Edgar Evins State Park Campground accommodates pets at all campsites with standard leash requirements. Located on Center Hill Lake, this year-round destination offers tent sites, RV spots, and pet-friendly cabins with full hookups including water, electric, and sanitary dump stations. Four Corners Resort and Marina provides lakefront camping with dedicated pet amenities including a dog park and dog washing station upon exiting the swimming beach. Rock Island State Park Campground, Old Stone Fort State Archaeological Park, and Fall Creek Falls State Park all maintain pet-friendly policies throughout their facilities. Most campgrounds require pets to remain on leashes no longer than 6 feet, with owners responsible for waste cleanup. The dog park at Four Corners features attractive pet waste stations spaced throughout the grounds.

Center Hill Lake's shoreline offers multiple pet-accessible camping options with water activities for dogs. Floating Mill Campground provides direct lake access where pets can swim in designated areas away from boat traffic. Trails at Fall Creek Falls accommodate leashed dogs with scenic hiking routes to waterfalls and overlooks. Manchester KOA features a fenced dog park allowing off-leash exercise. Campgrounds typically limit pets to two per site, particularly at Army Corps of Engineer maintained properties like Floating Mill. Temperature considerations become important during summer months when asphalt camping pads can become too hot for pet paws. Most bathhouses remain off-limits to pets, though dedicated pet washing stations exist at select locations. Wildlife encounters require keeping pets secured to prevent chasing local fauna.

      Relaxing but small spaces

Pros: The staff are all incredibly friendly. We loved interacting with them (especially Eric!) during our stay. The laundry and bathrooms are very clean and spacious. The staff will come around and collect your trash for you (which isn’t necessary but a nice plus!) The location is directly off the highway and close to stores if you need a late night run for anything. The dog park was cute and offered a lot of extras. The heated pool was nicely taken care of and would be fantastic for the summer season. The camp store had lots of necessities and cute decor plus a dvd rental library and a pizza place onsite!

Cons: There was a massive cell phone tower within walking distance from our RV. Literally on the property of the RV park behind their utility shed and next to the playground. The highway traffic is quite loud. The campsites are very close together! The playground and fun type amenities in the back of the park weren’t kept up very well it seemed. A lot of the stuff was missing or broken.

      Nashville Shores Lakeside Resort

      Fun, clean, quiet

This campground was very convenient for those visiting the Nashville area, its just off the highway and they offer shuttles for a fee to downtown and opryland. The check in process was quick and simple, the staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. Our campsite was easy to find and very clean. The shower house was one of the best I've seen mostly because it is air conditioned. The showers are all very private and clean with plenty of room. The waterpark is just steps away, I would suggest not eating food within the park it is over priced and not very tasty, go to the marina restaurant or eat at your campsite. They have a dog park to exercise your dogs and you can't beat the views. I would recommend this campground.

      Four Corners Resort and Marina

      Lakefront camping at its best!

Four Corners RV resort is a fantastic find just 21 miles South of Nashville. We paid a weekly rate of $879 including taxes and fees for a back in waterfront site. We have fantastic water views from both sides of the coach. The pads are all concrete, wide sites, include a fire ring and picnic table. They have several fishing and boating docks. They have a dog park and a swimming beach with dog bath upon exiting the beach. They also have a nice adult pool and a large kiddie pool. They have a lot of Canadian Geese which are fun to watch but leave their droppings everywhere. The campground is very dog friendly with a lot of dog litter bags and trash cans throughout the campground. This campground is a great staging place for visiting numerous sites in Nashville. We like this campground and really have enjoyed the water views, we recommend this campground and will be back.

      Love this place

I stayed in spot 8 during the Coronavirus lockdown. The staff is very friendly. It’s near I-24 which makes getting places easy. It will be noisy if you are sound sensitive. It is well maintained. The laundry room is great. You can get anything you need from the store. Perfect pull through sites for a big rig overnight stop. Great sites with picnic table, fire pits for longer stays. Nice pool, sparkling clean restrooms. The dogs loved the dog park. The amenities for kids are great. Highly recommend.

      Nashville Shores Lakeside Resort

      Awesome for families

This place is great! There is a lake with all sorts of water craft to rent. There is a high water park as part of the complex (separate fee). All sites have full hookups including cable. All roads are paved. All sites are level. There is even a dog park so your 4 legged family members can run free too.

      Nashville KOA Resort

      Good campground, close to everything

Site wasnt great and had to level rig a bit. Patio was small and not well kept. Cable and Wi-Fi were great. Amenities also nice. Dog park and laundry were very small. Shuttle to downtown very convenient. Very expensive for gravel site with small patio. Staff all seemed friendly.

      Nashville KOA Resort

Just as good the second time through

This was our second time staying here during the pandemic. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and all employees were masked when indoors. We decided to try a back-in spot (R12) along the wall that separates the KOA from the RV campground next door. Nice and quiet, adequate shade during the day, and right next to the dog park! 5 bars of 5Ge on AT&T and the campground WiFi was good enough to get some work done.

This is without a doubt one of the nicest KOA’s we’ve visited. We would absolutely stay here again.

      Two Rivers Campground

      Great CG in Nashville

We spent two nights here (May 24-26, 2022). This is a nice, easy access CG with level pull through and back-in gravel sites in Nashville. It is located within a loop of the Cumberland River, between two RV dealer/repair facilities and surrounded by two RV CGs- it’s a busy area. There are a number of activities available: live music, swimming pool, recreation hall, playground and dog park. We did not make use of the laundry, bathrooms or showers. It is a great base camp to visit the Nashville (Grand Ole Opry) area. The WiFi was great as was cell phone reception. The cable TV worked well. We would stay here again.

      Nicer than before

We have stopped here several times in the past when it was a KOA. The new owners have fixed it up. The roads are still gravel but in better shape, the pads are nicer, and there is more room between sites. 30/50 amp electric, water & sewer. Lots of trees, there is a big dog park. The pool was closed when we were there. Bathrooms and showers were nice, but dated. Tent sites, cabins. Lots of road noise!

    Guide to Woodbury

Woodbury, Tennessee sits at approximately 700 feet elevation in the eastern Highland Rim region, characterized by rolling hills and limestone formations. Summer temperatures average in the high 80s with moderate humidity. Most campgrounds in this area offer year-round camping with peak seasons from April through October, when water activities and hiking trails are most accessible.

    What to do

Hike to waterfalls: Rock Island State Park Campground features multiple waterfall hikes within a short distance of camping areas. "Great hikes and random places to jump into the water," notes Alicia F., while another visitor mentions "The hiking trails are well maintained so hiking to the three waterfall's inside the park is a mild hike."

Historical exploration: Old Stone Fort State Archaeological Park offers educational opportunities with Native American history. "This park is known for its archeology, but don't miss the beautiful waterfalls," writes Nancy R. The park includes interpretive displays explaining why "Native Americans considered this area spiritually significant."

Fishing spots: Center Hill Lake provides excellent fishing opportunities from multiple access points. "We could see and hear the lake from our campsite," reports Emily W. about her primitive camping experience at Edgar Evins State Park Campground. Floating Mill and Ragland Bottom also offer direct water access for anglers.

Bird watching: Cedar forests and mixed woodlands support diverse bird populations. "Sitting on your 'deck' overlooking the water would be plenty for many people just enjoying the moment," explains Shelly S. about the quiet observation opportunities at Floating Mill.

    What campers like

Platform sites: The unique construction at Edgar Evins State Park creates distinctive camping experiences. "We love the platform sites that are so spacious and private. Easy access to dump station and bath houses. Almost all sites have view of water," shares Betheny.

Wooded campsites: Cedars of Lebanon State Park Campground offers densely wooded sites that provide natural privacy. "The spots are decently spaced apart with many trees," notes Laura C., while another camper mentioned "We had a nice clean site...It had a fire pit, grill and picnic table."

Clean facilities: Consistently maintained bathhouses receive positive mentions. At Rock Island State Park, a camper observed "Shower and toilets were clean and well kept," while another noted "The bathrooms were clean and in great shape."

Water access: Ragland Bottom features excellent lake access directly from camping areas. "The lakefront sites all have water access right from the site, so you can launch a kayak, or throw out a line, or just go for a swim right from your site," explains Nate H.

    What you should know

Site selection matters: At Edgar Evins State Park, platform sites vary significantly in quality and space. "Some of the sites just don't have a lot of room, especially around the fire pit and bbq. But there are a couple gem spots if you scout before you book," advises Myke C.

Weather considerations: Flash flooding can occur in low-lying areas during heavy rains. At Floating Mill Campground, "The sites are gravel pads that flood when it rains," notes one visitor.

Reservation timing: Many campgrounds fill quickly, especially during summer months. For Ragland Bottom, one camper advises "The campground is right on Center Hill lake, and the lake is really nice and clean! We stayed on site 10, and had the perfect lake front spot! I know that sites 1-15 are all lakefront sites with electricity and water, and they book up fast."

Highway noise: Manchester KOA offers convenient access but with some traffic sound. "The main downfall is that the campground is close to the interstate (noise). But, it is a close distance to any store/food if you need to make a run," reports Kayla L.

    Tips for camping with families

Swimming options: Rock Island State Park offers multiple water access points. "The nearby swimming beach was great for the kids. Many short hiking options available," explains Christy E. about the tent-only loop area.

Playground facilities: Fall Creek Falls State Park provides extensive recreation options beyond hiking. "There's tons to do from hiking, to swimming, waterfall gazing, rock climbing, ziplining, and much more. The park itself has a scenic loop drive of the gorge, multiple waterfalls to visit, miles on end of hiking trails," shares a visitor.

Educational opportunities: Floating Mill - Center Hill Lake offers wildlife viewing that appeals to children. "We had deer in our site everyday," notes one camper, while others mention spotting blue herons and various waterfowl along the shore.

Seasonal events: Several campgrounds host special weekend activities during holiday periods. At Cedars of Lebanon, one camper specifically mentioned "their halloween weekend is a great time of fun for the kids!"

    Tips for RVers

Site leveling considerations: Many campgrounds in the region have uneven terrain. At Fall Creek Falls, campers should "Pay attention to grades of sites when booking, you might need extra supports to level out."

Navigating platform sites: Edgar Evins State Park presents unique challenges for RVs with its platform design. "The sites are tiered and you will get a workout if your walking from one level to the next," notes one reviewer, while another mentions "Be wary of the speed bumps throughout the campground, they are closely spaced and rather abrupt, take them very slowly."

Pull-through options: Campsites designed for easier RV access can be found at several locations. At Old Stone Fort State Archaeological Park, "We had nice paved pad. The picnic table was located behind the camper. There is a cool bridge that is a single lane that you cross on to go over to the campground."
