Best RV Parks & Resorts near Toledo, OR

Several RV parks serve the Toledo area with varying hookup options and price points. Port of Newport RV Park & Marina offers drive-in RV sites with full hookups including 50-amp electric, water, and sewer. Thousand Trails Whalers Rest accommodates large rigs with spacious sites operational year-round. Seal Rocks RV Cove provides concrete pads with electric, water and sewer connections, while Sea and Sand RV Park features similar hookup capabilities in a coastal setting. The sites at Premier RV Resort include 92 concrete pads with both 30-amp and 50-amp service available. "RV loops are more like your basic crammed in RV park sites, with all sites closely in a row," noted one South Beach State Park visitor.

Reservation requirements vary significantly among coastal Oregon RV parks. Most parks near Toledo require advance booking during summer and holiday weekends, while some offer more availability during winter months. Full hookup sites typically command $35-45 per night for residents, with non-residents paying 25% surcharges at state park facilities. Several campgrounds provide amenities specifically for motorhome travelers including sanitary dump stations, propane services, and pull-through sites that accommodate larger rigs without disconnecting tow vehicles. Cell service remains reliable at most established parks, though signal strength varies with terrain. Narrow access roads present challenges at some locations—one review cautioned that Forest Road 51 near Beaver Creek has "narrow and unpaved road. Very narrow, my trailer could barely fit through."

Carl G. Washburne Memorial State Park Campground

    Nice secluded campground

Stayed 4 nights. Clean bathrooms, good space between campsites. Nestled in the tall trees, it would be cool during a hot summer. Since I visited in November and it rained, the drops from the trees were loud on my trailer roof. (Well duh!) 1/2 mile walk to the beach. Clean, safe, and quietWell maintained campgrounds, as are all Oregon parks. Great reservation system. (California in comparison has a terrible website. What’s up CA?) 30 and 50 amp electric, water and sewer at the site (Full hookups). Great dump station across the highway. Back in spaces, so a 40 foot RV would barely fit. This is an older but well maintained campground.

Carl G. Washburne Memorial State Park Campground

Nice place to stay on the Oregon Coast

A great little campground settled along the coast near Florence, Oregon.

Get there early as reservations cannot be made and its all first come, first serve! It is extremely busy during peak season, so if your looking for a not so busy campground, this is not it.

Full hook ups available along with restrooms/ showers, fire wood for sale and there is a dump station on site. Picnic table and fire pit at every site. You are along HWY 101, but the trees do provide a little bit of a sound buffer. There is no playground at this campground, however they offer the Junior Ranger Program to occupy kiddos which is great! Trails nearby lead down to the beach and its 2 miles by trail to the Heceta Head Light House.

Overall this is a great family friendly little campground!

Visiting in the off season is a great option if you can't get a spot in peak season as it is open year round.

I would give this one the full 5 stars, but the inability to make reservations for this State Park is a huge con :/

    Premier RV Resort

    Good Base Camp

Our stay at the Lincoln City Premier RV Resort was good.  The space was clean and the utility hookups were well maintained and functional.  And, staff were very nice and accommodating.  We upgraded to a pull through and in hindsight should not have.  It was close to the road, and many of the trailers in the pull through section appeared to be long term occupants, at least a couple left early in the morning for work and returned in the afternoon.  The location although easy to get both north and south from because it is adjacent to the highway, was in a part of town that seemed a little economically depressed.  I would have rated it higher but for the price, I expected more.  UPDATE  We visited this park for a second time in 2023 and selected a back in site near the north east section of the park and loved it.  We are changing our rating to five stars.

Port of Siuslaw Campground & Marina

    Pricey, But Loved It

Parks that are walking distance to shops and restaurants are such a treat.  There are breweries, restaurants, farmers market (on Tuesday afternoon), shops, etc all within easy walking distance from here.

We stayed at a waterfront site, which was cheaper than the "premium" pull through sites in the middle.  With fees and extra pet fees (you get one pet included in the nightly fee, any additional pets are $2 each) we paid $47 for a night.   The premium sites we would not recommend, unless you must have a pull through site.  Those are basically just spots in a gravel lot with hookups.  Zero division between sites.  And they are the most expensive at $55/night.

There's a nice gazebo to use for group events, but it's an odd set up in that there is no path to the gazebo and it's in the center of a circle of back in sites.  So if all the sites were occupied, I suppose you'd have to walk through someone's site to access it?

So pleasantly surprised to see glass recycling here!  We got to dump off our growing pile of traveling glass recycling.  Mixed recycling is in a separate bin.  But no plastics!

There is laundry here, and showers, but we did not use either.  There's a book exchange shelf in the office.

Their website is out of date: there are no dry camp spots any longer.  All sites are FHU.

Good cell service here and their wifi is good and strong, even in the back end where we were.

We liked this place to splurge on a place close to town, but overall too pricey for us to stay for any length of time.

    Premier RV Resort

    Nice CG, but small sites

We are full-timers in a 36 ft Class A with a Cherokee Trailhawk tow. We were in site 57 for 4 days in mid September. Very friendly staff. The CG is clean, quiet and well maintained, but the sites are fairly short and narrow. As others have mentioned, tow vehicles usually extend into or are parked partially on the roads through the CG, but the roads are fairly wide throughout the CG. Also, our slides extended well past the concrete pad on both sides, leaving very little room to get around our RV. The sewer connections are not threaded, so you’ll have to weigh down your sewer hose. There is a fair bit of road noise from the highway. There is a nice open area, off leash pen and network of short trails for walking your dog. AT&T coverage was fair, ranging from 2-4 bars of 5G with speeds up to 19 MB/s. The CG WiFi speed varied considerably, from next to useless up to 1 MB/s. We were able to get DISH coverage on all three western satellites at our site. There were 11 OTA channels to be had with our fixed omni antenna.

    Harbor Vista Campground

Great little gem in Florence OR

I kinda like this little spot, although I must admit Florence OR isn’t on my to 10 places to stay on the coast. I find the beach access to the ocean (not river) to be a little more difficult here than other locations. Plenty of vegetation here in the park! Trees and bushes that others have described. This did cause us a small problem getting the slide out on the driver’s side while simultaneously lowering the entry steps on the passenger side. Site 25 if your wondering where we stayed exactly. Our picnic table was situated in the rear of the site. The tall vegetation provided great privacy from other campers, but also made it difficult to meet people. We had water, 30 amp power but now other amenities. Some sites do have full hookups. Our 30 foot trailer and truck did fit in the space length wise very nicely. The park is clean and welcoming. A trail will take you from the campsites down to the banks on the jetty. When the tide is out you can search for sand dollars and other tide pool finds. I work remote sometimes but our pre paid AT&T was almost non existent. T-Mobile worked good. Starlink wasn’t happening due to tree canopy obstructions. Yeah, so overall I’d say the park is great. Decently priced, level clean sites, great scenery, quiet. Cons for me, internet access is below average to poor ( your experience may be different), Florence lacks things that I personally am looking for on the Oregon coast, but you’ll need your own reasons for coming here. Mine was a stopover going north and to eat the best Thai food! That’s literally the name of the place lol Best Thai !  But if you’ve found yourself traveling through Florence, and needed a place to stop for a night or a week, I’d recommend here for sure.

Port of Newport RV Park & Marina

    Pricey for parking lot camping!

This place offers a regular RV park for something around $80/night, or dry camping for about $40/night. The dry camping area is literally a parking lot, but you have a nice view of the marina and also it’s really nice to be this close to town so we stayed here for a night. You’re sharing a parking lot with Rogue brewery and distillery, which is very cool. You’re also walking distance to the Oregon Coast Aquarium, also very cool. The town of Newport is cute and fun and there are many interesting and cool shops to browse, and many of them are dog friendly.

We didn’t use any of the amenities here, but we were told there is wifi and showers. There were dumpsters (no recycling), and a free dump station for campers. There was non-potable water at the dump station, but I am sure they would also let you fill your tanks with potable water.

Carl G. Washburne Memorial State Park Campground

    This Place Has Everything

This campground is so nice and well kept, each site is pretty private and the whole area is just beautiful.  Some sites have a bit of sun but most are in the shade.  Some of the sites were tight and we had to back in to the site very creatively and carefully in our 26ft class c.  I'd imagine some of the huge 5th wheels would have trouble managing in some of the sites.

Oregon State Parks now charge a 25% surcharge for RV spots (not tent sites) for non-Oregonions.  Sites are reservable on oregonstateparks.reserveamerica.com.  Those without reservations can take empty sites for one night at a time.

Some sites are electric and water only, and some are FHU for $3 more.  There are also hiker/biker sites at $8, and yurts (one is pet friendly for $10 more).

Free dump station and potable water across the hwy at the day use area.

They have recycling here, and they take glass, aluminum, tin, and paper, and empty propane bottles, but not plastic.

They have free showers and firewood for sale.

Zero cell service here with our Verizon and ATT phones.

Guide to Toledo

RV parks near Toledo, Oregon typically offer year-round access due to the mild coastal climate where winter temperatures rarely drop below freezing. Most facilities sit within 30 minutes of Toledo in neighboring communities along Highway 101. Cell service varies significantly by location, with inland sites generally having weaker reception than coastal parks.

What to do

**Crabbing opportunities: Access equipment rentals at Coyote Rock RV Resort & Marina where staff provide comprehensive crabbing packages. "There is a great little store for all your camping needs, so many fun things for kids to do, boat rentals, crabbing packages, and the best fishing around," notes one visitor.

**Beach exploration: Find direct beach access near Premier RV Resort through an underground tunnel. "A well planned short walk through an underground tunnel at the Inn at Spanish head get you to and from safely," according to a recent visitor. The resort sits on the opposite side of Highway 101 from the ocean but provides safe passage to the shoreline.

**Brewery visits: Multiple RV parks offer proximity to local breweries. "Rogue brewery and distillery is a short walk from the park," states a camper at Port of Newport RV Park. Another notes you can "walk to Rogue Brewery's headquarters" from the marina location.

What campers like

**Dog-friendly amenities: Premier RV Resort receives praise for its pet accommodations. "There were little dog fenced areas, which is super thoughtful. The staff was super dog loving and friendly," writes one reviewer. These designated spaces allow pets to exercise safely off-leash.

**Landscaping quality: Thousand Trails Whalers Rest earns recognition for its natural setting. "We stayed on the south side with concrete pads that were nestled in between trees. We were here during significant rainfall and appreciated not being in mud. Most sites have trees or shrubs for privacy," reports a camper.

**Community activities: Some parks organize social events for guests. Premier RV Resort offers "ice cream socials, Sunday donuts, happy hour and live music, all appropriately social distanced," according to one review. Another camper mentions, "They put on fun events."

What you should know

**Reservation timing: Many parks require substantial advance planning. "Our RV neighbors let us know that they have to book a year in advance," warns a visitor to Coyote Rock RV Resort. For Sea and Sand RV Park, "Reservations can be made 12 months in advance online."

**Site privacy varies: Parks differ significantly in spacing between sites. "The sites next to each side of us were very close about 3 feet apart," notes a camper at Sea and Sand RV Park. At Thousand Trails Whalers Rest, one reviewer cautions, "Many sites you will need to be skilled at leaving your trailer. Also be very skilled at backing in as they can be at less than ideal angles."

**Internet connectivity: Reliable connections remain inconsistent throughout the area. "We got 1 bar and often no internet. We put up our WeBoost and got 2 to 3 bars but sometimes the 3G network wouldn't produce internet," reports one camper at Seal Rocks RV Cove.

Tips for camping with families

**Recreation facilities: Port of Newport RV Park & Marina places families within walking distance of educational attractions. "You're also walking distance to the Oregon Coast Aquarium, also very cool," mentions one reviewer. The Newport location serves as a convenient base for exploring local sites.

**Playground access: Coyote Rock RV Resort earns positive feedback for its child-friendly areas. "Enjoyed the young kids playing in the park area and watching them fish off the dock," writes one visitor, highlighting both playground facilities and fishing opportunities suitable for children.

**Kid-focused programming: Thousand Trails Whalers Rest offers structured activities for younger campers. "So many good areas for kids to play and the staff really does a great job planning activities for the whole family," states one reviewer. Another mentions, "The pool, mini golf, playground and other fun games."

Tips from RVers

**Site leveling considerations: Seal Rocks RV Cove provides concrete pads but navigating into spaces requires caution. "The back in sites are narrow," notes one camper. Seal Rocks' gravel sites need adjustment to achieve proper leveling.

**Pull-through availability: Limited at many coastal RV parks near Toledo. "We had the 2 pull throughs. Mine was tight for a 38 ft tt," reports an RVer at Seal Rocks RV Cove, indicating most spots require back-in parking.

**Motorhome restrictions: Some facilities maintain strict rules about RV types. Pacific Shores Motorcoach Resort requires specific vehicle classes. One visitor warns that "after driving 4 hours we were told we couldn't camp with our trailer it had to be a class a or class c motorcoach in like new condition."
