Best RV Parks & Resorts near Linden, TN

Several RV parks near Linden provide full hookup options for travelers. Harmony Ridge RV Park in Linden offers spacious sites with 30/50-amp electrical service, water, and sewer connections. The park accommodates big rigs with pull-through access and level sites. "Like most of our reviews...I cannot comment on showers, bathrooms, etc. We have an RV for that. This place is a great find and one of the best we've stayed at. It's clean, plenty of space," noted one visitor about a nearby park. Thousand Trails Natchez Trace, located about 20 miles from Linden, features year-round RV sites with full hookups, though not all sites include sewer connections. Piney River Resort in Bon Aqua provides 114 RV sites with concrete pads that can accommodate larger rigs, offering 30/50-amp service, water, and sewer hookups.

Access to some parks requires careful navigation on rural roads. A camper wrote, "The 'RV friendly directions' included an 8-mile hilly and windy road that turned into dirt halfway through with lots of potholes, quick turns, and skinny roadways." Cell service varies significantly throughout the region, with Verizon generally providing better coverage than other carriers. Most RV parks in the area welcome pets but require them to be leashed. Dump stations are available at most parks, though travelers staying at parks without full hookups should plan accordingly. During peak seasons, particularly fall, reservations are strongly recommended as many parks fill quickly. Propane is available on-site at select locations, and laundry facilities can be found at several parks including Thousand Trails Natchez Trace and Parkers Crossroads RV Park.

    Tanbark Campground

    Very Nice Overnight Stay

We stayed one night. It was very nice. Cash or check only. Veteran and other discounts. Inexpensive. Check in after 12:00 Check out 11:00. Pull through full hookup 30/50A service. Fast friendly check in. Some sites gravel, some asphalt. Older building for restrooms and laundry, but meticulously maintained. Level enough that I didn't unhook, just lowered jacks for stabilization. I don't see where the complaints about space come from. All of the tight spaces are taken by full time residents. We had more than enough room for a 36' 5th wheel with 3 slideouts, a cargo carrier on the back, tow vehicle (which I didn't have to unhook) and a second vehicle. We could have fit another car if needed. The person behind us parked his truck between his rig and ours. In front was a fire ring on a 12' wide patch of grass. There are full time residents here, but most of the rigs look a lot nicer than other places we've seen. Beautiful area. Was surprised how low the road noise is being so close to an interstate. We wouldn't even hear it if our door was shut. Very quiet. We would definitely stay here again. Thank you for recognizing veterans and offering a discount.

Parkers Crossroads RV Park and Campground

    One of the best

Like most if our reviews...I cannot comment on showers, bathrooms, etc. We have an RV for that. They do have a clean accessible laundry room that is nice. That being said...do yourself a favor and just stop here. This place a great find and one if the best we've stayed at. It's clean, plenty of space, great pond with ducks and geese, and the hosts are second to none...seriously the best. We stayed at a pull through, concrete pad site that was perfectly level. Their office is decorated in a really cool 50s diner fashion and makes you want to order a shake and some fries. Just a great spot. Given the time...I could see this being a long term spot for us.

    Piney River Resort

    Not worth the hype

I have a large motorhome and pulling a long enclosed trailer. Called in to book a one-night stay to confirm which spot is best for my length and easy to get around, the rep said spot 50 was best (our phone conversation kept cutting out so I opted to book online). The website was very easy and modern to use and I paid $66 for the recommended spot that had a picnic table and string lights (as well as 50 amp, water, sewage). The rep said to follow the texted directions instead of gps because gps route is not rv-friendly, that was such a joke. The “rv friendly directions” included an 8 mile hilly and windy road that turned into dirt halfway through with LOTS of potholes, quick turns, and SKINNY roadways. Driving in a night was very sketchy and then leaving in the morning was worse to finally see the area I was staying in, was not quite family-friendly. It made sense why DoorDash and Uber eats did not service the area. The nice string lights I paid for did not work. The paved pad for my spot barely fit my RV and made my trailer bottom out and scratch when pulling out. The turns around the park were big rig friendly once in but not so much going out. Will not be visiting again. I guess my only plus was the dumpster open for use.

Parkers Crossroads RV Park and Campground

    RV Park and RV Repair!

Parker’s Crossroads is located very conveniently off of I-40 and the park is gorgeous! They have some long term campers, storage, and an RV Repair Center on site. The shop inside has more parts then we have ever seen at an RV Park. While here we needed a switch for a water heater, they had it!

The campground had some narrow roads and some less than level sites but they were all doable. They have a nice pool area, spaces for dogs to be walked (on leash), pet waste disposal, cabins, and full hook ups.

The park was very quiet and clean, well kept. They have large mature trees, and great landscaping.

The cellular service for TMobile and AT&T we’re both decent and streaming video was possible each night.

Parkers Crossroads RV Park and Campground

    Not What We Were Expecting

We found this highly rated campground (CG) while looking for a different route back to our home base and wanted to check it out. We followed our RV GPS north on TN-22 to the CG, which is about a mile and a half past I-40. We checked in and was then escorted to pull through site 12 with FHUs. It is a narrow road and a 90 degree turn into the site. Because of the slight incline on the side of the site, you can't really go wide. We had to maneuver several times so we could get straight on the site and get our sewer lined up. We also had to make sure our steps could come out on the small deck. We would have positioned again so we didn’t have to get out 25’ of sewer hose to dump our back tank, but there’s a ditch in front of the site that would prevent an easy back in to hitch back up. We soon found out the site is not level and had to put leveling blocks under our door side wheels as they were off the ground after auto level. Disclaimer here as not all sites in this CG are the same and some are quite nice with room between them. We were here for two days and placed in the row where they place shorter rigs for overnighters. The sites are cut into a hill and are very close together. These sites have a small deck with most having a patio table and two chairs. Site 12 has a picnic table, which in our opinion was to too large for the space. There is also a several foot drop off that if you are not very careful could cause harm(not safe). The site was not long enough for our 40’ 5th wheel plus F450 and we were instructed to park across the road. There’s a fire pit in these very narrow sites. The truck parked in the site next to us was too close to safely enjoy a fire in the tiny sliver of lawn with the fire pit. During our briefing after being escorted to our site, we were told to use a reducer as their water pressure is high. They claim to have good internet and the speed test and usage confirms the internet here is good. We were able to get a clear shot north for Starlink. The CG does have mature trees in and around some of the sites. They have cable but we didn’t use it. We got 4 bars on Verizon. As we and others were setting up, the staff rides around in golf carts and stops by to check on you. While a nice touch, commenting“you look perplexed” and nothing more as I was finishing putting out 25’ of sewer hose was not helpful nor necessary. There are nice amenities here to include the big pond area. There are four washers($2.75) and four dryers($.25 for 10 minutes and$1.00 got our load dry). There is one additional dryer for dog bedding only. As we were here for a couple of days, we wish we had a better site versus site 12 that other reviewers had mentioned had issues. When we asked how we could get into one of the sites in the 29- 35 area, which had plenty of open sites during our stay, we were told those were for big rigs 40' and over. We reminded them we were a 40' rig. Had we been placed in the 30s area, our review may have been better.

Guide to Linden

Camping options near Linden, Tennessee focus primarily on river access and natural settings. Located in Perry County along the Buffalo River at approximately 500 feet elevation, the area experiences hot summers with temperatures frequently exceeding 90°F from June through August and mild winters. Most campgrounds remain open year-round with reduced services during winter months when overnight temperatures can drop below freezing.

What to do

River activities at Buffalo River: Kayaking is particularly popular at Crazy Horse Recreational Park, which offers rentals and shuttle service. "Primative Camping, kayaking & catching tagged small mouth bass was more than an experience! Perks was exploring a cave!!" notes a visitor.

Swimming spots: Natural swimming areas provide relief during hot months. "The water is crystal clear and cold. We sat in beach chairs and let the current wash over us. The swimming hole was great! We loved watching the younger crowd jump off the cliff into the water," reports an RVer at Piney River Resort.

Hiking nearby: The Natchez Trace Parkway offers historical sites and trails. "The park is located along the Natchez Trace and it is a great spot to stay if you're wanting to explore the history, hikes, and waterfalls," shares a camper about their experience at Thousand Trails Natchez Trace.

What campers like

Riverfront sites: Premium spots with water views fill quickly at many campgrounds. "We chose a site along the beautiful Piney River with full hook-ups, level cement pad, pavilion with lights and ceiling fan, kind neighbors and the wonderful sounds of silence," reports a visitor about their stay.

Family-friendly areas: Several campgrounds offer designated quiet sections. At Crazy Horse Recreational Park, "There is a family side if you prefer a more quiet, kid-friendly atmosphere." Another camper notes, "Has a family side and another rowdy side across the river. Family side quiet time begins at 10 pm."

Pool access: Some rv parks near Linden provide swimming pools when river access isn't preferred. "They have a pool, lots of activities, great clubhouses, and large sites," mentions a camper at Thousand Trails Natchez Trace.

What you should know

Road conditions: Access to several campgrounds requires careful planning. At Piney River Resort, a visitor warns about "narrow, windy roads with dropoffs on the side. We took the staff recommended route in and Co-Pilot's route out and both were scary in our Class A towing a car hauler."

Cellular coverage: Internet access varies significantly by location and carrier. "The park does not have good TMobile or AT&T and other campers stated that Verizon is ok but not streamable," reports a camper about Thousand Trails Natchez Trace.

Bathroom facilities: Maintenance quality differs between campgrounds. "The bathrooms start out pretty clean, but can quickly get nasty with the traffic of kayak renters and other campers. Showers also are pretty cold on a weekend night," notes a camper at Crazy Horse Recreational Park.

Tips for camping with families

Quiet areas selection: Choose campgrounds with designated family sections. "The family friendly, quiet side is across the river," explains a visitor at Crazy Horse Recreational Park, while another mentions that "Family side quiet time begins at 10 pm."

Swimming safety: River areas have varying depths and currents. At Thousand Trails Natchez Trace, "Nice lake at 102 sq acres in size" provides alternative swimming options for families concerned about river currents.

Kid-friendly activities: Several campgrounds offer recreational facilities. "There's lots of stuff to find yourself doing to relaxing by the water to playing bingo at the hall! To renting a kayak or pontoon! Has dog park and swimming pool and beach area!" shares an enthusiastic visitor about the facilities at Thousand Trails Natchez Trace.

Tips from RVers

Site leveling challenges: Some campgrounds have terrain issues. A visitor to Thousand Trails Natchez Trace reports, "The roads throughout the park need some work, there are large pot holes that are difficult to avoid."

Electrical service options: Confirm hookup compatibility before arrival. At Thousand Trails Natchez Trace, "Did have an issue that most sites are only 50 or 30amp hookups only, so I had to borrow a 30 to 120 adapter."

Seasonal availability: Lakefront and premium sites book quickly during peak times. At Green Acres RV Park near Savannah, an hour from Linden, "The avenues are paved, the spaces are crushed stone, well maintained. The cable TV gets lots of stations, and works well."
