Best Dog-Friendly Camping near Daingerfield, TX

Daingerfield State Park Campground allows pets throughout its hiking trails, camping areas, and scenic lakeside settings. All campsites feature fire rings and picnic tables where dogs can rest beside owners while enjoying the towering pine forest environment. The park's clean, well-maintained campsites accommodate tents, RVs with full hookups, and pet-friendly cabins. Four-legged visitors particularly enjoy the 2.5-mile trail encircling the lake, providing ample exercise opportunities for both pets and their owners. Pets on leashes no longer than 6 feet must be supervised at all times, and owners should bring waste bags as specific pet waste stations are limited. The park's multiple camping loops offer varying levels of privacy, with Big Pine sites providing lakeside views where dogs can observe wildlife.

Several other pet-friendly options exist near Daingerfield, including Hope Springs RV Campground, which welcomes pets with spacious, double-sized pull-through sites and walking spaces in the back acreages and piney woods. Lake Bob Sandlin State Park Campground, just a short drive away, also permits dogs throughout its facilities with similar leash requirements. When camping with pets in this region, owners should be aware that fire ants and chiggers are common in wooded areas, so staying on paved pathways helps protect paws. Most campgrounds in the area enforce quiet hours to minimize barking disturbances. The region's mild climate makes spring and fall ideal for camping with dogs, though summer visits require extra water provisions and shade awareness for pet safety. Local veterinary services are conveniently located near the Hughes Springs post office for emergency situations.

    Ramblin Fever RV Park

    Close to Restaurants and Shopping

I stayed for 4 nights from a Thursday through Monday. The owner is very nice and helped me with choosing a drive thru site. It is well maintained. Mix of long term and short stay resident s. It is near a busy arterial highway so it's not especially quiet. The hookups worked great. I was two spots from the very front of the park. I used Passport America pass for my first 3 nights. I felt safe. It is very pet friendly. Keep dogs on leash and clean up after them. I have 3 black labs. No fenced dog park yet, so I drove them to the city park with tennis courts every morning to run free. I will most likely stay here again. I mostly boondock in the forests, but when I need a place to resupply and take care of business needs, this place is very nice.

    Tyler State Park Campground

    One of our favorite parks

I should mention that my husband is from Canada. He was very unenthusiastic about camping in Texas. Well Tyler State Park made him change his mind! He LOVED the large trees, said it was the closest he'd felt to home in quite some time. We love the variety of types of sites they offer. Lake front, group, hike in, cabin, they have something for everyone! Only downfall is they book so quickly.

    Antique Capital RV Park

    Gladewater, TX

Pull thru, level, concrete pad. Swimming pool & fishing lake. Very little shade. No dog park but lots of green walks for the pups. Great spot if you love antiquing! Gladewater has many, many, many antique shops. Campground staff is very nice and accommodating.

Texarkana RV Park & Event Center

    Not impressed

Made reservations for a back in site. Upon check in, nobody was in the office. Called the number on the door and was directed to park in the pull-through immediately at the entrance. Gate is broken and doesn’t close, nobody at the check in, RIGHT off the highway. Didn’t feel safe. Very loud. Playground area was very old and not maintained. “Dog park” was a 6ft x 6ft chain link square. Lots of permanent lots that are kind of gross. There is a new Love’s hookup & Sunrise RV parks nearby— will be using those in the future! Will not be back.

    Tyler State Park Campground

    Options Galore!

This is my favorite state park in Texas! Lots of options for all kinds of campers. For camping, lots of different sites available for RVs/Campers, Tents, etc. some along the lake, some in the woods, and also cabins and shelters available! Hiking options vary from a nature stroll, to some more serious up-downs through the hills on the outskirts of the campground. Bring your friends, family, and pets, there is truly something for everyone here, even kayak and canoe rentals at the lake!

    Texarkana KOA

    Nasty

Te office is nasty dirty has a moldy smell. The bathhouse has mold on shower curtains no soap to wash hands problem flushing toilet.  There was wires zip tied to lady's side . No security after hours and no way to get help after lady leaves at 5. The dog park had poop everywhere and other campers had dogs running off chain. No lights at night was very scary the back of park was awful.  Grass and weeds growing up needs a major clean up and maintenance!!! The playground is near drains that child could fall and very outdated and ran down. Wifi was very poor to say less

    Caddo Lake State Park Campground

    Pretty but loud

The facilities were great. Clean and well kept. The site that we stayed at (#34) was too close to the main road and the noise from the cars was so loud, which led to an awful nights sleep. Also there was a cat (seemed like a camp cat) that roamed around all night and that freaked out my dog. The lake itself was fantastic and otherworldly. Absolutely beautiful in early November. Definitely gonna visit again but will not camp here.

    Boondock Free for 10 Days

I found this location because I needed a free spot for a few days for a medical appointment. It is within about 5 miles of Mount Pleasant, TX. Not far from Walmart, Home Depot, and other shopping and restaurants. It's primitive boondocking, but pretty nice and clean. Psrk next to the Water. Boating, fishing, BBQ, and group camping is allowed. Pet friendly on leash.
