Brick House Campground (Sc) — Francis Marion And Sumter National Forests

    Nice for almost free camping

We stayed here for three nights in space number 17. Surprisingly it was quite level. The whole time we were there there was only usually about three or four other campers in the 21 spaces. Beware of the giant pothole when turning off the 66 onto the Brickhouse Road. We hit it and it jarred the trailer so much it broke our back window. This is totally dry camping and there are two sets of vault toilets. Nearest town was Whitmire about 7 miles away. Minimal facilities. Clinton and Newberry are both about 15 miles away and they both have plenty of shopping facilities. Hikes in the forest noted several downed trees, most likely due to the hurricane that occurred last year. Some of the trails were impassable.

Ash Grove Mountain Cabins & Camping

Very Nice camping near Dupont National Forest

If you want close access to Dupont and Pisga NF you're within minutes! The owners Mark & Esther are wonderful. We call him SouthSide Mark ( hails from South Africa). Some sites are a little tight, but fine. If you have a big rig call ahead. The cabin was wonderful. The bathhouse is older but very clean. You can tell the owners love their campers and property. The site is tree covered and hilly. We will come again, guaranteed! Watch your step. Wood Spirits are Everywhere!

    Springfield - Hartwell Lake

    Gorgeous view

I believe every site is lake front. The view of the lake is amazing and perfect. Some sites have little beaches for access to the water. Others have rocks if you want to make your way down those. Mine had rocks covered with wire thats been cut or broken so wasn’t taking my chances there. This place is huge! There is no sewer at sites but water and electric up to 50amp

Solitude Pointe Cabins & RV Park

    Quiet & Great Location

A wonderful campground run by friendly people. The sites are on level cement pads which makes set up easy. It is on a steep hill, but the camp hosts escort you to the site and help navigate your camper in if needed. We are new to camping so this was helpful. Sites back up to the woods. They also have a great camp store for any little things you forgot or keepsakes. Highly recommend this campground and will return!

Accessibility challenges: Some ADA-designated sites don't meet typical accessibility standards. One visitor at Paris Mountain noted their ADA site was "extremely dangerous" and "more mountainous than the mountains," causing falls when exiting their RV.

Tips from RVers

Narrow access roads: Paris Mountain State Park Campground presents challenges for larger RVs. A reviewer warned, "The road through the park back to the campground is pretty narrow at some points - we don't know how we would have managed if we had met another RV! We have a 31' Class A and we managed fine, but I did hear some people with larger trailers having a harder time."

RV length restrictions: Due to terrain and road conditions, several campgrounds have practical limitations on RV size. A visitor to Fireside RV Park noted, "Spots are fairly close but the people all seemed friendly. There seemed to be quite a few long term campers but the place was clean. The grass is very nice instead of dirt or gravel pad next to you."

Pull-through availability: Some campgrounds offer easier access sites for larger rigs. At Springwood RV Park, a visitor mentioned, "Our pull-thru site was right next to the office and was very level. Our site had a picnic table. We had no issues with the water/electric/sewer."
