay.

South Campground — Zion National Park

    Great campground

This campground is great for exploring Zion National Park. Each campsite has a fire pit and picnic table. There are restrooms with running water and electricity. Only a short walk from a shuttle station and Visitor’s Center. We also had deer around our campsite every morning and evening.

Water Canyon Cliffside Cabin L and L

Stunning views of the Canaan Mountains

I'm a team member at The Dyrt kicking off the review section with some info from the campground's website.

Water Canyon Cliffside offers a secluded wilderness experience. Each tent site has space for parking, a fire pit, and picnic table. They also have a mini cabin and a canvas tent available to stay in!

There are hiking trails within walking distance, mountain biking trails nearby, and Zion National Park is only an hour drive away!

Bryce View Campground — Kodachrome Basin State Park

Fantastic Views from the Bryce View Campground

We stayed in the Bryce View campground which has no hookups. We prefer boondocking spots because they typically have more space between campsites, and this is true in Kodachrome. Bryce View Campground is down a short dirt road and most sites are pull-throughs. If you need to use a generator, they are only allowed between the hours of 12pm to 4pm. Bryce View had vaulted toilets, water faucets, and a large trash bin. All sites had beautiful views but 52 and 56 appear to have the best. Our site was level and from what we could see most the other sites were equally level. Table and fire pits are available at all the sites. The max trailer length allowed is 20ft. Our trailer is 20ft and we had no issues maneuvering. The campground is quite and well maintained. If you prefer hookups the Basin Campground has what you are looking for. However, the sites are much closer together. Be aware when we used the Dump site it was awfully close to some of the Basin Campsites. The RV dump site has two stations and has potable and non-potable water. Showers and laundry facility are also available.

    Zion RV and Campground (Hi-Road)

    Hi-Road Campground (Zion)

Great campsite right down the road from Zion. Only about $45/night and you get clean nice showers and clean bathrooms. There’s free WiFi, laundry facilities, and a game room. Also a nice little restaurant within walking distance (right across the street). Several campsites to choose from - we picked a more secluded one (although it was very close to other sites and near the highway). Picnic tables, table, grill and fire rings at most sites. Access to showers and bathrooms and other amenities 24/7. Great place to stay and they say they always have spots open for last minute check-ins. Will definitely go back in the future and highly recommend!

Bryce Canyon RV Resort by Rjourney

    Okay for a KOA

We stayed in a cabin with four twin beds (two bunk beds) and one queen bed. It was a small two room cabin but it was quite cozy and cute. The bathroom were a bit of a walk from the cabins which was not ideal but they also had a basketball court that we played around on and had a good time.
It’s a bit dry a barren at the campsite but otherwise a nice place to stop.

Guide to Glendale

Cabin accommodations near Glendale, Utah provide convenient access to both Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks, sitting at elevations between 5,800 and 7,000 feet. The mountainous terrain creates temperature fluctuations ranging from 90°F summer days to below-freezing winter nights, with afternoon thunderstorms common during July and August. Most cabin rentals remain open year-round, though winter access may require four-wheel drive vehicles.

What to do

Horseback riding near cabins: Bryce Zion Campground offers easy access to equestrian activities with horses on-site. "Horses just feet away from you. The best part about this location is that it's between Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks," notes a visitor at Bryce Zion Campground.

Hiking from doorstep: Many cabins provide direct trail access for day hikes. "There is a stream and 2 mile hiking trail located in the camp," reports a camper staying at Bryce Zion Campground, making it easy to explore without driving to trailheads.

River access for cooling off: Cabin sites along the Virgin River offer natural water features. At Zion River Resort, one guest mentioned, "The cool Virgin River behind our site was a nice place to soak our tired feet and enjoy a beverage after hiking in Zion."

What campers like

Off-grid location for wildlife viewing: Camp Lutherwood of Utah provides secluded cabin options with frequent wildlife sightings. "Because it is deep in the woods, we have seen lots of wildlife. Deer will wander between rv's, and if you bring a snack to share you can pet them, so cool!!" reports one camper.

Seasonal temperature advantages: Higher elevation cabins offer relief from summer heat. At Bryce Zion Campground, a guest noted, "It's a higher elevations the Zion and anything around Kanab, makes for cooler nights."

Cabin affordability for budget travelers: Simple cabin accommodations offer savings compared to hotels. "My friend and I were going from Zion National park to Mesa Verde and this was a great place to stay on the way over. We got a cabin for $25 (cash or check only)," shared a Camp Lutherwood visitor.

What you should know

Seasonal amenities and closures: Some cabin facilities have limited seasonal operations. A camper at Mount Carmel Motel & RV Park noted their season runs "Mar 15 - Oct 31," making advance planning essential during shoulder seasons.

Proximity to tunnels and roads: Highway noise impacts some cabin locations. "Road noice but not the worst. Grocery store close. Small sites and close," reported a Mount Carmel Motel & RV Park visitor, highlighting the trade-off between convenience and tranquility.

Variable Wi-Fi and cell coverage: Digital connectivity fluctuates across the region. A camper at Zion River Resort observed, "There is virtually no cell signal in Virgin. Certainly not enough to even begin to create a hot spot. There is wifi (and we even had a booster on our site)...but there was still terribly connectivity."

Tips for camping with families

Choose cabins with built-in activities: Zion Ponderosa Ranch Resort offers numerous family-friendly amenities. "Horseback riding, putt putt golf, pad boards, cabins, tents and Rv sites," notes one visitor, listing the kid-focused options available.

Look for flexible sleeping arrangements: Multi-bed cabins accommodate different family sizes. "We slept with 5 people in each tent. The tents were accommodated with 4 beds (2 twin, 1 Queen, and 1 pull-out couch)," explained a family staying at Zion Ponderosa's glamping tents.

Consider cabin cleaning schedules: Bathroom cleanliness varies by location and time of day. "The bathrooms were cleaned every day at noon," reported a camper at Bryce Zion Campground, helping families plan shower times around cleaning schedules.

Tips from RVers

Cabin alternatives during extreme weather: Upgrading from RV sites to cabins can provide relief during heat waves or cold snaps. At Cliffside Cabins and RV Park, a visitor explained, "I arrived here in my truck camper to park for a week. It happened to be during a heat advisory, and my camper doesn't have AC. They gave me a shady spot, but temps climbed fast in my camper to over 100. I called them and they graciously upgraded my stay to a cool motel room."

Laundry availability and timing: RVers needing to refresh gear should note specific laundry hours. "Washing machines and dryers available, $3,-, between 4 p.m. an 10 p.m.," reported a camper at Mount Carmel Motel & RV Park, detailing the restricted hours.

Dump station access for non-guests: Some cabin campgrounds allow passing RVers to use facilities. "We stayed at Coral Pink for a weekend and found this place north right off hwy 89 on our way home. They let us use an unoccupied site to dump and clean out our tanks," shared a traveler about Cliffside Cabins and RV Park.
