Piney Campground is now open year round and offers 384 well-defined lake front and wooded sites with 283 electrical hookups, 44 sites with electric, water, and sewer, and 57 primitive sites. Most sites are capable of handling large motor homes and campers. Campers have access to modern facilities, including a swimming beach area, archery range, ball field, bike trails, a campfire theater, hiking trails, two boat ramps, and a fishing pier. Piney also has 9 primitive cabins available for nightly rental. In addition, the summer season offers daily recreation programs for all ages. Since 1973 in mid-September Piney holds its popular Camper’s Fair with a variety of activities including a campers’ flea market and dealer showcase of new RVs, fifth wheels, and motorhomes. Campers should be aware that there is very limited, if any, cell service available in the Pin Oak campground area.

Most sites have great views of Lake Barkley! Large camp store with a restaurant that serves sandwiches, pizza, beer and sodas... Golf cart rentals and the marina has boat rentals. Full hookups on most sites including cable, and lakeside sites have the “honey wagon” that comes around to empty tanks. WiFi is pretty ok. Cell reception is good. Cabin rental and seasonal sites available.

GuideA friend and I and our 4 kids stayed in a camper cabin here in September. We normally tent camp but it was a weekend with record heat. I love this campground as an alternative to Hillman Ferry, where we have often stayed. The cabins were clean and comfortable with cold AC, the hosts were friendly and the no-wake lake and canoe rentals were fun. I would advise checking with the hosts about canoe and kayak rentals upon check in, there is limited availability when camp is full and hot weather can also affect. This campground is also in a good location to explore all LBL has to offer when compared to Hillman, it's closer to the Elk and Bison Prairie and Wranglers Campground, as well as the Nature Station, which is great for us since we like to trail ride and hike. Downfall is the beach is muddy and rocky and the playground is old with just a metal slide and swings. We didn't want to swim here so maybe plan on doing that elsewhere at the lakes. Next time we will camp, likely on loop D, which had some nice lakeview sites. You can't see the water from the cabin loop. There is spotty cell service throughout the campground.

Paris Landing State Park has about 70 campsites, most with water and electric hookups, but it is not easy to fine a level site. (There are 18 “primitive campsites” with no service. My brother stayed at one of their cabins.) The campground is in a hardwood forest, so there is lots of shade. Plus, it is right on Kentucky Lake, so there is swimming, fishing and boating. There is a pool and golf course. There is canoeing nearby.

We’ve stayed in a cabin twice at this campground. The second time we booked a one room cabin. They had us in their system for a 2 bedroom cabin (which we had the first time we stayed there.) I proved to them I booked a 1 bedroom cabin & it was their mistake to assign us to a higher priced 2 bedroom cabin. Since all the cabins were booked for the night we couldn’t switch to a one bedroom. They would not refund the difference. I called KOA corporate office and the person I talked to was able to see in their computer system what I was talking about. However each campground is an independent business and it was up to each campground to decide how to conduct their business. To me the proper thing to do was to let me have the two bedroom cabin for the one room cabin price. Convenient location.

This campground has become our favorite. The campground is amazing, the bathrooms are cleaned everyday on weekends and every other day during the week. Completely cleaned!
The site has 77 sites full hook-up with sewage. Every site has grill, fire pit, table and lantern hook. We were #38 it was easy to back into and pretty level. The campground also have small cabins with bunk beds to rent. There is no indoor water just beds, electric and air for a great price. There is a small swimming area too at Pin Oak.
There are a few lakes in the area. Pin Oak is the only motor lake. Cub lake has a larger swim area with paddle boat, Jon boat and kayak rentals. The rentals are only weekends. Browns Creek Lake also has honest system rentals of Jon boat but for fishing purposes only and you have to pay for a lake permit.
The park is great! Lexington is close for quick runs for anything you need. We loved this park so much we may be changing our family BBQ to this park next year.

First of all, clearly there are many great reviews listed for this business on Google, but it seems to be the majority are simply reviews on the kayak rental and floating experience or camping in tents and RVs. My review is specifically in regards to renting a cabin with them and the customer service(or lack there of) they portrayed when faced with my complaint. DO NOT STAY IN THEIR CABINS! Upon our arrival on Friday night, I pulled back the covers to replace with the blanket we brought and immediately noticed what appeared to be a dead bug. I began looking closer and pulling back the sheets. I found several different casings of a bug that per google could be bedbugs but could be another bug. I tried to not be paranoid. I decided to take photos along the way just in case. Keep in mind, there were 5 fitted sheets, and 2 mattress covers on this ONE bed. Why? It seemed like they were trying to cover up an issue in my opinion. I put a fitted sheet we brought over theirs and we used our blanket that night. We spent the next day on the river, and I will be clear and honest, the experience on the river is great and we have zero complaints. Upon returning to the cabin(this was cabin#1 by the way) I decided to lay down in the bed under our blanket. At this point, I already had a couple bumps on my upper arm that were itching terribly. I have a tattoo right there so I couldn’t really see the irritation, but it did itch really badly. I tried to tell myself it was mosquitoes from being on the river. Then, I saw another couple of bugs and the end result was we just could not sleep there another night with what we had seen and feared. We cleaned everything up and drove home late that night. I purposely left our luggage and the sheet and blanket in the vehicle that night. The next day(Sunday) I brought it all into the house and washed it and dried it on high heat. By Tuesday evening, I had several more bumps trickling down my arm in a line and by Saturday morning I woke up with bumps all the way down my hand, and a few sporadic ones on my leg, neck, and face. I went to the doctors that next Monday and they confirmed IT WAS BEDBUG BITES. They put me on a weeks worth of steroids after giving me a steroid shot in the office and gave me a medicated cream for the intense itching I was experiencing. I immediately called a pest control company and had 2 out within 3 days. Both companies confirmed the pictures I have are 100% BEDBUGS AND MY BITES ARE ABSOLUTELY BEDBUG BITES. I know these situations can get out of control quickly and the last thing I wanted was for my kids to go through this discomfort so I decided to reach out to Carol at Buffalo River Resort by email and very respectfully explain what happened and what’s come of it. I included pictures and followed up with the estimates I had gotten as well as the report from my doctor. We have 4 children in our home and just lost my mother-in-law unexpectedly and have faced unexpected financial challenges, so we are in no position to financially cover this issue, however, this is not something to be ignored. I received a response the next day(Tuesday) saying they are sorry and they will get this to the owner. I have followed up 3x since then and have not heard a word from them. We did, however, get the cost of our cabin refunded back to our credit card yesterday. I sent one last email this morning giving them until 2 PM to reach out to me and resolve this issue in the right way, which is to rid our home and family of this issue, not return what we paid for the cabin. There is a substantial price difference-$500 vs$2,000- which we can’t afford. We also cannot afford for this to trickle through our whole home and affect all 4 of our kids. One is already affected. The level of discomfort, irritation and lack of sleep I have had since this has been extreme. But the disappointment I feel from a“family owned” company handling theirselves this way is even more triggering to me. DO NOT TRUST THESE PEOPLE& DO NOT SLEEP IN THESE CABINS!! There are plenty of other places to float the Buffalo.

We didn’t have any neighbors and were located close to the showers and some horse stables (but far enough away from them so as to not smell horses the whole time lol). I love Loretta Lynn's! Lots of options for all types of camping. They have equestrian spots, RV spots, tent spots, and cabins for rent. Plus so much to do on the property! Can get busy on holiday weekends when the weather is nice or if they are doing any events there! Otherwise you can easily find a spot here!
LegendWhen I stayed at Prizer Point, I felt as if I were in a small coastal town. It is the first campground I have been to that has condominiums. It doesn’t matter what kind of camping or glamping you do, this campground has it, except for yurts. However, they do have tree houses. There are also choices of cabins,“chalets”(although it didn’t look like a chalet when I looked at one), bungalows, floating cabins, etc. Of course, being a tent camper, that’s my choice. Some of the tent sites are on top of each other, but if you are lucky enough, you can stay at a site beside the woods. You still don’t get complete privacy, but it is better than being on the other side of the path where the tent sites are on top of each other. The tent sites are grassy, which I like. I prefer a grassy site over a concrete pad. Some people love the large campgrounds with lots of activities, especially when there are children with you. Since I am mainly a tent camper, I prefer the solitude of being in the woods. Fortunately, I was there at the beginning of the week, and it wasn’t as crowded as it normally would be. Personally, and subjectively, I would rate this campground one star; but objectively, I have to rate it five stars because it offers so much. While I was there, I toured the campground and was amazed at how much they have. They have go carts, oversized chess, swimming pools, a soccer field, a marina, a restaurant, and a section called Prizer Lagoon. You can also rent golf carts to get around, and you will want to do that unless you want to walk for miles. There, you can play in the inflatable obstacle course or ride in a paddle boat. There is also a zip line that crosses the water. For RVers, you have quite a few options. One section has formal concrete pads with hookups. Another section is not as“sanitized” but offers everything you need for your RV. I was surprised by the size of the marina, which was huge according to my limited knowledge of marinas at campgrounds. There is also a boat ramp for when you want to launch your own boat. If I wanted to RV, I would choose the little peninsula beside the boat ramp. Great view! If I wanted to stay in a cabin, there are some cabins next to the lake that also have great views. Overall, this campground has everything you want in a resort campground.
RangerThis was a pretty basic campground, but the staff was friendly and helpful and the access to the lake was great. Nice Cabins and boats for rent and a fully stocked store for all your beach needs! There's a pool if the lake water gets too much for you and I give the bathhouses a 6/10. Campground is on a peninsula, which is nice. I recommend the west side of the sites.

If you’ve seen the movie you will have a better understanding. There is a lodge, camping, stables, beach, marina, and a whole lot more. This is the ideal campground if you have kids and are looking for a lot to do in a weekend. Huge lake offers great fishing.
The campground is not huge but does offer water and sewer hookups. They have 2 shower houses located for a 5 min walk from any site. Hiking and a boat ramp within the campground make it easily accessible. Sites are narrow and I do mean narrow but long. If you have a small group easy to reserve a couple sites. Amongst all the state closures this campground was open and that is how we came upon it.
We have stayed in the cabins and they have two or three bedrooms and fireplaces so if you have someone in the family that doesn’t like the outdoors they can be in a cabin or go to the lodge.
Campground host was amazing helping us out. The sites along the water are narrow but come with a very nice view. The sites on the interior are a bit bigger bc of their “backyard”. Really there isn’t a bad spot in this campground.
The shower houses also have laundry which is a nice luxury.
ScoutPiney has over 200 sites for all types of camping. They have programs and all types of activities for everyone. You can go swimming at the beach, fishing, boating, hiking or tour the Land Between the Lakes area. Not far from the campground you can visit Paris Landing State Park in Paris, TN where they have the world's largest fish fry. Fort Donelson is also nearby in Dover, TN. It is a day use park with beautiful views.
If you are camping for the week-end you may not want to leave the campground because there is something for everyone right where you are.
It is one of my favorite campgrounds and I highly recommend that if you like a fun, very well kept campground you go camping at Piney.

Parker’s Crossroads is located very conveniently off of I-40 and the park is gorgeous! They have some long term campers, storage, and an RV Repair Center on site. The shop inside has more parts then we have ever seen at an RV Park. While here we needed a switch for a water heater, they had it!
The campground had some narrow roads and some less than level sites but they were all doable. They have a nice pool area, spaces for dogs to be walked (on leash), pet waste disposal, cabins, and full hook ups.
The park was very quiet and clean, well kept. They have large mature trees, and great landscaping.
The cellular service for TMobile and AT&T we’re both decent and streaming video was possible each night.

Great place to start and stay for your Land Between the Lakes adventure. Lakeside, gravel spots with good views and nice clean facilities. Located in LBL and near Paris Landing SP, Fort Donelson NHS, and everything that LBL has to offer in the South and North units.

ScoutArea is beautiful but sites were close together and the ground outside of my trailer was very unusable, all hill and large rocks. No way to spend time outside of the camper. After I leveled it the bottom of the front steps had a 2 foot drop and the rear were on the ground. The slope made the sewage hook up a nightmare. Verizon had spotty signal at best. My buddy and i tried to reserve a spots based off of a campsite map prior to going but when I showed we were put in different spots. Apparently the drive way for the cabin was also a spot and thew off the maps numbering... they only refunded us 1 "pick your spot price" since we were close enough. The area has great potential but just needs TLC and effort. Never checked out the showers and such but the store was nice and staff was friendly. I will say TMMR was a blast and I'll be back but for the money spent on a campsite, a 40ft toyhauler shouldn't have to be rigged into a site at a rally.
RangerOne great thing about here is the beautiful lake nearby! My family and I spent our entire day here and had an absolute blast. The lake front views are incredible. You have the option to camp right next to the lake and have the best view ever. They also have spots for RVs for electrical hookups. The sites are amazing because they are orettt big. We fit my dads big truck and all our tents in the campsite we had. There is a small beach area, bike trail which was a lot of fun, an archery range, theater, and great hiking trails. The campfire theater was amazing! You honestly can’t beat that. Some other things we enjoyed were:
I would definitely call and make reservations beforehand. It wasn’t very busy. The cost is pretty cheap too. For a basic, tent campsite it was $12. More expensive if you use the electrical hookup areas. When we went it was pretty Smokey. There were some fires nearby and the smoke just settled in. That was the only downside of our trip.
GuideI enjoyed my visit to Paris Landing state park. I was there with a large group of people from UAB, Vanderbilt, and Fisk for a Developmental Biology retreat. The hotel has great rates and is perfect for large groups, though it has a 1980s feel to it. The park itself is huge with miles of trails and basketball/tennis courts and volleyball courts. There are pavilions available for cookouts and BBQs, and our group had a catered dinner to one of the pavilions. I did not use the lake at all, but it looked very nice.
LegendI've stayed at Energy several times, and thought this would be a good time to update the review. Energy Lake is in Land Between the Lakes (LBL) and is ideal for nature viewing, hiking, swimming and hanging out by the camp fire. There are four loops, with A being the newest camping loop, B has been converted to all single room cabins, C & D remain unchanged, but are well kept and maintained. The staff at this campground is AMAZING, and very knowledgeable about LBL and the two small towns on either side of LBL (Aurora and Cadiz). The lake itself is man made, and motorized water craft are not permitted being there is a nature sanctuary in the back creek end of the lake, which makes for great swimming, and my favorite lake to kayak through with all three dogs on board. There are multiple access points to the lake with roads leading to the lake from both sides for launching, or you can paddle across. There are NO WATER or SEWER hookups at any of the sites, and the sites in A & B are compacted gravel, designed for either RV or tent, loop D's sites are all paved and preferred by RV's.

GuideIt was ok. We chose a group site. It was difficult to stake our tent due to the massive root systems. Bathhouse was unclean and outdated. There was swimming, but beware of the snakes lurking in the wall you have to step down into the water from. The beach area is also a drive from the camp. Small fishing and peddle boats are offered for a rental fee.
