What to do

Fishing opportunities: The stocked lake at Lake Glory Campground offers good fishing for families. "The lake is stocked and the fish are always hungry," reports Vince L., who adds that "plenty of tent, rv spots and cabins" are available within a short distance to other attractions.
Amusement park access: Knoebels Campground provides direct access to the adjacent amusement park. "Connected to the park, a great way to visit! What you should know
Site selection strategies: Request specific sites when booking at J&D Campground. "Kind of upset you do not get to choose your site. We would have preferred a site near the giant open field that backs up to the road, whereas people that were actually put there preferred the site we had instead," notes Debbie W.
Road noise considerations: Some campgrounds experience traffic noise. "It is kind of noisy due to the traffic on the road but that would not have bothered us," reports Debbie W. about J&D Campground, mentioning that sites can be close together.
Seasonal availability: Most facilities operate from April through October. Lake Glory Campground specifically runs "April 15 to October 15" according to their listing information, while Camp A While maintains a similar "April - October" schedule.
Road conditions: Some access roads require careful navigation. At Trailhead Campground, a visitor cautions: "The road coming in is ROUGH, if you towing or driving a MH, be prepared."
Tips for camping with families
Pool facilities: Twin Grove RV Resort offers excellent swimming options for children. "Great pool. Twin Grove has a beautiful campground. The sites are large, you have a middle of nowhere feel," notes Henry R., who was impressed with his first visit.
Playground access: Jonestown/Hershey KOA provides multiple recreational areas. "There's a fenced not in area for dogs and a mini golf course, but it's more for younger children," explains Marlaina M., who also notes that discounted park tickets are available.
Evening entertainment: Many campgrounds schedule regular activities. "On Saturday nights they usually have a band playing on the stage which is really neat," shares Tiffany S. about Twin Grove RV Resort, adding that there's also an ice cream place for cold treats.
Bath facilities: Lake Glory Campground offers private bathroom units. "I do have to say I love the bath houses here. They are each their own individual rooms split into shower/changing room. I like the privacy and it made it much easier when my daughter was small," reports Gayle B.
Tips from RVers
Site levelness: Check site conditions when booking. "The site was plenty spacious for our pup and TV, but was not level at all. In fact, none of the surrounding sites looked very level," notes Jen V. about Knoebels Campground.
Hookup reliability: Electrical service can fluctuate during peak times. "Electric ran below 110 volts the entire weekend and the water had a brownish tint to it. It was a VERY hot weekend so I should mention that everyone had their air running," reports Debbie W. about water and electrical service.
Site proximity: Be prepared for close quarters at some facilities. "The sites are very close to one another. We lucked out in Bermuda Triangle as there was a little more space and we were further away from some of the noise," explains Derek W. about Knoebels Campground.
Reservation timing: Book well in advance for peak season. "Book early as they sell out fast!" advises Joshua W. about Knoebels Campground, which fills quickly during summer months, especially on weekends.
