    Piney Point

    Nice clean COE campground

Nice well spaced sites with level concrete pads. Lots of trees for shade in most sites. Beautiful views from the sites on the bluff. It has been quiet every time we were there . Playground ,boat ramp , nice clean showers and rest room. the staff has always been helpful. Most sites are water and electric but there may be some with full hookups . If not , there is a dump station . Very family friendly . No swimming area , but at my age that is not a big deal.

    The Bluffs RV Park

Quick stay in a cute campground!

We came in town for a fishing tournament and stayed at this small campground with a lot of cute amenities! Close to boat ramp, 5 min walk to the lake, full hookups, good water pressure, fire pits, gavel sites, concrete pads for wooden picnic tables, small grills, dog run, horseshoes, laundry hut and free firewood! Right off the highway and good phone reception.

    Johnson Creek Camp

Beautiful place on Lake 'O the Pines, but crowded campsites

I stayed here for five nights in mid-March. The campground is a mix of tent/RV loops and has multiple boat ramps into Johnson Creek which feeds into Lake 'O the Pines. I was in site E210 (RV area 2). Place was packed over the weekend, cleared out quite a bit during the week. I check out all four RV loops, and it's one of the most crowded COE campgrounds I've seen (and I've seen a lot). Site spacing in pretty close, but slightly better than commercial parks. I lucked out on E210, it was a pull-through that perched overlooking the lake. It was among the more private sites. Fairly level sites in loops, some asphalt, some concrete. Water/Elec, picnic pad and table and fire rings at all sites. I would definitely recommend and go back but pick your sites carefully if you want privacy - think Google satellite view or Google Earth. Pretty decent cell signal for Verizon, so-so for ATT.

    Ramblin Fever RV Park

    Close to Restaurants and Shopping

I stayed for 4 nights from a Thursday through Monday. The owner is very nice and helped me with choosing a drive thru site. It is well maintained. Mix of long term and short stay resident s. It is near a busy arterial highway so it's not especially quiet. The hookups worked great. I was two spots from the very front of the park. I used Passport America pass for my first 3 nights. I felt safe. It is very pet friendly. Keep dogs on leash and clean up after them. I have 3 black labs. No fenced dog park yet, so I drove them to the city park with tennis courts every morning to run free. I will most likely stay here again. I mostly boondock in the forests, but when I need a place to resupply and take care of business needs, this place is very nice.

    Governor Jim Hogg RV Park

    RV camping

The camping area is mostly occupied by long term RV campers. Many of the campers are employed in the nearby areas. Grounds offer water/electric/sewer hookups, there are also toilets available but no showers. The RV grounds are part of the city park which offers a splash pad (seasonal), large playground, pavilion, picnic areas, arboretum, and a short hiking trail (approximately one third of a mile). The RV sites are backed up by the sheriff's office/county jail the courthouse is down the road, and there is a police department across the street. This isn't to suggest that the area is dangerous, its a small town and everything is pretty much right there. Shopping and restaurants are within walking distance.

Lake Fork, a popular fishing lake is within a ten minute drive. Lake Quitman is less than ten minutes, generally this is where water sport activities occur. Pets are welcome.

    Buffalo Bayou RV Park

    Not what we expected

Made a reservation via telephone for two days a month in advance, but was not given a site number. When we pulled up to the office there was a note with a telephone number to call, but no answer. I saw a gentleman walking around and it appeared he saw us. After waiting about 10 minutes, I decide to driver further into the park. The gentleman I saw earlier was one of the owners/ managers, I would would have expected him to go to the office to meet the newly arriving guests. I will say that he was friendly enough and later, his wife stopped by to collect the fee and she too was friendly. The park itself has full hook ups and is on the banks of the bayou. The campground require you to sign a waiver because of the water moccasins from the bayou and because of the potential of falling tree limbs. The. Campground is pretty sandy so leveling may be problematic for big rigs. The do allow long term guests to store all kinds of equipment and gear, the site next to us look like a junk yard. Our fellow campers seemed friendly enough with the gentleman on the other side from the junk yard introducing himself.

Texarkana RV Park & Event Center

    Great park, but tight spots.

Texarkana RV Park is a very nice, clean, and friendly RV park. They have a gated entrance for extra security. The park has nice amenities such as pool, playground, laundry, restrooms, dog run, and park-like setting with duck pond. Most sites are pull-thru and plenty long, but narrow. Beware of your slide placement before parking, as site poles may be in the way of a slide fully opening. Each site is gravel with a patio and they have 50 amp FHU. We enjoyed our stay at this campground and would definitely stay again. 👍🏻😊

    Buckhorn Creek

    Popular Campground

We arrived about 3:30 PM and check in was quick and easy. We proceeded to back-in site E139 with water& 50/30 AMP. The signage to our area had a R in front of the site numbers but all the site numbers on the posts have an E in front of them, so be aware of this discrepancy if coming in late. Back-in was easy on to the narrow pad that was long enough for our 39’ 5th wheel and F-450 truck parked in front, but not by much. There was a very nice deck with the fire pit/bbq nicely placed right off the deck. Site 140 next to us with the other deck is actually a pull through double site. Longest sites in this area of the CG are 109- 113. Other sites had short pads so be sure to check the length when you reserve. All of the pads in the CG looked fairly level. We got 2 bars on Verizon and a handful of OTA channels. With the amount of trees in the CG satellite could be iffy. Water pressure was okay at around 35 psi. The CG also had a separate and very nice tent area near the playground. They were remodeling the main restroom/shower so it was closed during our stay, but there was another facility in each RV area(100 and 200) that had toilets and a shower but were older and in need of updating. We stayed over the weekend and the CG was very busy. We enjoyed the great water view from the deck on our site during our 4 night’s stay.

Guide to Daingerfield

Northeastern Texas camping options near Daingerfield feature a mix of lakeside and wooded sites at 300-400 feet elevation. The region experiences hot summers with temperatures regularly exceeding 90°F and mild winters, with occasional freezing temperatures from December through February. Most campgrounds remain open year-round due to the generally moderate climate conditions.

What to do

Fishing opportunities: Lake Bob Sandlin provides excellent fishing access from Twin Lakes RV Resort, where many sites offer direct lake access. "We had a great stay. This site was conveniently located to all the great amenities. There are so many fun things to do at this resort!" reports Mark G.

Kayaking and water recreation: The calm waters around Barefoot Bay Marina and RV Park create ideal conditions for paddling. "Great for kayaking, fishing and just relaxing on the lake. There is a great hiking trail by the marina!" notes Tammie L.

Antique shopping excursions: The Gladewater area, about 40 miles south of Daingerfield, offers numerous antique shops within easy driving distance of campgrounds. As Jo from Antique Capital RV Park confirms: "Great spot if you love antiquing! Gladewater has many, many, many antique shops."

What campers like

Lakefront views: Sites along Lake Bob Sandlin provide scenic waterfront camping. "A little cramped with the space between campers but the backyards for each lake view site makes up for it and it was a beautiful view, lots of space for the kids to play," shares Charlie H. about his stay at Barefoot Bay Marina.

Double-sized sites: The extra-large pull-through sites at Hope Springs RV Campground allow for comfortable setup and outdoor living space. "The RV sites are double sized and pull through. Wifi is available and there is a cell phone tower across the street, so its terrific 5g signal," reports Luann K.

Weekend entertainment options: Several parks offer organized activities to enhance the camping experience. Jeremy H. from Barefoot Bay Marina notes: "They have Karaoke across the street every Friday and live music every Saturday. Sites that back right up to great water views and access to fishing."

What you should know

Terrain considerations: Many campgrounds in the area feature uneven sites that may require leveling equipment. "Sites are not very level and they have full hookup, but other than that this is a great spot!" advises Tammie L. about Barefoot Bay Marina.

Highway proximity: Some campgrounds like Ramblin Fever RV Park are located near busy roads, which affects ambient noise levels. "It is near a busy arterial highway so it's not especially quiet. The hookups worked great," explains Luann K.

Wildlife awareness: Local insects can be problematic in certain areas, particularly during warmer months. "The property has lots of fire ants and chiggers, so stay on paved areas," warns Luann K. about Hope Springs RV Campground.

Tips for camping with families

Lake access points: When camping with children, prioritize sites with safe water entry. "Sandy spots to swim from at various entry points. Friendly people and several kids that run around playing, making friends," shares Jeremy H. from Barefoot Bay Marina.

Public recreation alternatives: Consider campgrounds near community facilities. "I drove them to the city park with tennis courts every morning to run free," explains Luann K. about taking her dogs from Ramblin Fever RV Park to nearby public spaces.

Shade availability: Summer temperatures demand consideration of tree cover. Ryan B. from Antique Capital RV Park advises: "Each site has a shade tree but other than that, not much shade."

Tips from RVers

Amenity verification: Not all parks offer complete facilities, so confirm specifics before arrival. "The campsite has bathrooms/showers/laundry facilities, however they could use some work," notes Amy C. about Barefoot Bay Marina.

Extended stay options: Several parks accommodate longer-term camping at reduced rates. "We recently bought property near Mt Pleasant and came to work on it. Stayed for a week for $150. 30/50 amp hook ups, sewer and water. Laundry $2 a load," explains James B. from Ramblin Fever RV Park.

Site features: The Bluffs RV Park offers specific amenities that enhance the camping experience. "Full hookups, good water pressure, fire pits, gravel sites, concrete pads for wooden picnic tables, small grills, dog run, horseshoes, laundry hut and free firewood!" reports Natalie S.
