    Tree Cabins RV Resort

A Spacious RV Park with ALL the Amenities

This quaint little RV park on the shores of the Llano River has a new name, Tree Cabins RV Resort, as they have little cabins around the perimeter in addition to RV spaces.  It's a pretty low key place, especially during the off-season.  The owners/managers are very responsive and helpful!

With just a few overnighters circling through the park, and a handful of seasonal residents this place served us well. Water, electricity, sewer, and strong-wifi were what we needed the weekend that we stayed as we needed to get some work done, do some online seminars, and there hadn't been much sun for our solar panel for about 4 days.  Decent price for all of the amenities provided, too!  And, we recharged before we left...always a plus!

While the many pull-through sites are a little stacked together, it’s not as close as some RV parks will push it. The bathroom amenities are very nice, clearly the work of someone whose been around the RV park world and wanted to rise above. The individual/ family bathrooms more closely resemble something you’d have in your house than in a campground. The facilities were very clean and well decorated, and the shower pressure/ temperature couldn’t be beat.

With a very short drive/walk to town for gas, groceries, etc. staying here makes a lot of sense, especially when the nearby Llano River State Park campground is full. The park offers lots of trails for hiking, biking, and birding.

Countryside RV Park Sonora - PERMANENTLY CLOSED

    Quiet and private

Extremely easy access from I-10. What was once a mobile home park is now a RV park. Full hookups, Desiree was wonderful. Starlink works great. We did have late night/early morning visitors. A herd of axis deer make the grounds their home. If you are passing through Sonora or visiting the Caverns of Sonora, it’s a great place to stop for the night. $35.00

    Highly HIGHLY recommend!!

We had a friends and family reunion of sorts here at the campgrounds for 5 days and it was the most amazing experience of our trip! We stayed in one of the cabins, a tiny home and utilized on RV hookup as well! So we got a picture of pretty much everything they offer. It was PERFECT to say the least! Water pressure was great! I have super thick hair and worry about being able to wash it thoroughly, but their bathrooms were just right! The AC's kept the cabin the perfect temperature for the hotter times of the day and at night or early mornings, you kept toasty warm. The grounds themselves were huge and you can set up a volleyball net as well as barbecue. If you wanted to lounge with other guests, you could in the common areas, or you can stick to yourselves as well, the place was so huge. The water was clear and cool and so very inviting! My son did cannon bombs of the cliff jump! Do not recommend that though:/... the women brought our inner tubes and laid out with our drinks soaking in the warm sun. Brandon and Sachi were the perfect hosts and I definitely plan on coming back year after year to experience this treasured place. Mahalo!

Nice & quiet - pretty too

Breaking in our new TAB 400 and wanted to stay somewhat local first time out. This campground is primarily RV spots- full hookups and some tent and cabin areas along the Guadalupe. Pull through a and back ins. Very quiet and nice location just outside of town (Kerrville, TX- recommend the Rails Cafe if you get tired of camp cookin’)

Not much privacy between the spots so expect conversations with friendly and like-minded neighbors. Bath- showers - laundry available tho it’s a bit of a walk to get to from just sites. Kayak - paddle board rentals available too.

A great time for Kids and Adults

Came down to Jellystone with some friends for a few nights, and had a blast!

The camp looks great. Full hook ups, and even available cabins for non campers. There is so much to do, from the water park (which is awesome), to the Guadalupe River, to the karaoke at the bar, the booze cruise around the park, the play grounds, candy bar bingo, movie night, ect..ect.. ect!!

The river is very shallow, with pools scattered throughout. We walked out until we found a nice pool to sit in, and relax.

Everyone at the park was super friendly from the campers to the staff.

Be sure you rent a golf cart to get around, cause the park is pretty spread out, and you'll get around comfortably. Cant wait to go back!

    Stadium RV Park

Camping in a neighborhood between houses and trailers

The RV Park isn't a park so much as it is just part of a neighborhood.  We made a reservation by phone the morning we were going to pass through Sonora on a trip east on I-10.  The park manager met us on a street corner in the neighborhood a few blocks off the main street, and guided us in his truck to two FHU spots in an empty lot between two houses.  The hookups worked fine, and the rate was inexpensive.

    Great Hill Country Hangout

We stayed here for a week and did some motorcycle day trips. Good base of operations for hill country adventures. Staff here are very friendly. Super clean, well-laid out RV park. Combination of pull-through and back-in sites. All sites are concrete with decent room between rigs. Hook ups are in good condition. There’s a nice playground, putting green, a stream for catch and release fishing. Good cell and streaming speeds on Verizon and AT&T. Set in the middle of 100-year-old pecan trees and miniature horses in the pasture. I deducted 1 star due to some road noise - not super loud but definitely noticeable.

    Great Biker Resort

2019 Ok, first the good. Large RV spots with full hookups. You won’t feel crowded when your parked beside your neighbor. The park has an awesome walking trail. If you want a good workout walk up to the Texas flag observation point. Folks mostly use the lower trail which is about half a mile trek. Up at the Flag you’ll see a beautiful scenic shot of the valley. The Wi-Fi was good at spot where we stayed, but there’s no phone service in the entire park. I understand that RVC Inc. bought the park a couple years ago. I noticed a few things already going downhill. for instance the Hot tub next to the pool is heated but no jets are working. I hope RVC Inc spends the money to fix this, otherwise it’s just a bathtub. They have a garden hose dribbling water into the hot tub 24/7. The Pool is not heated, so useless for winter Texans. but I’ll bet it’s just great in the summertime. See pics) Many of the lights on top of the electric posts were not working, so it’s dark out when you take your dog for that last walk before bedtime. They have a great Office/Store and a restaurant (closed during winter months) They have a pool and shuffleboard tables and outdoor dining tables. Great Biker stop to cool down with a cold one. RVC inc does require a background check ($40) for each person planning on an extended stay. We did a month

We loved this campground. Lots of places to walk & saw wildlife every day. Restrooms were clean & very nice. The washers are bigger than a lot of RV parks too.  The staff is very friendly & accommodating. We extended our stay 3 times!  If you're in the Texas hill country, this is definitely the place to stay.

    Awesome

It is August in Texas, very hot, we have to have shade and water to camp. This has it all. Our site had lovely cottonwood trees and right on the small branch of the river. Walk across small rapids and crystal clear water to another side of the park with access to the main river for canoeing, kayaking, you name it.
There are several small walking trails. Three separate sections... rv full service, rv water/elec., tents. All lovely. Don’t like river water... check out the pool ❤️. Also lots of birds! All the sights and sounds of Texas camping. We watched the ducks fly in every evening, along with a lovely blue heron. Turtles have their own little island. We watched the bats swarm the evening sky eating their fill. Then we were visited by lightning bugs. The frogs will sing to you all night. Suggest a prime spot... slightly more but larger and lots of room to spread out! Lovely people, very attentive, very very clean! We will return!

You get what you pay for

For $30 a night this is a decent campground.  We enjoyed our stay, but I'm not sure that I would pick this place compared to a campsite along Frio River if I had to choose.

The road leading to your campsite is gravel and windy.  There is not a place to check in, you just drive directly to your campsite.  I'm not sure how well a 30-40 foot camper would fair going down the trail to the best sites by the water.

We stayed at site 5 which is a really nice location with views of the river.  You have to walk down the road and to the water but it's not far.  Sites 1 and 5 have trails leading to the bathroom.  The downside to this is that people would walk through your campsite to get to the water.  The trail leading to the bathroom is made of rocks and a little steep.

Sites 31-38 are more out in the open and do not have shade.

The river is warm and somewhat clear.  There is a little ledge that your kiddos can jump off into the water.  The RV park also has kayaks you can rent.

There is not a store in the park.

Covered picnic tables at each site!

Several options on campsites here. Sites with water and electricity, walk in sites and primitive hike in sites.

Even though we were tent camping we grabbed a site with water and electricity. All sites that we saw had covered areas that had picnic tables. Level site to set up our tent. A bit rocky but nothing horrible.

The options for hiking were pretty nice and wildlife was heard and see all over during our night stay. Everything from armadillos to wild hogs that we heard off in the distance. Hares and tons of different birds to check out. They even offer bird blind areas for the enthusiastic birdwatchers.

A few trails were closed off during our visit for the wild turkeys.

Folks in the park office were extremely knowledgeable and eager to offer suggestions and ideas as we were road tripping through TX.

Deer everywhere with two feeders on either end of sites that really bring them in during the morning and evening. River at the back of sites with fish.
The owners live in a house on the property and are extremely nice. Very peaceful and quiet.

Beautiful Park, but complete dead zone for wireless

Spent a couple night here in July. Beautiful park! The river is crystal clear and very inviting on a hot summer day. The Rv spots were well kept, the bathrooms/showers were clean, and the park was pretty quite in the evenings. There are Lots of hiking trails to explore, but they can only be taken on bicycle for 1 mile, per the rules. Overall, its a great park with beautiful scenery. I would love to see the trees turn in the fall.

The only drawback, is that its in a complete deadzone for cellular. I had absolutely zero service on my cellphone, antenna Tv, or wifi/4g. (Altho, thats not always a bad thing)

Be prepared for emergencies if you hike the trails tho.

There is a general store about 4 miles up the road from the park entrance that has free wifi, if you need to download/update offline maps for your gps, and just get some work done before you go back to relax in the park.

    Tent Only Sites are Great!

We found this place by accident. It's a city park that has rodeos or something. So they have a lot of "agritourism" stuff around. There are two rings of RVs spots. They have full hookups and cost $30 a night. Free and amazing wifi. Laundry is 1.50 to wash and 1.50 to dry. Showers. They claim $5 for non-camper showers and $25 for non-camping dumping. It's all a pay box though so….

We stayed in the tent only section. We were very impressed. This section is in the far back of the park, closest to the nature trail. It's a large area to accommodate a lot of tents but there are only 3 electricity poles. All tent sites are only$10/night even if you use electricity. The bathrooms have 3 stalls and a couple showers. Very spacious considering. We camped during the winter and were the only tent campers. They have a baseball field and other things through the back end of the park so you do have some local kid traffic. But it was mostly quiet. Lots and lots of deer.

The camp host is in the first ring across from the laundry so you are the furthest away in the tent sites. That being said, they came by a couple times to check on us while we were unpacking and hanging out outside the tent. Seemed very nice.

There is a rundown playground in the main park and there is a newer playground in the middle of the baseball fields. We were here for a week with a 3 year old and we stayed mostly on the property.

Security wise- there are streetlights on everywhere. I don't know if they are on all night(it's possible…we go to bed at 9pm) so you won't have a true"camping" experience of star gazing but you can peek out your tent if needed. Just make sure you have darkrest or something so the lights don't keep you up.

Cleanliness- it was not busy at all so I can't attest to how it is when it is busy but I don't think I saw a single piece of trash anywhere. Each bathroom stall had clean trashcans with empty bags. And there are lots of trash cans throughout the park and people seemed to use them.

Sheriff Visit - I wasn't offended at all by this but it's worth noting that someone called the police because they were concerned about us. I'm guessing they saw my 3 year old and thought we might be homeless?? Anyway, a very nice Sheriff came by our tent and asked us if we needed help. It was I can only imagine a very typical welfare visit. He asked questions about heat so I pointed out the electricity poles. So if nothing else, you have some nosey people that might be worried enough to call the cops to check on you if you use the tent sites.
